Installed easily and promptly. Used the manual setup selection, and had the router operating with my network printers, HTC Droid, Wii, and all pc's in a matter of about five minutes. None that I'm conscious of. Functions as expected.

Easy set up; high WiFi connection speed. Drops WiFi connection from frequently; SharePort is useless. I had a printer connected to the SharePort. Virtually each and every time, I had to re-set the router in order to get the printer to re-connect and print.

Admitted, I just completed hooking it up 1 hr ago. But I like how it's incredibly easy to get net, wired and wireless connections up in minutes. Literally plug n play, save for the addition of our password and other alternatives of selection. Router can't update firmware past version 7񳏉 by itself. I will have to manually get it to load 8񳏊 version. Wonderful product and installation. Nice clean look. Doesn't get hot like previous router from other business.

Really pleased with the range, cool display onboard, game fuel is nice because we game alot overall just a good router. USB Share port is flakey tried operating are printer thru it but never ever actually got it to perform effectively. Oh nicely did'nt buy it to be a print server. I often think of Newegg prior to looking anyplace else initially because there costs are superior and they ship your items rapidly.

It is incredibly rapidly when it runs. Have to reboot this method at least once a day. DLink know of the issue(search about and you will see) and have no fix for it. It would be an incredible item if DLink could fix this concern

Quick uncomplicated setup is here for beginners. Deep customization for knowledgeable users. I have the router connected to my SB6120. I'm supposed to be getting 15Ǘ, but with this setup i get 30Ǘ. Couldn't ask for much more! All my wireless devices run rapidly and smooth. I have my xbox 360 wired and i have noticed a much stronger connection in halo 3 and MW2. None, my connection is blazing! especially when playing 360. Although tweaking some settings and testing speeds i noticed my upload was slightly slower than it should be. So i turned off Automatic Uplink Speed. Set my Manual Uplink Speed to double what i actually get. Now it's fine. Also I'm running the most recent firmware (ver. 1.23).

Uncomplicated setup. 5GHz, N, decent cost. Works perfectly. None that I see. Despite the fact that I only use it as a WAP, I don't have it managing the DHCP or WAN. This is my 3rd D-Link wireless router and the initial two had trouble managing all three tasks. Have a DGL-4100 wired router handling the DHCP and WAN, this DGL-4500 is replacing a DIR-655 because I wanted to switch to 5GHz. Picked up a DAP1522 too and they work good together.

NONE! This router has so quite a few troubles. Firmware does not solve any issues at all! D-Link tech/customer assistance is useless. Router constantly locks up upon heavy use, for example gaming or running far more then one pc. You have to constantly rest router. DNS on this router has some main problems. I am returning this item for a refund.

Quite quickly speeds with no dropped connections. If you dont know what your performing, superior luck. Set up is straightforward, connecting devices to it can be an problem if you have the security set up on it as you have to push a button on the router for other people to connect over Wi-Fi. Oh and dont loose th install cd becase D-Link is a discomfort.

I've been running it 24ǝ for more than 6 weeks now with no troubles or require to reset. Updated firmware to 1.23 with no adverse effect. Wireless connection has been fine in any part of my home via all walls, rooms, and so on. Download test speeds appear to run a little slower than the DGL 4100 wired router it replaced with the 2 PC's that are challenging wired to it. Speeds are nonetheless much more than adequate. I truly didn't need to have dual band but got it for "future" proofing. The only cause I replaced a year old DGL 4100 was for wireless use with an iPad. I got this model rather of the DIR 655 simply because I loved the DGL 4100 and figured this was the identical thing with wireless added. With a little much more research, I believe I would have gotten the 655.

The display looks cool for the small amount of time it stays on (you can't leave it in an 'always on' state). There are a few redundent effective tools availble to the finish-user. I hope you like the display because you are going to be seeking at it a bit attempting to get your network to function and preserve it operating. G forbid you open your box and you end-up getting one of the sorry saps who doesn't get a router with an updated firmware. You may possibly as nicely enjoy your new paperweight then. The 300Mbps, that- well that looks nice on paper and I am some people today can attain that- but just because you can do it- doesn't mean you need to. You can reach 300mbps if you are running strictly 'Wireless N' (that means no b-g-a-whatever else). You also pretty significantly get hit with high errors on the WAN side. Once you update your firmware, you lose ALL of your router settings.Mine had a initial difficulty of that it power-cycling a couple of occasions on it's own. I really should of returned it proper away, but no- rather the in all probability 'went away' and the router gives spurts of poor service that created as time progressed. I have spent more time than I would of liked to on this router attempting to read D-Link's forums and support. Anybody who thinks it is ok to spend numerous hours digging by way of forums, updating firmware, and messing about for hours trying to get something to perform- have to of ate paint chips when younger- they may well nonetheless do. People really should be able to open a box and get what they pay for- if not far more.Save your dollars- appear at something else- seriously.

Runs fantastic for the 15 seconds its able to run prior to resetting itself... More than... Over... Over... Over... AND More than! FOREVER! It will by no means run stable. Total JOKE! Every thing. I've tried all their firmware updates and nothing has improved performance. I've owned this for about 7 months and never got it to perform correctly. I own a DGL-4300 which has been running absolutely excellent for a lot of years now. I decided to bump up to wireless N and QoS on LAN... I can't believe how negative this router has been for me. I read other critiques about this router spam resetting itself before I bought and they are 100% true. Do not even waste your cash/time.I am back to utilizing my DGL-4300 for now and D-LINK will not be my best selection in router replacements come future upgrades.

The internet interface is quite good. * The display screen is fairly useless. * Like other users, it is killing my network virtually day-to-day. Have to unplug/plug it back it because the web interface wont even come up. * Didn't feel about it till afterwards, but getting lights to tell you if someone is on your wireless, or if 1 of your computers is making use of the network is fairly handy.* Antennas don't seem to stay put either, if you care about that sort of thing. I got this router to replace a different D-Link with the same issue. Fairly frustrating, but I was hoping they would ultimately fix the horrible firmware every person was talking about, but they haven't. No updates in more than a year now, seems clear they have let it die. It isn't even on their support web site anymore. DO NOT Purchase THIS. Its hardly a router. The way D-Link has handled this has produced me determined to steer clear of their merchandise in the future.

Worked right out of the box. Loads of menu choices suitable on the unit. Simple security set-up. Looses connection each 2 weeks or so. Following countless firmware updates, it nonetheless does it. located numerous forums with the exact same problem. The most "up-to-date" made it a useless brick! Downgraded to a operating version just to get it to something. For the price, i expected a flawless unit. I had a Linksys WRT54GL for years, NO Issues! I upgraded so i could get much better speed...didn't truly get it and lost reliability. Disappointed

Nice web layout. Lots of capabilities readily available by way of the web interface. LED screen is nice but I didn't use it quite substantially. I went from tolerating the wireless efficiency to despising it. Living in a modest apartment and having the router in the livingroom I get anywhere from 30-40% signal from the router. We're talking possibly 30 ft away. I received similar efficiency getting it in a household, router had decent wireless signal if you were on the similar floor, but signal on distinct floors was terrible. I've had similar wireless signal performance from other D**** devices and I feel now is the time to switch manufacturers. Setting up game consoles to connect to this device was havoc. I had to reset wireless settings 10x over to get stuff to connect. This was possibly due to some settings on the router rather than just the router itself that was causing troubles. I could not get a Wii to connect unless I took security entirely off.

This router is selectable and not simultaneous. Provides me upto 300mbps Internet bandwidth which is not really beneficial when my ISP gives me 16 mbps. Your bandwidth often depends on the type of Tier you have from your ISP. This router makes use of all of the Bandwidth that i have on my tier level. The net URL for the router settings is great and i have WPA2 encryption with Mixed mode (g and n) and hooked up with SB6120 modem. haven't dropped a connection but since a month although i change my setting once a week and restart it. Good signal strength. I do not play games on my PC so i don't really know how excellent is the Gamefuel technology but my XBOX 360 slim doesn't lag at all and constantly have my NAT open. Wants driver updates and may be could carry out even greater i probably should have purchased DIR 855 which is twice the cost of this but this does what i want.

D-Link DGL-4500 Xtreme N Gaming Router
Cons:The router is "dual band" in that it can support wireless N and G simultaneously, but not in that it supports 2 separate WiFi channels simultaneously. The biggest problem I have with this router is that once or twice a week I need to reset the router because one of my wireless devices can't connect to the router.

Pros:Very fast router that has a strong WiFi signal. Web pages come up instantly. It also looks very cool.
Comment:
I bought this router to replace a solid DLink DIR-655 ("Xtreme-N"). The DIR-655 was moved somewhere else. The DGL-4500 has at least as strong of a wifi signal compared to the DIR-655, and wireless transfer speeds seem higher. However, my DIR-655 never required to be reset (or perhaps once every 1-2 moths). So far, the DGL-4500 needs to be reset a couple times a week - more like other current routers like the WBR-2310 and other, lower-end DLink routers.I'm a fan of the features of DLink routers, but for a high end router, it should not have any connection issues whatsoever.

looks amazing, works just like it need to with exceptions that might be just simply because of my DSL connection type (out of my control considering that its the areas cables for ATnT). not 'lag' free, even if programed to have a game rule. i have for months thought it was my fault that i cant get it to work suitable. but after all this time, i have accepted that it isn't. the router has its excellent days and its bad days. nothing compared to my old linksys that didnt function on the poor days. but its not lag free. im not a excellent player and i will accept that, but a lagging game just makes me lose quicker, and that makes the game super annoying. it all may possibly be my atnt, but they swear to their mother its not them (possibly B S)

Simple setup and coming from the final gen of GamerLounge routers it was familiar territory for me. I've got absolutely nothing but superior things to say so far, no dropped connections, no rebooting or power cycling no degrade in performance. It's just a great, quickly router with the characteristics I wanted. It has however to produce for me a Mountain Dew fountain drink and that's kinda irritating me. Good obtain, paired it with a really quick modem and I'm happy as a pig in ... by no means mind. I'm happy.

Gigabit Ethernet and wireless N. I looks good. Their On the internet setting page has a nice layout to it, very effortless to navigate through. I have had two of these, 1st one was replaced since a faulty firmware they released causing numerous severe complications. The second had its quite a few complications also. Be ready to invest tons of time trying to tweak the settings of this router to get it to function at a moderate level. Any Firmware past 1.14 is garbage, it will trigger lots of problems. Like random wireless disconnects, unreliable net speeds occasionally that are just as quick as a 56k modem, and each couple of days you have to restart the router mainly because it will merely quit giving you world-wide-web access. These are just some of the troubles. And a good touch from D-Link, you can't install firmware before 1.20 immediately after you upgrade it past 1.20 so you can't downgrade to a semi working firmware.Shareport Software to attach a printer to the router is just as poor as the router. It has its great days and it has its poor days. D-link has horrible technical support\RMA Department they can say 1 policy and then the subsequent individual you speak to can say that they have the opposite policy. Really unprofessional. The LCD screen on the router is pointless, besides creating the router appear good. Effectively I guess it will be one more 7 years just before I give D-Link another try. I wouldn't purchase this router till D-Link can truly release a working firmware update, but don't hold your breath. But if you get pleasure from reading forums for days on end to get this router to an operational level then by all indicates buy the router. If you don't want to do that, look at a various router
