I needed this item because I forgot to include a floppy drive into my new computer purchase and I have a lot of floppy disks containing data from my old Windows98 computer. I just plugged it into the USB port on my Windows Vista computer, and it was recognized. Easy to use & quiet, too. I had no problem reading my floppy disk files. Great price, too. I love Tiger's values!

I use it on computer running Windows XP Pro. It works as it should. The only complaint is that I must disconnect the drive and reinsert into USB in order for the computer a recognize the A drive. I don't find it too noisy. Have not tried to copy data to disk.

I bought this due to the fact that my camera uses a floppy and the newer computers don't have them. I plugged it into all my computers and it works great.

I had an old program on floppies and wanted to run that program on my new laptop that didn't have a floppy drive. My options were to buy the program again and get it on a CD or figure out how to use the program I had already paid for. I was skeptical that a $20 drive would work but gave it a try after reading the reviews. It worked perfectly with my Windows XP system and it was plug and play....no need to load any software drivers. I only used it for the one application but it was flawless.

Very happy with this product, my new PC doesn't have a floppy drive. It looks good, works well & is fast. My only problem isn't with the unit my old floppy's don't work on my Vista operating system, be aware if you change systems.

Bought this external floppy drive to view photos from our early computer days. The drive is easy to connect, takes little space and has opened all the files so far. It's a really good price for a drive that serves our purpose.

well this lasted about 1 year, went thru alot of floppies but today while using it a disk got stuck inside. Had to use a small screwdriver to get it. Found out release mechanism collapsed inside. So its no go unless I take it all apart to fix it. Also noticed that it said some discs had to be formatted when I know they were good and had photos on them. Figures low priced made in china, not made to last!

Bought this floppy drive to give my 79 year old mom access to her old stored files after we did a (Windows 98 to XP Home) computer purchase/upgrade for her. She just plugs it into her USB port and it cranks right up. My job was purchase, delivery, and demonstration for her. She's now on her own and tickled pink with her new external floppy drive. Thanks for the great product at a very reasonable price!

My new computer does not have a floppy disk drive. So I ordered this to review old floppies made on my previous computer. Product worked great out of the box. Simply plugged into my computer's front USB and up and working in several minutes.
