Does the job and great price
Comment:
When I first got it, I plugged it into the front USB plugin, it did not work so I plugged it into the back USB plugin and it works fine. Out of about 100 old floppys that I had with pictures on them, it won't open about 6 of them, it said they needed formatting, but hey for the price that I paid I think it's well worth it!!! |

Just didn't work
Comment:
Maybe I got a defective drive but it asked me if I wanted to format disks that were already formatted and had data on them. I decided to get a much more reliable (and expensive) Iomega drive instead and its works perfectly. (the website) was very helpful however and refunded the money and even sent me free postage to return the defective one. Feel free to try one of these to see if it works but the one I got didn't. |

It's just perfect in every way! It installed on my Vista 64 bit system before I knew what was going on. I have used it to capture old files without a hitch! I could not ask for more! |

Satisfactory
Comment:
This is totally helpful in storing small files if you have from old system with floppy. It is portable, USB connection makes it perfect accessory to latest PC models that eliminated the floppy drive. I can't be without it since have a lot of documents in floppies. I have not encountered any technical problems. It's perfect. |

Excellent buy
Comment:
No software to install. Plugged it in and WALLA I was able to access diskettes. It has a small footprint and is lighweight. I recommend it highly. Great value. Only drawback was I had forgotten how slow it is to access data on a diskette. |

Really nice Product
Comment:
I bought a PC and it did not have a 1.44MB flobby drive installed, and it did not have a bay so that I could install mine. I found this external USB Floppy Drive on your website and It was delivered fast and in great shape. The price was great and fit my budget. It works beautiful and I can now use all my floppy disks again. Thanks for a great Product. |

SURPRISE-No loading with XP-IT JUST GOES.
Comment:
When I first tried to make it work I thought it was broken or my cd would not load the drivers. I called Diablotek suport and they said with XP it will just plug in and go. Well they were right. My computer shows it as Drive A in MY COMPUTER. I double clicked on Drive A, put in a floppy and quickly I had old pictures taken with my old Sony Mavica digital camera to see again. I then right clicked on Drive A and made a Desktop short cut Icon.It is nice to retrieve all our old photos and word docs again. I like it.I is quite small and just lays atop my desktop case. If you have the need to still run floppies, for the money its very good. |

Diablotek 1.44MB External USB Floppy Drive
Comment:
The drive is USB powered so it's nice not to have another adapter to plug in. The speed is good but the drive is not consistently recognized by my Windows XP system. If I shut my system down, when I start it up again the drive is "gone" until I unplug it and then plug it back in. It's a good thing I have USB ports on the front of my system. If they were at the rear, I'd send the drive back. |

Mini=disk is a pain, but with MAC, didn't need it
Comment:
The mini-disk caused some problems with trying to use it in my laptop, but thankfully it turned out that my MacBook didn't need it. The external floppy drive is very handy, as I had a lot of misc files on floppy from when I used a desktop, so I was now able to transfer what I wanted to keep onto flash drives for storage. Very handy. |

Just what I needed
Comment:
I needed a floppy drive to access some discs sent to me that had some family photos on them. A great little unit that works just as it should with no problems right out of the box. USB powered so it couldn't be any simpler to connect and use. Highly recommened to someone looking for a floppy for those 'just in case' times. |

Good Value - Easy to Use
Comment:
This product worked right out of the box with no special installation required. Windows XP immediately recognized it as the (A) drive. I have since read multiple floppies with no errors. It worked as stated, and the price was right. |

Works Like I Had Hoped It Would
Comment:
I ordered this item so I could access some old games and files that were locked away on 3 1/2 inch floppies. It arrived just a few days later. I took it out of the box, ran the installation disk and used it to install a game I hadn't been able to play for, at least, a few years. It works great. |

Very good deal for the price

I tried to put a floppy drive combo in my dell but, the power cord was too short. I couldn't get anyone to help me find a extension. So this was my last chance to use all my floppy disks. Anyway I love the product. |

Excellent!
Comment:
Nothing much to add to the headline. A USB Floppy Drive has no moving parts, but it's a great deal for a convenient way to access my old files. Should've gone for this sooner. Thanks so much. |

Works great

Started using it right out of the box. Treat it as any USB accessory to disconnect. No problems. Very happy as my mew computer doesn't have an "A"drive. |
Face it, if you want to back up your data, you'd get a jump-drive or some other storage media that has more storage. In my case, I'm using dosbox to run old dos software and purchased a while back original 3 1/2'' floppies of MS-DOS 6.00 and Microsoft Windows 3.1. I wanted to be able to use these with dosbox and Virtual PC. I have a floppy drive on my desktop, but it'd be a pain to make disk images on the desktop, transfer them to laptop, etc.... Besides that, its a lot easier now to create my own boot disk, which I not only use for the emulators, but use with cd-roms for repairing computers. Since I purchased the drive, it seems like I continue to find more and more uses for this drive. Guess it goes to show the computer manufactures that despite what they believe the 3 1/2'' diskettes are not dead.
