Ok for the price
Comment:
The software with this product would not install under Windows XP SP3, so I swapped computer locations and installed it under Vista Home. It works OK at 802.11b but drops the signal under g (about 40 feet from router). The external antenna does not improve the signal strength.

Way better than USB
Comment:
Originally I was using a Netgear USB plug-in wireless adapter but noticed it would drop off every so often and I would have to unplug it and then plug it back in. I bought this looking for a more permanent reliable solution. The installation was easy and so far it is working fine with my Vista OS and my signal is better now. Just hope it lasts.

I have an old Dell desktop that has been losing its ranking in the household. This Hiro wireless NIC now resides in it to stream media upstairs to the bedroom TV with great reception. The card was an quick and easy install. Great for the price.

Great value at 20 bucks.Has execelent reception.only problem I had was windows XP wouldnt validate the software so i fixed it by uninstalling it and just using the driver from the disc. One thing windows xp does good is run a wireless network.

Best bang for the buck
Comment:
Was using a USB connected Belkin wireless G and connection was iffy at best. Ordered this PCI card and isntalled it using the moveable antenna. Took about 3 minutes to find the strongest signal near my desktop. Connection speed on the USB was most times 1Mbps with the rare 2 - 5.5. With the PCI card wireless adapter, I have achived as high as 48Mbps, with 18-24 being the norm. I am installing a high gain antenna set on the linksys router to attempt to get an even more stable connection.

I bought this for a friend as we had problems with a standard wireless card. I liked the antenna being on a 3 foot cable allowing us to place the antenna in a better location for best reception. The price was right also. Works wonderfully, no problems on install.

Plugged it into a PCI slot, turned on the computer and it worked immediately. Signal strength was two to three times as strong as with my linksys usb network adapter. Highly recommend this adapter before stitching to wireless n to increase the range.

Works Great
Comment:
Bought this for an older Dell Dimension computer because I was not happy with the reception and connection strengh I was getting with a USB wireless adaptor. This one works great. Very easy to install once I found the instructions online on how to open the computer case. Signal is great, no more lost connections, and is fully compible with the Windows wireless network software (my prior USB wireless adaptor was not)

Works as expected
Comment:
Easy to install and works great. I had a 2wire and it would drop and stop working (turned out to be a driver compatibility issue) but this one works all the time. Can't beat it for the price and mounting options (magnetic antenna)

When it works it's great. For some reason the adapter stops receiving the signal. Right click to look for available wireless networks, not are detected. Restart computer, everything is fine!

Outstanding product
Comment:
Installation and setup was easy (Windows XP). Had to experiment with different antenna positions, but I can finally get a good signal on the far end of my building, something many other products have been unable to do. I highly recommend this product.

Kind of Worked
Comment:
This product worked, but not as well as it should. When I was using Vista, the best connection I could get was 12mbps. Updating the drivers via software update would make the wireless card stop working. Downloading drivers from the Hiro website or the generic drivers did little to fix the problem. I upgraded to windows 7, lots of frustration there. I E-mailed Hiro and got a quick reply. Basically a few people had success using windows xp 64 bit drivers and they told me to give that a try. It works, but not really well. They said they'll let me know when a true driver comes out. The wireless card gives me anywhere between 1-11Mbps regardless of my PC's location.

Really nice wireless card
Comment:
Installed the drivers shut down windows installed the card. Working as expected on windows XP. On a side note, MS has a updated driver. Just run the windows update, select custom button it will be there listed in hardware drivers.

Better than more expensive models
Comment:
Bought this for neighbor's XP machine so she could piggyback my WiFi 200' away. Ran the CD for drivers, shutdown, installed card, mounted antenna over her desk, restarted, ended the manufacturer's manager software & used XP's built-in wizard, filled-in WEP key and we were in business! Super-simple install & amazing signal sensitivity. Speed is very good considering only about 50% max signal due to distance. Pros: Easy straightforward install on XP machine. Extended antenna for positioning where it gets best signal. Price. Cons: Included software doesn't play well with and duplicates XP WiFi Network managerment. Just kill it after install and use XP's. Overall: Buy It!

Good for the price
Comment:
I wasn't expecting much when i bought this. tried it out on an old tower with windows xp and it works way better then expected. Tired it with my 2 other towers running a windows vista windows 7 and wouldn't even get a signal, and if it did it really wasn't much at all and would disconnect every few seconds. Cons: Not good for vista or windows 7 Pros: The price is right, works great for windows xp and was real simple to install i had no trouble with drivers and even works better then my laptop wireless card surprisingly. 5 for value, 4 for features, 5 for quality, 5 for performance (rated for use with xp) not vista or windows 7
