Awesome product. Hooked it up to my computer on was connected to my network in seconds. I had no trouble installing this at all. Highly reccomended.

If you look closely at the gallery pix, you will notice this product has a chip with an ''RA'' logo, indicating it uses a RaLink chipset. Unfortunately, this is not the case, but it is specifically the reason I ordered it. Long story short, it does not run under Linux. Determining the actual chipset is left as an exercise for the reader. Caveat Emptor.

Purchased this for the external antenna. Installed into XP Pro, immediately recognized and operational. Did not need to use the included software. Comes with a regular antenna as well. So far seems to be working just great! Couldn't be easier.

One of the best cards I've ever used. I have 8 of these in one location and 2 more at another. These latch onto the signal and don't let go. I replace 3 similar linksys cards that had constant disconnect problems.... Since then... no problem at all.

amazing range, 150 feet through 5 plaster walls indoors by using optional better antenna than the one that is provided. no drop outs, solid signal. if i chose to, i think it would be usable at 200 feet indoors. much better and twice the range of the dlink dwl-g520 with the same optional antenna.

Reason was the external antenna. My computer in the third room away from the Access Point, and the walls are concrete, and i am getting excellent quality 54MB all the time. What wireless network card makes all the difference If I have to say one bad thing is the antenna cable was 3 feet only. It would be perfect if it was 6 feet.

Very impressed with this unit. Key feature that led me to this unit was the external antenna that can be positioned as need away from the back of the PC and other metal shielding issues. This unit was installed in a WIN 98 system and while the documentation was missleading at one point, and frankly skimpy, the software was robost and handled the error with not a problem. I have a second laptop with a top line wireless card, and this Hiro out preformed it on a side by side. The difference is the Antenna for sure. In use the card has the smarts to find the strongest signal avail, looking at any open channels first. A real time saver. So simple a novice was confident and running in less then 5 min instruction. I would recommend this unit, especially at the price.

I couldn't beleive how well it worked for the price, it is out performing all the other units that I have, that have the antenna attached to the card, this is perfect if you need to get the antenna elevated off the floor. Very impressed.

Ordered this from TigerDirect for an old Win 98SE computer, so I could access My home network resources from the garage. Installed the drivers, popped the card in and it works fine at about 125' from the access point through a couple of walls. Downloaded 4 hrs of updates from MS and it this card performed very well. The only down side is the documentation. I really like the wired ant., it can be repositioned wherever needed.
