I upgraded from a core 2 quad to this i7 and now black ops doesn't lag at all. It wasn't my video card cuz i was receiving 60 fps it was a method lag that my cpu and ram couldn't manage, but the i7 950 handles it good. The stock cooler performs fine for keeping the cpu cool, but i can't overclock it. With this cpu although i haven't found any purpose to need to overclock it. i7 950 @ stock16 gigs of 1600mhz ddr3 ram2x gtx 470's2x 1 tb hdd'sPractically nothing inquiries my pc not even crysis maxed out.

Very speedy. I was impressed by what I can do with this processor. When I very first installed Windows 7, the Windows Update wouldn't function, no matter what option I attempted. I ended up reinstalling Windows, but with this processor that only set me have 15 or so minutes. None so far.

Extremely quick, Hyper threading makes it have 8 threads for incredible multitasking. Not also pricey for a LGA 1366. Small costly, but worth it Extremely great for an entry lvl LGA 1366. If you a hunting for a great starter CPU for LGA 1366 so you have the alternative to upgrade upgrade in the years to come without having possessing to get a new Motherboard and from that a new OS, this it it.

Don't know substantially about computers, but switched from Q6600, and this is so fast! Almost everything you touch is just so responsive. I am mainly an workplace user but if there is a single thing I hate is waiting. No waiting here. Open Chrome with ten tabs at when - BOOM, it's there! I smiled each and every time Stock heatsink and fan kept my 950 (when idle) on 50! That's high. Purchased the Corsair A50 (air cooling - low finish) and temp went down to 37. A lot superior. So the con is for the HSF No matter what I would do - it wouldn't even be bothered. Couldn't get it above 30 percent operate load below workplace operate, HD films, some Photoshop....Good!

I wondered if I could build a computer.so, I gave it a shot. I chose this as my center piece. I'm quite pleased. Runs hot. I don't know if I just couldn't get the stock heat sink seated properly with the push and twist pin. It was running 60-80° C and upper 90° beneath load. I googled Frio and ordered from new egg. Im running 20-35°C idle and mid 40s underneath load overclocked to 3.86.

Quad-core, 3 channels to the ram, simple to over clock (although I have not performed it however), straightforward to install, price. The stock fan does the job, wish it was a tiny far better although. I built a new rig for my wife and this is the cpu that I used. She utilizes the computer for programming and loves it. She says that she is not certain how she worked ahead of she got her new computer. Now she was utilizing a P4 single core chip just before, so that may have a small to do with it. But I would like to consider that it is my mad computer constructing capabilities. When I purchase an immediately after market place fan, I will bump up the speed a little.

Mated to an Asus Sabertooth x58 MB with 6G G.Ability DDR3 memory.Win 7 Pro boots in about 20 seconds. Total upgrade, MB, Processor, RAM, HD, DVD-ROM Drive took about 20 minutes from commence to finish. Another 15 or so to set up Win 7 Pro and I was a incredibly delighted man.

Price tag and runs in the 1366 boards. Underwhelmed. Very same overall performance as my i7 860 chip. Expected much better performance and was let down. Runs substantially hotter than the 860, on the exact same Zalman cooler. Had to reset the thermal paste to get it running reasonable(mid 50's) temps below load. Purchased this mostly I want a board 1366 which can do crossfire with 16 lanes to every single PCI. The 860 performs in the similar range. So unless you want to do SLI or crossfire with full information paths, believe the price tag by among this chipset and the 1156 chipset.

OC'd to like 4ghz stably! Runs hot... not even at 4ghz, like stock it runs super hot it took some significant tweakage to get it below 50 degress idle. A process which my old q6600 did no challenge. Its good! And it was like the very best till about a month or so after i purchased it and Intel rolled out their new slightly quicker ones..... sigh....

Rapidly, quiet and cool! Dollar per cycle value is great. I necessary a CPU that has a minimal of 3GHz and I am particularly pleased with this one particular. I'm quite impressed with anything I have necessary it to do, like file encoding, video editing and large image manipulation. It's a multitasking dream! The heat sink was a bit tricky to install and it just barely handles a full throttle file encode. But I seldom require that performance and I can set the CPU to not run at a total 100% if I will need to execute that sort of assignment. I am not docking it an egg, because that form of power was like orbiting the moon. A much better cooler would manage the heat for about 40 a lot more dollars. Other than operating @ one hundred% acquiring a bit warm 鳿*F) I am so pleased with this CPU I can't step away from my laptop or computer. At idle, the temps are about 95*F - 112*F based on the ambient temperature of my space.

Substantially quicker than my old c2d q6600. Pair it with win 7 64 and let it fly. Overclocks fairly quickly. Got it to 3.two with out bios. Heard of it going to 4ghz or much more on air. None that are applicable. I wish it were more rapidly. I wish it had been less expensive. But for what i paid, it was superior than i what i hoped to get with the capacity to go farther. People today that really feel the need to have to unnecessarily list the specs of the computer they just dumped three grand into without having relating them to the product they are reviewing are arrogant and stupid.

Quickly overclocked, potent. Handles every thing I can throw at it. Runs a bit hot on stock cooler. I don't seriously have any regrets--it's a top shelf CPU, clearly-- but in retrospect I think you can a "next-greatest" overall performance out of an i5 and spend less money and electrical energy. Think about all your selections.

This factor overclocked to 4. with no difficulties at all, my very first real attempt at an OC too. Stable & idles at 28 deg C in my HAF 932 with CM V6 GT HSF. Only reachs 40 C at load.Huge time improvement from the E8400 this replaced. In an EVGA X58 board with G Skill 1600 memory.I have most eye candy on in the games I play & the raise in FPS is incredible. None I got a very good deal on a X58 MB, otherwise would have waited for the Sandy Bridge chipset troubles to be resolved.

Wow, it's been two years given that I built a computer and I thought that final 1 was quickly but wow, this processor is way greater. It requires a lot of receiving utilized to to be able to run more than a single application at a time without having worrying about anything at all slowing down and I haven't even overclocked it but! May invest in a greater fan than the stock one particular prior to I do too a lot else. Stock fan always leaves something to be desired. Can't go wrong with this a single. All the energy you require and then some.
