Got it on sale and it seemed a good bang for the buck. Worked for a week or so. Began receiving a strange condition where if I rebooted the laptop it was in, the drive would revert back to a previous state. Any changes I made (including installing programs) would be gone! Popped the drive into my desktop and I could only get it to read if i rebooted a couple of instances, and possibly let the drive sit unplugged for a couple of minutes. Ultimately couldn't read it in either my laptop or desktop. Dead! RMA'd by means of OCZ on 3Ǚ, new 1 shipped 3ǟ. According to the tracking number it's coming from Taiwan and it's in Alaska correct now. Definate slow boat, but possibly the replacement is fresh off the production line.I wish there was a way the finish-user could recover a drive instead of getting to RMA it. Very disappointed in this product. At first, the speed of the SSD was very impressive and I didn't have a problem for about 3 months; then it died. Afterwards, when i had RMA'd it, everything looked to be going smoothly after i had received a completely new vertex 2; until it died 3 months later. After having my 3rd revision of the SSD, i can only wait to see 3 months later if the SSD will die once again

Comes with a 3.5" adapter tray Nowhere close to as rapid as rated, I purchased this to replace my 80GB Intel G2, in huge part due to the more quickly specs - somewhat faster read and a write that is rated twice as fast as the Intel. According to CrystalDiskMark, read is more than 1Ǚ slower than the Intel and write is only 1Ǚ faster. I'm receiving 134 MB/s seq study and 115 seq write - no exactly where close to what OCZ is claiming.Also, my 1st a single died unexpectedly after two months, I found my pc crashed and it wouldn't reboot. Tried the drive in numerous computers and none recognized it. RMA was pretty painless and they sent me a brand new drive (the older version, not the newer version every person is complaining about) instead of a refurb. If the drive didn't suck, I'd be fairly content about that. I don't recognize why the drive is so slow, immediately after the very first 1 died, I believed maybe it was just jacked up from the start out and the new one would be at the rated speed. No such luck. It's on a pretty high end 6 core AMD setup, it's ironic that the Intel performs so significantly better. This is my 3rd OCZ, but I'll never get yet another 1 - specifically in light of their present fiasco of changing the basic parameters of the drive when moving to their new manufacturing process but keeping the very same element quantity so there is no way to tell what you are receiving. Made my Rating 7.3 before updating. -Glad I've went for OCZ, possibly looking for much more of these in the near future

Fast when they perform. They die. They die fast. They Die often. I purchased four of these SSD. One particular died in the 1st week. I have had it replaced three occasions now. The new replacement died a couple of weeks ago and I just don't have the energy to send it back again for the new headache that they will send me. One of the other 3 just died a couple of days ago. It lasted three months. I am going to rip all of these out of the rest of my computer systems and just go back to the old HHDs.When A SSD dies that is it. Installed windows 7 with no complications. Bios detected it and set AHCI on its personal. Acquiring about 230 read and 180 write. Very first SSD i have bought and all has gone well so far. I can not belive how fast windows boots. About 20 sec to desktop from cold boot. Difficult drive did not fit in my laptops difficult drive cage. Had to bend the cage to get it in. Wish i would have ordered 160 gig rather. 120 gig and attempting to remain below 80% is not enough for all my applications and games. Had to use a 16 gig sd card to fit some odds and ends.

Quickly quiet trustworthy None RAID array of two of those. Read speed is 520MB/s I am content. Write speed is not too far behind.

An remarkable upgrade, skip the ten,000 RPM drives and go straight to this. Had some issues with my personal computer recognizing the drive below SATA RAID. works fine in either AHCI or IDE modes. Ended up not paying attention to what I was doing and got a MFT virus so I produced it an excuse to get an SSD because I had to do a wipe anyway

I purchased this drive after much convincing by a couple of friends of mine, stating that they had the same brand/drive in multiple machines and they all functioned properly.After ~5 months it was causing problems, and eventually the BIOS wouldn't even detect it on my machine.During the downtime, I discovered from multiple forums & product reviews, that many other people were having the same problem as me with this specific SSD.The drive is currently packaged up and is being RMA'd to OCZ.I would not recommend this specific drive.

I heard so many people having problem with this sandforce thing right after I bought it... I almost regretted it, but so far, I haven't had a single problem with it.Although I don't dare updating it with the recent firmware. I don't truly benchmark my system substantially, but this drive did make notable improvements in boot time ྼ sec from POST to desktop). Load times for my workhorse apps (Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Right after Effects) had been reduced to much less than 6 seconds every. But this is all bragging rights, the actual surprise what the vast improvement in video playback response and render times. It took about 3 attempts to get Win7 installed on it effectively. This a fantastic tiny method drive. It might not be the quickest SSD out there, but it runs circles about any mechanical drive. Although, I nonetheless like my RAID for video workspace.

I consider these drives offer you the best bang for the buck and in quite a few instances they are just quicker than other SSD's. I've owned 3 of these now and I just had 1 quit on me right after about a week. Severe issue considering that it wa element of a RAID configuration. The firmware is a little wonky to update. I had to install it as a secondary drive in my laptop in order to update firmware. An external enclosure would not operate.The drive that quit died hard, since it wasn't even recognized by the BIOS.Newegg was exceptional about taking care of and now I have a WD Black SATA 3 drive as information with just one OCZ SSD as OS and application drive. If I had it all to do over once more I would have accomplished 4 60GB drives in RAID 10 and created confident I updated the firmware on all drives prior to configuring RAID. You cannot update the firmware on these when they have been configured for RAID.

ssd is the future. spinning drives in laptops seems so 20th century now. price keeps coming down so keep watching. mail in rebate is a bit annowing and I actually missed the deadline so get on top of it.

I've had this ssd for over a year, and despite the apparent high frequency of other people's SSD Vertex 2's going bad, mine has been nothing but joy to own. I have had absolutely no problems with my SSD, have not ever had to update  firmware, and have never experienced blue screens. Perhaps I may have received a good copy? Nonetheless, because of my personal experience with this SSD, at the time of writing, I recommend this SSD for those still using SATA2 interface.

Quickly. Nothing wrong with fast. The Cost listed soon after rebate need to state that you don't in fact get money back. What you will get is an American Express Rewards Card. This is only accepted for future purchases exactly where American Express Cards are accepted. I bought the Vertex2 120GB as an upgrade to the 60GB Agility2. Exrelemely quickly boot up time. I'm utilizing this as my primary drive for my OS and other essential programs. Programs opens up virtually as rapidly as you can click on the icons. So far I haven't encountered a single glitch on this factor. Simply mounted on the hot swap bays on my Corsair 800D case. None that I can assume of.

Rapid when it works Drive failed soon after five months. No longer recognized in BIOS or when hooked up externally through USB. Used the drive fine for about 4 months, it worked great during that time. Turning on the computer yesterday led to a "please insert  boot drive" message, and the drive was no longer recognized in the BIOS. Exact same thing happened to a friend who bought the same drive a few days ago.

They are in truth SSD drives. Not at all what they are advertised as. See other notes. These are *SLOWER* and do not match the model number as shown in architecture or benchmarks. I opened and tested both of the new drives and they are formatted capacity of 107GB not 111G and have horrible (by SandForce SSD standards) write performance in AS SSD benchmark of 77MB/s.I specifically ordered the *exact similar* model number to ensure matching drives in my Raid array to the two I already had and paid for overnight shipping to do a rebuild this weekend. To say I am annoyed would be an understatement as I now have to RMA these drives, ship them to OCZ wait for them to obtain them and ship me the Right drives I already paid for.OCZ your not making ppl content at allLosing 16GB of storage in a four drive Raid array and mixed efficiency on write *especially* 4K is not the way to win client loyalty....... -It really quick. According to HD Tune, it's like 2x faster than my two WD HDD's. I`ve got 1TB and 250GB.-Straightforward to mount and to install (BIOS recognized flawlessly). I just had inserted my windows disk and it wen as usual. -SSD are still a bit pricy, but I think it's worth if you're into efficiency. It seemed to me a fantastic notion to have my windows and other software program installed in this 120GB disk and using my 1TB HDD to shop music, movies and other files considering that this type of memory is nonetheless high priced.
