I installed this drive into an older laptop, ASUS F6V, and i keep getting a BSOD after resuming from sleep (Windows 7 x64). I reinstalled Windows using default drivers - same issue. I don't believe it's a problem with the drive. It could be the SATA controller being a little outdated and causing compatibility issues.No love loss, I have another PC i can use this drive in.

I was a Jan 15th buyer of this drive. First day apparently of the 34->25nm change. When I first got it I noticed the drive was smaller then reviews. I then looked and saw a firmware version beyond what was on their site??? I ran some benchmarks and found the performance numbers where well off what was expected. Sure the drive was still dam fast compared to a HDD but it just was not really where it should have been. OCZ RMA'd the drive and after 1 week of email tag to approve the RMA and then two weeks with out my drive purchased as I had to send it to them for RMA they then sent me back a sub par 107gig 25nm drive. I'm now opening my second RMA with them and not all that impressed. In all honestly I will have a really hard time convincing myself to spend my cash on any more OCZ products when there are other vendors out there with similar products.

Every box should have one.This is the second SSD I have purchased for myself, the first being a 60GB Kingston that I installed in a portable-PC build that I travel with. I was blown away by the speed of my new little box (i3 530 in a SG05) with an SSD compared to my 'technically" faster PC at home (at the time, an i5 750) running a Caviar Black.From then on I decided every system I build will have an SSD and I bought one of these for my main rig. I'm actually wondering when there will be a 40GB SSD integrated onto a motherboard dedicated to the OS. Get on it, Gigabyte!While the drive is fast, i have noticed it get slower over time. Initially the drive had reads of ~200MB/sec, now (6 months later) it's around 150MB/sec. I wasn't expecting such a drop  in performance, so much that I suspect the problem may lie elsewhere so take those numbers with a grain of salt. The included bracket had trouble getting along with a few tool-less drives found on some cases, which was to be expected.The sticker on the drive is not the same shape as the indentation on the case designed for the sticker. The indent has square corners while the sticker has rounded corners. This bothered me because I have self-diagnosed selective-OCD.Overall, they are worth the extra cost/GB when building a new system. A slow SSD is still lightning fast compared to a typical platter drive.

First off, this is one of the 25nm newer drives. I knew that before buying it.With that out of the way this is unbelievably FAST. Applications open before your finger is off the mouse button. Windows loads in 4 or 5 secs.....Is it slower that the older version? probably. Does it make a difference in everyday use? Not that I can tell.I'm so impressed by it that I'm going to swap all of my computers main OS drives to these

First off, after purchasing, the price went down $20 on a Daily Deals and NCIX refused to do anything about it. Technically I could have returned it and purchased the Daily special but since I'm not on the West Coast, it's pretty inconvenient to ship across the country.Secondly, after looking into it a little further, I found that OCZ had "pulled a fast one" and started using cheaper 25nm chips without telling anyone so I am in the process of swapping it.Thirdly, if you go the route of swapping with OCZ, don't plan to use your drive for a while because it's going on two weeks now and I haven't even received my "shipping Label" so I can send them the drive.This is very likely the last OCZ product I buy. It's a shame considering they want to *focus* on SSD's that they would mislead their customers this way.

I really like this SSD. I can't believe how fast my computer is after installing this drive.That said, I don't think the 120 gb drive is enough space for the OS and all your applications. 180 gb would be perfect I think. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-26-11 01:52 PM

Bought one of these just before they were released with 25 nm NAND chips, so I got a good one. Loaded Win 7 and some games on it. Drive is so fast that I can't read the game notes on loading screens lolThe drive size is OK for my needs. I typically delete  games when I've played through them once so I won't be running out of space. Using a 500 GB drive alongside this for storage

The SSD works fine, but this is not the product that I paid for. OCZ stealth-changed their product without changing any model or serial numbers. They switched to a die size that is cheaper to make, has decreased storage capacity by effectively ~4GB, decreased lifespan, and decreased performance, all without reducing the price or changing the model number to reflect that this is a different product. I'm very unhappy with what OCZ did and I will never buy from OCZ again. This is despicable business practice, basically lying to their customers. It's not NCIX's fault, they didn't know OCZ did this either and the product look exactly the same.

I got this a little over a month ago, speeds are great and OS loads up really quickly now compared to an HDD. Would definitely buy another one. Lucky for me, I got one of these before OCZ pushed the newer 25nm drives.

120GB is currently the sweet spot for SSD prices. This capacity will fit your OS and all your applications. Combine this with USB 3.0 and you won't have to worry about heat or noise in your system.

SSDs are still expensive over there HDD counter parts but I decided to buy one and put my OS on it and any games im currently playing. WELL WORTH BUYING, as i wirte this, the Vertex 2 is one of the best SSDs on the market, 120GB is more than enough space, I wouldn't get anything under 80GB!

OCZ switched to 25nm Memory (http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?84598-Drives-Shipping-With-25nm-NAND) WITHOUT NOTICE to the customer. We end up with a smaller size (115GB instead of 120GB), lower P/E cycle rating (3000 instead 5000) AND slower SSD! Many buyers vOCZ Forums are dissatisfied to say the least. I feel duped by this false advertising . NO complex technical explanation will justify that OCZ omitted to inform us at the moment of our purchase.

Unbelievable the difference switching to SSD from the usual HDD main drive can make.. It is completely noticeable in all the usual delays I used to see with my old drive.. programs are launching faster, installations occur quicker. Get this unit!

Got a great deal on it as part of a Sandy Bridge combo offer. Installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 on it and WOW, never seen windows boot up so fast. SSD is the way to go for OS and common apps.It supports TRIM and so does Win 7, so performance should still be great even when it starts to fill up.

Once I installed 2 of these into my system, an evga 750i ftw mother board running software raid0, I was giggling like a little kid in a candy store with no shop keeper to be seen... the change of speed I was seeing before me was an adrenaline rush like no other... It was night and day for win7 64bit loading and daily usage tasks for me... Was the biggest speed improvement with all the upgrades over the years with pc's for me... May not last as long though as the old hdd systems for data purposes. So make backups, I do... Buying another one just to bump up the speed a tad more in raid0... Grin..

Very fast. Windows 7 installs in about 10 minutes and boots in about 8 seconds. Supports TRIM, low power and completely silent (of course). Highly recommend if you want a fast performing OS drive! Sure they are a bit pricey still, but totally worth it I do now believe.

ssds are still expensive, but if you were to look into one now, this would probably be the best bang for buck. 120GB is enough to accomadate msot sotrage, jut use a spare hard drive and keep your essentia files in the ssd.apparently the sandforce features are really good for mac os, i don't really know why, but its jsut sometihng that id mention.as for the size, i was quite surprised that it was equaivalent to 2/3 of a chocolate bar, and a little thicker than that. it did come with a drive, but had to be screwed as the mounting for my case did not like the holes provided

I upgraded from a Western Digital VR and noticed performance gains when install and launching games. For general apps I did not notice that much difference.

J'ai acheté ce disque SSD pour augementer la performence de mon portable Acer 1810T 11.6". Avec ce disque, Windows est chargé en 45 secondes ce qui est deux à trois fois plus rapide qu'avec le disque dur Western Digital 5400RPM d'origine. Les applications se chargent très rapidement et je ne regrette pas mon achat. La charge de la pile de mon portable semble durer plus avec ce SSD mais je n'ai pas fait de test formel à ce sujet. J'ai tout simpement cloné mon ancien disque dur sur celui-ci avec Acronis True Image 2010. L'opération s'est fait sans problème de même que l'installation de ce nouveau disque dans mon portable. Un bon achat malgré le prix trop élevé à mon avis.

I'm happy with the purchase. I'd buy it again. It's not a ground-splitting difference going from a regular HDD to an SSD, but it's still nice and noticeable under many circumstances.

Upon install, I noticed immediately the difference. The problem is with today's OS and software that demand a good amount of space, your enjoyment of speed come's very short when you're facing space problems. All I have installed is Windows in a single partition, and some application suits on the other and I will be forced to move my Steam account to a HDD drive because I have no more room and Steam doesn't support (yet)other drives. For 230$, you have to think twice before buying.

I installed this into my Alienware M11x, and even though it had a scorpio hdd it is unquestionably faster. The cost per gig is still way to high for me to use in my desktop machine, since I need massive amounts of storage but in my laptop this fits the bill perfectly. Battery life is even improved which was a welcome addition, as well as feeling no vibration in the palm rests from the stock mechanical hdd. Once you use one you will never want to be without, so be careful of that. It's hard to use even the fastest traditional drives over this.

Took alittle work to setup but this is one of the better and easier to setup than other SSDs, this is also one of the fastest drives ive ever used.Very pleased with OCZ.

I decided to try out SSDs as the price have been getting better and better. They are indeed fast and a lot better than conventional HDDs for booting and loading.I do wish there was better setup for this and other SSD drives as there are a lot of tweaking to be done in Windows to get most life and speed out of your drive.
