I upgraded to this from my WD 1TB black. The difference is day and night. Win7 loading time from 3x seconds to 20 sec. MS Office opens fast as notepad. And also it 0db noise. Without the HD clicking sound, I can hardly tell the PC is still running...Price is coming down pretty fast, but still expensive. I believe SSD will become popular and no more highend when it's cheaper than $1/GB.

Going from a caviar black, this thing is fast and it is completly silent. For my needs, it is a perfect size because I am able to leave enough room unused to extend the longevity of the drive.The 3.5" adapter was somewhat dissapointing as the holes did not align with the ones present in my P183 to mount the drive vertically. I resorted to using 2 side tape and sticking it in my case which works like a charm so far, but I wished they had given more mounting options with the holes.As for the installation, its all very smooth, but I had not read that I needed to install using AHCI, so I had to do a work around in order to make it compatible instead of installing right away the proper way. All in all the weakness are minor, the drive itself is working great. As a side note the MIR worked well, it got approved a month after they received the proofs, so now I am waiting.

Well, i could not resist to the "Extreme deal of the day" and i grab one, yes it's fast but not as fast as the number would make me think, but i'm still hunting for the right tweak.Maybe for a laptop user that had a 5400rpm drive it's a major improvement like they would never dream of, but i'm use to use Raptor and Vélociraptor, so maybe this is the reason why i did not fall of may chair when i start using it.On the other side when installing games patches i can tell it's really fast
