Instruction would help
Comment:
Bought it from TD as refurbished. Got it fast but package had no documentation at all. The player works fine and perform well although I found that creating play lists is not an easy task and I didnt find a way to export play list from my computer. This is where documentation could help. All the main functionality is intuitive.

Not user freindly
Comment:
I bought this from TD. From the begining i had difficulty having it recognized by computer. No instructions. Had to call once tech service. May be ok for tech loving guys, but not user friendly for non technical people like me.

Husband LOVES It!!
Comment:
Purchased this refurb for my husband as a replacement player for his birthday. He has had it for a couple of weeks now and absolutely loves it. The only thing he wasn't keen on was having to upgrade his computers Service Pack as well as Media Player. Both are required to use this particular player. But if you're one who is on top of updating your system or just plain do not mind doing so, then it's really no biggie. (I, also got him a wall charger for faster charging, a protective screen skin and a body sleeve for it to help stabilize the wheel... it works wonderfully!) It's pretty great.

Loving it
Comment:
I bought this a few months ago. So far it has worked great without any problems. I actually downloaded rockbox to mine and it made the player 10 times more functional. I love this player. Mine didn't come with instructions either, but a quick search on the internet took me to a site where I could download the manual in PDF. I also had no problems whatsoever in getting my PC to read it and add music and files, and I have Vista Home Premium with WMP 11.

Great little mp3 player
Comment:
Have had this for a year now. Love it. Had problems with firmware once. Support sent new firmware and instructions and it was good as new. Only complaint is the face scratches easy so buy a protector for it.

Excellent
Comment:
I got the refurb. sansa because I screwed up my old one. It had lasted 2yrs. of almost everyday use. for 4 to 8 hrs. a day. And this one works great. And the video quality is excellent. I would recommend to anyone. There much better than an I-pod.

Works with Rockbox
Comment:
The sound quality is not as good as the Sansa View, but is still far superior to any iPod. The back of the case says this is a v2. It works great with the latest Rockbox as of Nov. 2009. Just tell the installer it is a v1, not a v2.

Excellent-even for a refurb!
Comment:
Excellent player for the price! Came with ALOT of pre-packaged music, tho. Only 1 thing missing, it didn't come with an arm-strap or case of any kind; which is VERY necessary for my usage of any player. That was the only reason I dropped a star on features

Good Deal
Comment:
Overall very good performance at this price. This site made a lightning delivery but the USB connecting cable was missing in the package (I did get 2 earbugs). A call to the CS resolved the problem and the cable arrived in 2 extra days. No instruction material was included and you have to go to Sandisk's website to download the lastest firmware and operation manual. My only complaint is that this model would not display any Asian characters for song titles on screen and you have to search the internet to find tricks to deal with it.

Great Product - No Instructions
Comment:
I love it since I figured out how to make it work. A single sheet of instructions would have been great. Mine came with no instructions, I had to search the net and wasted an hour before I figured out how to make my PC recognize it. I had to install Windows Media Player 11 before it was recognized.

Excellent Price Performance Value
Comment:
Is a great MP3 player right out of the box. My only complaint is the volume drops back to default level when it powers back on. If you are a techie like me, the best thing you can do for this device is to install Rockbox. Rockbox is an alternative firmware that supports more file formats and allows a lot more configuration of the player. Since I mainly use this in my vehicle I run it in Car adapter mode. It pauses when I shut the car off and resumes playing when I restart the car. Rockbox supports crossfading, many features the native firmware does not. Rockbox does not delete the native firmware, just hold the left button when powering on and it boots the original firmware. The e280 is a great little mp3 player. A great value and its even better that you can install Rockbox.

Great deal

I bought this player 2 months ago, never owned a MP3 or ipod. It is very easy to use, no manual but it can easily be found on the net if needed. Have 500 songs on there and it's not even 25% full. Have not used the video or picture features yet, just got it to bring to the gym and works great, can't beat this deal. Get the leather case also, well worth the $7.

Great music player!
Comment:
All I can say is iPod killer. For the price, quality and features this destroys the iPod. When you buy an iPod you are just buying a name, but this mp3 player you pay maybe a quarter what you would for an 8Gb iPod, and you get double the performance. It is built like a tank, and unlike most any other mp3 player, you can swap out the battery. Yeah, maybe I am a bit anti-iPod (though I admit they are built far superior to many other music players, and have owned 2 iPods), but honestly you are just buying a name. I would buy this again, and highly recommend it!

My worker Mp3
Comment:
Aside from a few unexplainable quirks my first e280 lasted two years without incident. I play it every day and have dropped on occasion.. I bought the second one refurbished from CompUSA because that is all I could find. It works just like new!

microSD slot for expansion; I can upgrade firmware
Comment:
I needed an inexpensive MP3 player for my new (thanks to Obama's cash-for-clunkers) car. For obvious reasons, I don't want to keep a $250 iPod or Zune in a car. Enter the Sansa e280. While its microSD slot can only accommodate microSD cards up to 2 GBytes with the original SanDisk firmware, one can install a public domain firmware called ''Rockbox'' that supports 4GB, 8GB and even 16GB microSD cards and thus one can create a 24GB player for less than $100 (refurbished 8GB player plus 16GB microSD card). Now compare that to the price of an iPod. I plugged it into the ''Aux'' jack of my car stereo with a $3 cable and since then, my commute has never been the same. Judas Priest. Ozzy Osbourne. Guns and Roses. Do I need to say more.

replacable battery seals the deal
Comment:
this player works as well as any, but has a big advantage in that the battery can be replaced by regular humans. zune, sony, and others have non replacable batteries, so you know those devices have an expiration date. sure, all mp3's die eventually, but at least this one gives you a chance at life past 18 months.

Comment:
I replaced my Sandisk Sansa e260 with the e280. After a lot of use(2 years?) I had trouble with turning the e260 on. However, I liked Sansa so much I decided to replace it with the same player. Tiger Direct had a good price on the e280, so I decided to upgrade. It's a great MP3 player!

Worth the money
Comment:
I have had this about two months now. Use it every day at work (not allowed to stream on the computer) and weekends. Using it through the wireless transmitter runs the battery down so I need to keep it on charge while it plays. Using the earphones only on the weekends, the battery lasts longer. I went from a 2GB(about 500 songs) to this 8GB. So far I have only loaded about 1100 songs and it is not even half full. Get the leather case and charging cable also, they are good deals.
