I bought 2 of these 6GB but noticed I needed 3 of them for Christmas gifts. I have had nothing but GREAT GREAT GREAT service. I'm very impressed, they really do the RIGHT thing by their customers.

Great Player, Fabulous Price!
Comment:
I have two 4GB Sansas and they've been running great for three years even though I've dropped them, cracked the screens on both, carried them around in my nailbag and toolbox and generally dragged them through the dirt. These Sansas are tough and the sound is glorious. I use Sony ambient-sound-excluder earbuds with mine - a good match. To me the Sandisk Sansa is the best player and this rebuilt 8GB version performs perfectly. Thanks for a great deal!

cool device
Comment:
This is a great value for the player 8gb from Apple will cost you double almost triple. I only want to use the device mainly to listen to audio books and it works perfectly for that so I am satisfied. The features seem to be a little outdated but I believe that I got what I paid for and I am happy.

Sansa E280
Comment:
Refurb : It seems very brand new to me. I like it. The only slight downside is the design control buttons is no work of genius. A good deal though. I got a hard case, wall and car charger for it on ebay all for under $10.

Not bad for the money

Had the unit for a while and works fine so far. Still learning all the functions. The instructions from the downloaded manual is sometimes not quite clear. After I muddle through I finally figure it out. Overall I am satisfied with the product.

SanDisk Sansa e280 8GB MP3 Player - Black
Comment:
I bought a 280e refurb. I am really like the unit because of the video capability. I downloaded a 66 minute video clip (I still have 7+ GIG). The result was very good. It took some time to get the converter downloaded to my computer. It took patience to figure how it all worked, but so far I am very happy with the results. I still have not figured how to delete video clips, but she plays them well. Somewhere there is an MP3 to TV cable that I want to get. I am weary about pushing my audio cable in too far. I use an external speaker w/it at times. It works well.

SanDisk Sansa e280 8GB MP3 Player - Black
Comment:
I have 2 of these Sansa players (an E280 and an E260). They are GREAT MP3 Players. The only thing I would say about the refurbished one's is that on one of the ones I bought, the scrolling wheel started to work erratically (skipping) after a couple of month's (it still works though) I would suggest buying the extended warranty. ALSO, I am pretty sure that these are the early firmware ones that us the standard SD cards and are not capable of using the SDHC so you are limited to the internal memory plus an additional 2gb on a inserted SD card. You can not upgrade the player to use SDHC. One other point is that they take awhile to ''boot up'' the database and that is somewhat annoying. That said, they are a great little item and I am going to buy a 3 third one at the current price just as a spare of a spare!

This is a very good mp3 player and the movie and picture play back isn't bad either. Sound quality and Battery life are both excellent. The only thing to be weary of is if there are no Tags on your MP3 it won't read them. I had to write my owne MP3 Tag editor to fix them.

I've had one for sometime, works great. Looking to get another one for my office, can someone who recently purchase one tell me if it is a v1 or v2? You can tell by what firmware version it is in the settings, 01.xx is v1 and 03.xx is v2. TIA

I give almost a perfect score to the Samsa e280 because it is full of features and for a low price compared to the iPod. This refurbished item looked like it had never been used before, and it is working flawlessly. I opted for the 2 year Replacement Warranty since it was only 17 dollars (only 3 dollars more than the 1 year warranty). In all, I only spent $67 + Taxes in a 8GB Sansa that would cost over $150 dollars brand-new without extended warranties. I think this it's a great deal!

I've been carrying a Sansa e260 for two years and it is excellent. Very tough. I'm in construction and have dropped it many times and it still works fine. Rockbox works on V1s which I assume is what these rebuilt units are. Excellent price. I'm getting one for a backup.

I used to have a 6 GB version and loved it, but I dropped it. So I bought this refurbed 8GB for much cheaper. However, 1 week after I had this refurb, it wouldn't start up anymore. I went back and forth with Tech support for another week until they declared it dead. Tiger returned no problem. Good deal if it works.

Comment:
An earlier review compared v1 and v2 models of this e280 player - note that as long as you intend to use mp3 files, none of the conversion issues are a problem. I just connect via the USB to my computer and copy files. Note that the v1 will only take SD cards up to 2G, it is not HCSD compatible, which the v2 is. With 8G SD cards now at a price of $15 or so, that is an important advantage. The v2 also has several other good advantages, better sound quality being one.

Works like a charm. This is my second one of these. I bought the first for my son, and no issues at all. I would not hesitate to order one again either. Oh yes, Tiger Direct had this to my door in less than 48 hours from ordering it. Keep up the GREAT service!!!

SanDisk Sansa e280 8GB MP3 Player - Black
Comment:
The Sansa e280 is a very high quality mp3 player, but beware. Many of these are v2 meaning that they look the same but are not capable of running Rockbox an alternate and superior firmware for the unit. See rockbox.org. They require Windows Media Player 11 like ipods require iTunes and the video media converter software is lame. It doesn't allow you to select the bitrate of audio or video streams resulting in very bloated videos and the player refuses any video not produced by the lame InterVideo developed windows software with 128k bps mp3 soundtrack. So it is not compatible with Super, mencoder, transcode, ffmpeg, or commercial variants. It does support mp3 files with other than 128 kbps bitrates. Audible.com aa format, wma format and wav files. But thats it. Recording is done in wav format from radio or voice.

This is a good product at a good price. I bought one for christmas and it's a great mp3 player for the money. It also has a good fm tuner to listen to radio, and a photo viewer as well. It is well designed and the earphones are great. It takes some time to learn the menu system on the device but it's intuitive. Definitely plug in and charge before use. Also download latest product updates. Works great w/windows media player 10 and winamp 5.5 to sync your downloaded mp3 files and other photos. I have tried some other mp3 players and this is the best for buck thus far.

I bought THREE of the 4gb models last Christmas. All were worthless within 60 days, with the same issue!! Do a little research online and you'll see that there is a design flaw in this model, specifically, there is no stress relief at all on the headphone jack. The only thing holding it to the pcb is solder. After only moderate use, the headphone jack works itself free and you lose one or both stereo channels. Please look at Sandisks other great products, but steer clear of this model (all Sansa e200 series) and if you DO own one, glue your headphones cord to the player and never remove them!!

I've got one of the 4 gig units. Buying an 8 gig today. These things are fantastic! Plugs into Windows and works with no software needed. Windows media player will recognize it right away. The free Rockbox add-on is a must for those more adventurous! (Google for it...) Those trying to use this in a Ford with Sync, give up on MP3 players, just use a normal USB Flash stick, much cheaper and work 100%. Why leave an expensive MP3 player in your car when you can leave a $10 USB flash drive.
