Scythe KM02-BK 5.25" Bay Fan Controller
Comment:
From what I can tell, fairly accurate temp read outs. Nice crisp clear display from a number of viewing angles. Eye pleasing aluminium finish, and digital read out colors. Straightforward install. Slight gapping in five.25" bay, leads to light bleed via. Energy connector was already shorted (Read other thoughts). Apparently a person else's RMA? Following researching fan controllers for hours deciding what to put in my new build, I decided on the Scythe KM02 base upon a decent quantity of reviews. When the unit initial arrived, I was eager to take a appear. Upon very first inspection, the unit appeared to be covered in a dark oily substance, finger prints left all around... I didn't think considerably of it at initial.. maybe just poor high quality manage standards. Upon further inspection, and even installation.. it took a good 30 minutes to discover that the power connection for the fan controller had a brief. With some ingenuity and one more 30 minutes behind me.. I now have a functioning fan controller.. but for how long? I know it's not the worse factor on earth, but for the cost I shelled out, I expected it to at least be functional and clean when I received it. 3 Eggs because it looks quite nice, and is functioning (now) in the way I want. -2 For the condition I received it in.

Scythe KM02-BK 5.25" Bay Fan Controller
Comment:
So far my unit works fine. The temps read accurately, all four channels work well, and the display is effortless to read and not obnoxiously bright like some other displays. The unit comes with a couple of extra temp probes and tape for them. It was challenging to mount this in my case. The sides of this unit are so little the rails in my Antec case wouldn't hold it until I bent the sides slightly to wedge it in location. Now that it's in, it stays in place properly, but it took me forever to fit it in correctly. The fan plugs are so tiny and so cramped on the side that I necessary a fine tipped screwdriver to get in there and secure them so that I wouldn't accidentally damage the capacitors subsequent to them though pressing them in. The tape for the temp probes is awful and barely sticks to anything. I was debating among three and four stars for this. As soon as it is installed it works wonderful, but installing this was a massive pain. It lost very a couple of points for giving me such a headache while installing.

4 Thermometers and four Fan Controllers and only taking up one 5.25in slotsturdy and compact Thin wires which are uncomplicated to hide and routePerfect mix of update times and particulars. I don't seriously require to know specifically how quick my fans, I use it more to control how a great deal noise they are making.Jumpers to switch from C to F and to turn off the buzzerI had an extra unlabeled thermometer in my package. I don't know if that was a mistake or on purpose. So far none of my thermometers have gone bad, but it is nice that I have an extra. Cables, lots of cables. The display gets a small warm, wasn't actually expecting that, but it isn't that bad.I wish they provided some ties to wrap up the additional cables, but they don't. I read some critiques saying the front was too bright, it isn't too bright for me. Also the buzzer that goes off when a fan is acquiring energy but not spinning is easy to turn off. There is a jumper supplied to switch that off.

This is my initially fan controller and I actually like it. I use it to run two Super Kaze's @ around 2700 rpm (when cranked.) The heat probes are cool too. It frees up RAM that would other wise be utilised in method monitoring software. Just run both for awhile until you get the new temps (it reads different but accurately) memorized and then you can run softwareless. All the connection ports are close together creating it a bit tough to plug stuff in with my non so needle thin fingers.

Incredibly nice for my o/c rig. 5 heat sensors to cover every importaint heat sinsitive components on my rig. People today complain about the tape used to attach the sensors is "weak", dont even bother with it, if your constructing a truily custom machine route the wires neetly, extend if need be by soldering iorn, then tuck the sensors where you want 'em and zip tie into spot. With as a lot of wires that are involved I was nonetheless able to keep the case really "clean". Sensors are paper then and can tuck into tight locations giving really accurate readings, even on my hd radeon 5800, a have to for o/c in my opinion. Wish it had 1 additional additional sensor position so I could measure air temp exiting case, not a massive deal.

I honestly Adore this fan controller! It really makes my black XION case look very classy. Brushed-like look with chrome trimSupplies three.7-12v to your fans, VIA dial, provides accurate fan RPM (verified by Everest)Unused fan channels do not display RPM but rather absolutely nothing at all (blank display)... This is some thing basic, but it is some thing that might be taken for granted I have to turn a knob to alter fan speed?... In my opinion the best fan controller on the market.

Pros:Looks cool, adds extra fan support.

Bought this for my NZXT Gamma case that I stuffed with fans. I bought it mostly to add extra fan support. It looks cool and the knobs turn smoothly. Seems to work as advertised. Has not given me any issues in the almost year that I have owned it. The temp sensors can be a little messy when wiring the case.I would buy it again because I think it looks classier than a lot of the other fan controllers at this price point.

Very useful controller from Scythe. The build quality is impressive and the overall appearance is excellent as well. Very satisfied, this is a real 5 stars review.Further details: RPM are accurate to ±30 RPM. Alarm volume IS loud (duh, it's an alarm; it can be disabled).

Scythe KM02-BK 5.25" Bay Fan Controller
Cons: Knobs feel weak, Temp probes are outdated.

Pros: Good LCD readout. Very readable, bright. TEMP Senors + options for C/F on the back + Alarm option. Solid metal chassis.

I bought this to control my 4 fans on my coolermaster HAF X case.It does the job, although I use it mainly to turn it down during daytime gaming and I turn it up for late-night downloading. Temperature probes are nearly useless since you can't get accurate readings... i still have then hooked up, its cool and all. but serves no practical function.Luckily comes with 2 spare probes if you accidentally break one (Which I did!)Other than the knobs which seem to be made of plastic, the entire thing is VERY solid. If the knobs were better and the control was a little more accurate, it would've been perfect. It's still great though!

Pros: Looks nicelots of infoeasy knobs to use

Put this in my case and wow. Having all that info for each device without hitting a button to scroll throw each one. Imagine this, your playing a game, your in the middle of a big mosh pit of Orks and everything looks like you might not make it out. Then you get 4 crushals and now there is a glimmer of hope! You know this royal rumble is really going to heat up your computer, Now your also thinking this might be all for not, if your computer crashes from overheating you will have to do this all a gain! OH yea! you glance at your case with the newly installed fan and heat display and now know all your fans are running a top speed and your temps are tolerable. You slash the last Ork to the dirt and everything is well and now continue on your travels. Get it?

Scythe KM02-BK 5.25" Bay Fan Controller
Cons: -choosing the temperature for the alarm to go off-molex to custom 4 pin connector is a little awkward

Pros: -it works as advertised-you can forcefully push in 2-pin fans (but no rpm will show)
Comment:
This is a great add-on piece if you're looking for something like a physical 'speedfan'. The colour matches well with similar blue led lights. As other posters suggested, the knobs extend out and anyone with a lid should consider another fan controller. With all the extra wires and the molex connector piece, it took me a good hour to tidy up all those wires to the back panel and then to the specific part of the case. It was a great buy and I would consider it again.

Scythe KM02-BK 5.25" Bay Fan Controller
Cons: LOTS of brightly colored wires, terrible tape

Pros: low price, good looks
Comment:
All i all I'm happy with this. It really quieted down my computer for everyday use. Installation was't so bad considering the millions of little wires to connect. Couldn't these wires be black? Wouldn't that be easy? The probe wires we also a little short. No problems fitting everywhere, but sometimes an extra 3 inches would have made them easier to hide. The aesthetics on the front are nice. Looks like quality and the knobs don't feel cheap. The display isn't too bright or cheesy, no big star trek animated fan logos or anything terrible.I'd recommend it to anyone who wasn't into having a big window in their case or had a case with good cable routing for hiding stuff.

Cons: Doesn't work with fans that don't have RPM Sensors

Pros: Looks great.
Comment:
I bought one of these for my Thermaltake V9 with promises that it would work even though none of my fans have RPM sensors. I RMA'd it to the manufacturer and they confirmed that they do NOT work with two-wire fans. The customer support was atrocious, doing nothing to solve the problem. The manual clearly says it will work with fans that only have power wires.I'm extremely disappointed with Scythe and their customer/technical support.

Cons: temperature sensors don't stick well

Pros: Great to control fan speeds
Comment:
Good product, easy to use, but the installation can be a hassle if your a wiring freak... luckily all wires are long enough. In my case however, controller number 1 does not work. I thought it was just the wire and the company sent spares, but that did not solve my issue. Since installation was such a pain and I did not want to return it, i simply installed 7 connectors and left controller 1 as not functioning. Otherwise, great product, fun to use and control noise levels.

Cons: RPM sensor is constantly jumping around.

Pros: Looks Great! Does the job!
Comment:
Great fan controller that looks beautiful in my 800D. The tactile knobs feel awesome when you turn them and don't detract from the simple design of the front of the 800D. They include extra temperature probes which will be great for the future. Installation was simple and straight forward although I was freaked out when I first powered the system up when the RPM alarm went off because I had only two channels being used at the start. Make sure to pull the jumper off to disable the alarm. All around... Great product... would recommend to anyone who will benefit from the design.

Scythe KM02-BK 5.25" Bay Fan Controller
Cons: Bright Blue!

Pros: Looks, Four Temperature Sensors, RPM + Temp Display
Comment:
Bought a couple of these and installed them in the top bay of a pair of Antec Three Hundreds. They look good but with the protruding knobs I would be careful if using a case with a door. Otherwise they do exactly what I need: show me temps from various components around the case and control the fan speed of the two front fans, rear exhaust and side panel fan (I remove the 140mm Antec Tri-Cools when building with 300s)The fan and temperature cables are more than long enough for my application but might be an issue in a really tall tower case. I also find the RPM readouts will fluctuate between two values (i.e. usually 900 and 930) this may be specific to whatever fans are connected but it's not a problem for me.My only gripe would be that the display is very, very bright. Made my office blue at night until I applied a filter over the display. If there were some way to adjust the intensity then this would be a perfect 5-star product.

I picked this up so i could control my fans when I am gaming to turn them up or when i need them quit to watch a movie. The brushed front plate looks very good with the blue screen.
