I've installed it easily in the case plugged it in the right port for 6.0G then put the right SATA cable written 6.0 G on it. Then I've installed my windows 7 on it and ran some test. The ATTO test gave me: 300 mb/s for both write and read. I've also ran crystal disk Mark and it also gives me 300 mb/s max. I Haven't been able to exceed this speed. I've double-checked cables and port to be sure and everything is in place. So I've gotta say I'm disappointed by this SSD. Doesn't live up to it's speed. You're way better of with an Intel 520 if you ask me.

For 2TB on the cheap, this drive is great. It does need a firmware update out of the box to solve a noise issue, but once that's done it works just fine. Would buy again. |

I recently purchased an SSD to replace my main HDD. As I had almost filled my other drives I was also looking to add some storage capacity for multiple backups as well as a drive to contain my secondary steam games folder (which is quite large).There were some issues in the past with Seagate drives that led to me and several friends with data loss and a lack of help or transparency from Seagate. That left a sour spot with me and I have no purchased a Seagate product in several years.Given that I needed storage for redundant backups and essentially replaceable gaming data and given also that there was not a need for very high speed transfers and that cost was a significant factor I decided to purchase this drive.I have been pleased thus far, and there have been no issues. I will update this review should anything untoward happen. |

Before trying this drive I would always used the Western Digital Black drives, I've found my new favourite. I was being bottlenecked when recording 1080p video with the WD Black with a write speed at ~110MBps but this Barracuda has resolved the issue with it's ~160MBps write speed. I have only had it for a week so I won't speak of reliability but so far I am very impressed. |

These performed well in terms of acoustics inside an old PC case that was known to amplify hard drive access noise. Compared to an older seagate 7200.7 that was inside the case, this drive was near silent. I have not experienced the loud head parking noise that other people have reported. |

Got it on sale, for the price it was a great deal. It can be a little loud on boot-up, but then again most hard drives are.
