Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:problem with raid
Pros:good price when on sale $69.99 Comment:
I bought this for a RAID5 on Windows Server 2008R2 on an old GA-965P-DS3 with my 2 existing 2TB drives (different brand). Every time I try to create the RAID disk management will froze in definitely, and after I reboot BIOS won't recognize the drive until I move it to a different SATA port. After a quick research, this is happening to some people running it as a single drive as well, I gave up and build a RAID1 with my 2 drives and connected this Seagate 2TB to as sli3114 controller. It's been running fine in the single drive configuration.checked firmware is already the latest versiondrives running on AHCI |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:1 year warranty.
Pros:Quiet. Good performance with 7200rpm. Comment:
What can I say, its a 2GB SATA drive... the price I paid was why I give this a 4 stars. However with Seagate dropping the warranty to a pathetic 1 year, basically you know its throw away for any failures long term. I'm using these for backing up data, so they are not critical. Would buy again at that price ($69) but at normal price feels inflated due to fleecing the market since the Thailand flooding. |

great hard drive used in raid configuration. I have owned this hard drive before and have not had any problems. Will be purchasing similar hard drive when I need additional storage space. Highly recommended for a file server. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:Price jumped in Thailand floods but are returning to norms
Pros:Inexpensive, good performance Comment:
For inexpensive storage, the Barracuda 2TB hits all the important points from performance to capacity to price to reliability. I'd hesitate to use them as the main drive with SSD prices falling rapidly, but in a pinch, you can. You won't notice the difference on a low-end box anyway. These drives are perfect for budget RAID and NAS boxes. I'll keep adding these until their 4TB and 8TB options start hitting the sweet spot in the coming years. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:Expensive product for quality of drive when not on sale.
Pros:Great data transfer rate and Hard Drive Size if you can get it on sale (picked it up for 69.99) Comment:
Worth the money if you can find it on the cheap, using this drive for my Back up / Storage drive works quite well. If you are looking for a Primary Drive you will want something faster. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:- Not a 2Tb SSD
Pros:- High capacity- Great HDD read/write speeds- Awesome price Comment:
This is a great drive. I tested it with average read/write speeds at 130MB/s, which is on the high end for HDD's. 2Tb with this speed for the ~$90 after taxes & shipping, I'd say this drive was entirely worth the cash.Definitely recommended unless you can get a 3Tb or higher drive for $130 or less after taxes & shipping. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:Firmware update might be required to be fully working to its best.
Pros:Black Friday sale had them for cheapDecent Brand Comment:
To be perfectly honest I bought this HD as part of NCIX's Black Friday sale. So far it's done the job I was expecting of it which is : store my data.I've read a few reviews and was worried that I would require a firmware update but I guess I was lucky enough. Benchmark tools seem to indicate the HD is performing well under normal and high stress situations. Not bad at all! |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:None yet. We'll see over the long haul.
Pros:It just works. Great value for 1TB, 7200rpm, 64mb cache HDD. Using it as a secondary data drive. Easy to format. Has SMART technology that can provide status feedback to the motherboard in case of any errors. Comment:
With SSDs getting cheaper by the day, this technology will eventually be relegated to redundant drive status. Which is great now for consumers because you get a great deal for a large volume drive. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:Nothing so far
Pros:-cheap, quiet, no issues thus far Comment:
Seems to be a good deal, got them each for $89 on a weekend special so I picked up 4 of them. 2 of them in my NAS, other two waiting for a new project. The ones in the NAS seems to function with no problem so far, they stay cool and quiet so I cant complain, and for the price its awesome! NCIX guy told me they were under pricing it. Meh works for me. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:All 4 2TB Seagate drives I ordered were DOA. The Western Digital Red 2TB drives were fine.
Pros:Cheap compared to other 2TB 7200rpm hard drives. Comment:
All 4 2TB Seagate drives (ST2000DM001) I ordered were DOA. Drives could not be detected by Ubuntu or Windows 7 with known good hardware, or by any of the SeaTools hard drive utilities on Seagate's website. Can't even feel any of the expected slight vibrations when the drives are powered on....seems as though the drives won't even spin up.Unfortunately cannot return through NCIX since I'm past 30 days (due to having to wait for other parts to come in before being able to test). I'm in the process of doing and Advance RMA for all 4 drives through Seagate at $10/drive. Hopefully I'll have more luck with the replacement drives! |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:Reliability is questionable considering reports
Pros:CheapFast 7200RPM drive that doesn't constantly go to sleep Comment:
For a relatively cheap 7200RPM HDD used as a scratch drive, it's not a bad deal but the countless reports of failures would make me think twice before placing important data on it. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:loud, disc spinning
Pros:SEAGATE2TB, lots of space Comment:
this drive is good to go! installed it along side with a SSD, put windows on that and mainly use this for storage. this thing is kinda loud but that's expected from a platter drive, performance wise it's very good, it has lots of room too |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:Gets hot if under heavy load.
Pros:Relatively Quiet Comment:
Works great as all hard drives should. I now have three of these 1 in my main system and 2 in another configured in a raid array. They work great in my raid because it is not high use but if you were to put these in a heavily used system you will definitely want to consider cooling as they are 7200 rpm drives. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:Runs very hot
Pros:Cheap, decent sized Comment:
Bought two of these for a RAID setup, and I find these two (out of the six) run a lot hotter than the others. Performance seems to be OK, but the only ones littering my logs with SMART warnings from temperature are these two. I'm going to buy a separate rack for them that I can place in my 5.25" bays, to see if that fixes the problem...kinda sucks that I have to buy more stuff to make the stuff I already bought work right. |

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive
Cons:slightly more expensive than standard 7200rpm drive
Pros:Much faster boot up times, programs load faster Comment:
I used Acronis to clone my old drive (a 7200 rpm Seagate), popped this 500GB into my Lenovo laptop running win 7 ultimate. My boot times went from nearly 5 minutes to about 90 secs. Shut down is even faster. Applications load a whole lot faster. Not much difference in file transfer speed, however. And the price of this drive (at the time of purchase) was only a few bucks more than the standard 7200 rpm drives. This should be standard equipment in all laptops. No noise or heat issues. |

really good hard drive for 89.99$ nice capacity for the price |
when i bought this drive i had no idea it was on sale, so i got it for only $90this is a great price for a 2TB drive, and from the reviews i have seen, it is much faster than competing brands such as WD or Hitachiwhen i first attached it to my system, it wouldnt be recognized in the OS, but i managed to fix that by enabling it in admin toolsthis is a very fast drive with large capacityif you think 2TB isnt nough, go with the 3TB drive which has the same speeds, at the same price/GB
