My years of experience have shown me that these are the most reliable, no matter the length of the warranty.Customer service is great when you do get a defective drive.Compared to other brands I have RMA'd, this one has been RMA'd the least, but I do wish they will extend the warranty past 1 year.7200RPM is a must on drives that have the OS installed.Faster than sata2 on motherboards that have sata3. |

This drive is cheap and even with only 1 year waranty, you can barely buy two of these for the price of a WD. So why not get two drive and use it in RAID1. Also they are realy fast, I've got 160 MB/s for a single drive and 300 MB/s for a RAID 0 (Software). |

Both of my 2TB Seagate Green drives were getting full in my Home Server and I was waiting for the price of them to come back down to add another. Well, this drive beat them to the punch and is faster as well. The server is located in my bedroom, and has several people accessing it, and I can't hear any of the hard disks in it. I'm only using it for storage, therefore not worried about speed, but after reading several reviews on the net about how fast these are, may purchase more for boot drives to replace some in the kids computers. |

Bought two of these with the intention of putting them in RAID-0. After benchmarking them individually I noticed one was a lot slower than the other (130MB/s vs 165MB/s in ATTO). Apparently that's the norm with these drives. Although they're very fast, if you get a good one that is. They're very inconsistent across all drives with the same model number.I exchanged the slower one and the replacement as a bit faster but still does not match the other one I got. I kept the fast one to use in an external enclosure and returned the other. Got 2 x Hitachi 7K3000 2TB for my RAID-0 instead and I'm happy with those. |

Works as intended for a reasonable price of $99.99. Updated the firmware from CC4C to CC4H, works fine. Have not used it long enough to comment on the reliability issue, but I think it should be ok with the firmware update. Hope the HD won't die on me.If WD cavalier black was a little lower in price, I would of chose that instead, but for the money, this is more than enough. |

I got this drive to be a storage drive, but knew it was fairly quick too. Immediately flashed it to newest firmware, and it is actually quite quiet. I benchmarked it against my wd black drive using both synthetic and real world tests, and it consistently beats the black in both large file and small file transfers. The idle head parking and disk spindown is a bit annoying, but it is supposed to be a green drive. If you're looking for a lightning fast storage drive, this one is it! |

The drive would not format on one of my SATA ports but did on another. The one it would not format on still works and has a back-up drive connected to it now. Other than that the drive is great. It is much quieter than my 1TB WD Caviar Black. I normally stick with WD but this drive was cheap and supposedly very fast, which I have now found it is true. This drive is a good buy. |

That is an excellent HDD for storage. It's pefect to but coupled with and SDD for the system and HDD for storage.
