I got this so I could upgrade my difficult drive on my PS3. It's the same manufacturer and 5400 rpm is the same as what comes out of the PS3. It functions wonderfully. None It was insanley uncomplicated to switch out. 5 little screws out and back in and your carried out.

Compatible with my 2008 Macbook Aluminum Unibody; performs fine so far. Didn't come with side 'screws' (for lack of a better word) that slot into the rubber vibration dampeners on the 4 corners, so I had to unscrew from the old hard drive making use of pliers (didn't have the proprietary screwdriver) and screw into this 1. Unexpected, but not a massive deal.

Works well in a netbook that I used mostly as a massive iPod for playing music. I did not want a 7200 RPM drive for this application. It is 465 GB when formatted but that is no massive deal. no cons no other thoughts

Great size for my PS3 slim. I have around 100 gb of Motion pictures, music, and games on the HDD proper now and I have over 390gb left for much more games and movies. bought as a replacement for the ps3 tricky drive. functions effectively, transfer speeds of 20MB/s+ by way of wired network. As extended as it doesnt die none Not any drastic noticable difference in loading my games. I got about what I anticipated thinking about drive RPM and cache. Would suggest for replacement ps3 hard drive.

Worked perfectly for PS3 upgrade! None but. Bought this as a replacement for my 80gb PS3 drive. I can't attest to the longevity of it at the moment, due to the fact I just installed it this morning. Other than that, it fit the PS3 ideal, and formatted/restored with no difficulties. I now have plenty of space for movies and games. I got this drive as an upgrade of a extremely noisy Toshiba 80GB HD that came with my Playstation 3.This drive was significantly quieter than the other 1, with no chirping from parking heads, and scratching noises from reading and looking for was at a considerably decrease volume. Capacity, Value I have had this HD in my MacBook Pro just about a year and it is now failing. I am seeing the computer system 'hang' 4 or 5 occasions a day for up to a minute - with the spinning colored ball. This has been getting worse more than the past numerous weeks. The drive is installed in the first generation of the "unibody" MacBook Pro - the one particular with the removable battery. I was OK with the relative slowness at initial - versus the original 160GB drive - but the current degradation in the efficiency is fully unacceptable.

None Lets see 1) DOA on arrival....two) a couple of days of "this can't possibly be DOA"three) RMA - Rejectedfour) 1 month from mail back to return6) I am the proud owner of a doorstop OK - Partially my fault, I mailed back the wrong drive. Then it took 20 days for the RMA dept. to email me back that the drive they received was not the drive purchased (and they had been right). Emails to RMA went unanswered. Calls to telephone aid only supplied to wait on RMA process. Website would not enable me a 2nd RMA #.

Rapid drive. I placed it into my original backwards compatible launch PS3 and it immediately recognized it and formatted and is now operating as great as the original except with a boat load of space. In terms of speed I myself cannot inform the difference coming from 7200RPM to 5400RPM. I've loaded 3GB+ of photographs, 8GB+ of music and over 60GB of motion pictures on the drive all within a couple hours...my ps3 is rapidly turning into a total blown media library :) Best factors in life are free...maybe not usually. This drive is fantastic if you have a jailbroken PS3. Loaded several titles onto the drive and they play wonderfully, no skipping in movies or in gameplay like I generally hear allot of folks saying when they upgrade their drive.

500GB drive that is the similar as the a single in a PS3 only considerably larger. Surprisingly quiet, in fact I under no circumstances hear it. None however. The easiest tough drive swap ever. I installed this tough drive and place the old one in an external enclosure and have had no complications at all. I've put hundreds of episodes of my beloved shows, all my music and have only utilized about 1ǘ of the capacity.

I've been using this hard drive in my laptop for more than 2 years now, and still works perfectly. It is near silent when operating, the only complain is that it is a 5400 rpm hard drive, so I do suffer some performance with this drive.

I had the drive connected by means of FireWire to clone the internal drive of my MacBook. Running on the desktop in front of me, not enclosed, I couldn't hear the drive unless I put my ear down by it. The top of a tough drive is typically like a sounding board in a guitar, magnifying the clicks and motor noise of the drive, but this a single is actually quiet. At 5400 RPM it's not as quick as other drives, and I won't be able to cook an egg on the laptop from the heat created, either.

Worked flawlessly in two different Macs -- a 3-year-old Macbook and a brand new Macbook Pro. Access and throughput speeds are quicker than the stock drive it replaced. Not as rapid as an SSD -- much more cache might be good.
