Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:none
Pros:Ease of use. Big hard drive Comment:
I put this HDD into my laptop to replace my overstuff 100 Gb HDD. Simply used Seagate DiskWizard to copy my partitions over to the new disk. In about 30 minutes, I was up and running. Great drive and capacity for the price. |

Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:None.
Pros:Performance, quiet, cool, good price (on sale and pm) Comment:
Put this drive into an enclosure and it works great, it is quiet and doesn't get very warm at all. Performance is great for a 5400 drive, time will tell how it holds up but so far so good. |

Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:none
Pros:quiet, affordable Comment:
Purchased this for a replacement in dell xps m1530. System now runs very smooth. No hiccups. Very low noise. Apps now run smoother, but that's mostly due to a new system reinstall. For $80, this is a awesome upgrade for an aging laptop. |

Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:- Spikes in my PS3
Pros:- Cheap- Quiet Comment:
I would love this drive if it was inside my laptop or something, however, I got this drive for my PS3 and it was a big mistake. I took the risk even though people say don't get this drive for the PS3. Learn my mistake, found out some games spike because of this drive. I know because I've had a 250GB Seagate before this one and that one did not spike so I know it wasn't my PS3 having problems but the drive. |

Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:as a typical Seagate 2.5 in hard drive, it does not make those "click click" sound probably due to parking, only 8 MB cache
Pros:Low price (below $80 on sale or pm'ed), runs relatively cool, no much vibration, sata 3 Gbits/sec standard Comment:
Bought this as a mobile hard drive (not for notebook internal system drive) and it fits perfectly in an NexStar 3 NST-260SU-BK (or other colors will also do) 2.5" hard drive enclosure without using additional power cable. For less than $80, a good deal to DIY a roomy mobile storage. File transferring is still quite fast via usb 2.0. Not difficult to imagine that it will be really fast transferring files via eSATA. |

Great... if the product was not defective.
Comment:
Great price, decent feature, but from the first day, the hard drive is making a lot of strident noises. I hown a WD 3 years old PATA external 2.5 hard drive and he is as fast has this SATA HD on usb 2 (about 10mb/sec) |

Cons:None so far.
Pros:Quiet, runs cool, good price for 500GB 2.5 drive. Comment:
I bought this to replace the stock 120GB drive that came with my MacBook. I used SuperDuper! and an external USB drive case to copy everything from my old drive to the new one. Everything worked out great. No problems so far. The new drive is very quiet, runs cool and feels a little faster. |

Cons:None
Pros:QuietRuns coolGood performance Comment:
Bought this to put into an external enclosure. Offers good capacity in a small size. When in use, the case feels only slightly warm and drive noise is minimal. Read/write speeds are higher than with my OCZ Rally2 flash drive. Would buy again |

Cons:None so far
Pros:QuietCheap Comment:
Bought this to replace an 80gb in my mom's laptop on sale for $99. Since it's a seagate I was able to use discwizard to clone the disc, and everything went off without a hitch. So far it's been nice and quiet, with reasonably fast access speeds. |

Good mobile upgrade
Comment:
If you have a BIOS that will allow a very large drive then get it. It is fast enough and the 8 MB Buffer and the slower spin speed doesn't seem to slow it down. This is the largest notebook drive that I have ever bought and it is now spinning happily in an Acer notebook using Vista Home Basic. If that isn't a good test then I don't know what is. I gave it four stars on Features and Performance, mainly because the specs on it. You can pay more, and most likely gain a bit of transfer performance, but I am quite happy with this one. Again Thanks for the prompt shipping and delivery...also the good value. |

Upgraded my PS3 to 500GB
Comment:
This drive fits perfect inside the PS3, upgraded my 80GB drive to 500GB, after the PS3 formats the drive you are left with 412GB of free space. I can't comment on the performance or longevity since I just installed it, but it should be fine its just a hard drive nothing fancy. I have purchased other seagate products in the past and never had a problem |

Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:A little on the expensive side compared to the 7200.4 (at regular price)
Pros:Actually in stock, unlike the 7200.4Quietest drive I've ever usedInstalls perfectly into the 17" Core2Duo MacBook ProFaster than the stock drive that came with my MBP Comment:
I urgently needed a drive today so I settled on this one to replace my stock 160 GB Hitachi that came with my MBP a year ago. I really wanted the Seagate 500 GB 7200.4, but apparently everyone else on the planet does too; they simply aren't any in stock ANYWHERE (neither was the 320 GB version today)! For anyone on the fence about this drive, I'm very happy with it: fast and ABSOLUTELY silent, and I mean ABSOLUTELY. In fact, when I first powered on my MBP after I'd replaced the drive, it was so quiet I thought there was something wrong (until all the familiar stuff came up)!! I was totally amazed. The stock drive I had before was probably the quietest I've ever had...until now. No vibrations at all either! Well done, Seagate! You've won me back. Thanks for the price drop too, NCIX! |

Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Cons:None found
Pros:Works well, no complaints yet. Comment:
A very good price for half a terabyte in a small hard drive. It replaces the Hard drive in the Toshiba very nicely. It also works well in an external enclosure.Because of the huge capacity, massive data loss could be a problem. Would suggest a backup copy of all files stored on this drive in case of disaster. It would definitely be more than a minor loss. |

I purchased this drive to replace a 100GB drive and it's awesome! Hopefully I don't fill this one for a while!!! |
I bought this drive to replace the Hitachi 160GB drive in my Lenovo T400 (which was completely filled). I thought that the 160GB drive was silent, but this drive redefined silence for me!It's hard for me to say for sure, but I haven't yet noticed speed to be an issue at all (since it's only 5400rpm), and it feels faster than my old drive.I would certainly recommend this drive, especially at the sale price ($85).
