Lots of space, it works, doesn't appear to be slower than Macbook factory HD. Maybe, its the slightest bit hotter and the slightest bit noisier but who cares. If you have a Macbook, you could want to take the pegs from the old HD with a torx screwdriver and place them on the new HD (I HATE torx) so that it doesn't rattle about. I didn't simply because of the need of a torx screwdriver but I may possibly get around to it.

Low-cost price First one died, replaced by NewEgg extremely rapidly. Second one died, now have to deal with Seagate. Much less than 6 months combined lifespan in my 13 MacBookPro. They weren't even operating the OS, that is on an SSD in the optical drive slot. Just the user folder was on each of these drives. Thank goodness for backups. I've usually been a Seagate guy. Will now switch to Western Digital for my MBP.

great value, Seagate is a great brand this drive had seek errors quickly I'm a pc consultant, I acquire all my drives from Newegg and constantly get Seagate. This specific drive had seek errors when I installed it. I RMA'd it and came back to the web site to uncover it was out of stock so I bought a Western Digital of smaller capacity at a similar price. I guess I just got a bad 1.

Functions with my ThinkPad T60. Upgraded from 60GB Hitachi 񣚠RPM).I originally had most of my files (music, images, videos, and so on.) on an external challenging drive 鶀GB). When I purchased this, I was conscious that this was a 5400 RPM Challenging Drive, which was a step down from my original hard drive 񣚠 RPM). I thought this could reduce efficiency slightly, but I haven't noticed any difference in performance whatsoever.(Also, when I bought this I was provided a free external SATA/PATA two.5" enclosure for cost-free with my order, practically a ฤ worth. Unfortunately I ought to have forgotten to put a check-mark by that item as I checked out. I was a little disappointed at 1st, but I checked back with my order and, confident enough, I forgot about it! Inexpensive, great worth. Packed very well for an OEM drive. Wrapper in bubble wrap three layers, inside cardboard box, packed firmly with paper, stuffed inside a significant box, great job. Slid right into the Dell laptop. was able to clone the old drive working with Clonezilla and a Rosewill docking station. Total install time such as cloning less than 30 minutes. Windows 7 Encounter score went from a 4.1 to a 5.9. Old drive was also a 5400 RPM Seagate. Drive is extremely quiet, vibration is not evident, heat is not evident. All in all quite happy with this drive. Not a BOGO (Buy One particular, Get A single Cost-free give) Extremely basic simple installation. Clonezilla tends to make the whole course of action transparent. Outside of much more space and quicker operation, no difference from earlier setup.

wish it worked. I ordered two drives 1st 1 was doa second 1 worked for three months and then died. The one newegg sent back from the rma is now acting up. I love seagate drives but ever because maxtor took over their drives have not been as dependable. I am going with WD subsequent time. The second drive I am attempting to get seagate to rma. Newegg is good and this was my 1st time in 6yrs that I have ever gotten a doa challenging drive and I order a lot of them.

Really high capacity. Works alright. Makes crackling noises whenever the laptop is lifted up or rotated. The mechanical malfunction responsible for this will most likely lead to the tough drive's premature death. Came with my brand new ASUS UL30VT-A1 notebook. After a couple of hours, I noticed that just about every time I lifted the notebook up or moved it about, the difficult drive created a crackling sound. RMA'd and received a working replacement.

Transfer speed & seek time is good. Quite quiet, even with a lot of random seeksPower consumption is fairly low.No dead sector till now ƒ weeks) Cost went down five bucks 1 day right after I purchased it. A previous evaluation says it wouldn't perform with lenovo x200, but it works quite properly in my T61. The HDD worked fine with thinkpad Active Protection Method (the lenovo Airbag thing for win7) correct out of the box - I don't have to do the firmware update (Actually I attempted to update the firmware with lenovo HDD firmware update, but the updater won't permit me to do that). So I suppose this HDD was equipped with microcode compatible with lenovo APS. My OS is win7 64bit pro. Hope this assists

Quiet, fast, inexpensive. I got this to replace the stock 160gb drive which came with my MBP. I don't notice any additional heat or noise and have been incredibly content with the efficiency of the drive. None. I was afraid I would regret not spending the extra ฤ to get the 7200rpm drive, but I have been pleased with the 5400rpm drive. If you are searching to upgrade your MBP appear no further. The install is incredibly easy.

Low noise, low power consumption LOW reliability. 7 of 9 bad suitable out of the anti-static bag. Possibly, just maybe seagate must do at least a Short test with SeaTools before shipping.Seagate claims these drives are suitable for raid operation. I had been fighting extreamly poor performance with my 1680xiƔgb)SAS controller for 3 months, finnally pulled the 8 drives in the array and ran SeaTools on them. The average sector reallocation was about 36 per drive, with the best at more than 100. The 9th drive was placed in a PS3 wich continually can't locate the drive at poweron.
