Superb signal reception 60 feet from westell 327w g router showing 54 mbps. No dropped signals and connects promptly on every single restart of the laptop or computer. Can plug directly into USB but given that it is slightly bulky comes with USB cable extension for other placement possibilities if space is a concern. Wish that it came in black color to match case but have it placed at the back of the personal computer so not a concern for me. Outstanding efficiency @ an fantastic value. Worked straight out of box with win7, 64 bit, and aLinksys/Cisco WRT54G router. Didn't need to use the install CD - Following inserting this adapter into my laptop's USB port, it auto-searched (as I was connected by way of my prior internal wireless adapter at the time) for its own driver, identified it, installed it, and was very good-to-go before I did a thing to it. I bought this to replace a D-Link DI-524 54 Mbps USB adapter. It was giving me bluescreens and it wasn't compatible with Windows XP SP3 or 7. So far, the TP-Link TL-WN722N works superb with XP SP3, but I haven't tested on 7 yet. I get a steady "Good" connection at 75 Mbps with this adapter (compared to the D-Link's "Low" 24 Mbps. It looks like the large antenna of the TP-Link has great reception, even when the router is 2 floors away. No disconnects so far. Superb buy at a bargain price!
