Comes with all cords and a PCI eSATA connector (attach to an open SATA port on the motherboard). 3 Pin ribbon connection can be hard to attach with large fingers. Have purchased five of these in the last 6 months for building External "Backup" Drives. No troubles to date and will continue to use this model until one thing better comes along.

Very good searching, Stable Enclosure, Quickly SATA No Ventilation - as others have mentioned I only use this occassionally so the HDD cooling is not critical for my use. If it was connected and in use often/constantly then overheating would be my main concern.

Slim style... esata... looks cool Runs at an typical at 127 f.... this unit is cooking my 300gig Maxtor... In order to maintain this factor at a sensible temp., you need to have a fan blowing on it.... in conclusion, go for 1 of the fanned units here at Newegg... I would not purchase nor suggest any sealed units (and ignore the claims of thermal transfer throught the alum. case... it aint happening).... very good luck!

Quickly with esata haven't tried the usb. soon after 240g transferring on a 500g WD kept it cool, although not going to be employing it for a lot of mass transfer just for back-ups so it works incredibly nicely. Swift and silent (no fans)Wonderful Purchase none so far led is a bit bright but, not sufficient to bother me, i required a night-lite.

Update immediately after months of ownership. There is a pretty key style flaw with the way the backplane attaches to the back cover (where the cutouts for the ports are). I received this back from a client lately, and couldn't plug anything in mainly because the backplane was "pushed-in" and the plugs wouldn't reach the ports. Upon further inspection, I see that the backplane attaches to the back plate by two screws and a couple of metal tabs that very easily bend in creating the ports unusable. I've because removed the back plate (to leave the backplane exposed) but now the enclosure looks pretty ghetto and the drive will slide out if turned on it's finish.

1 purchased previously worked correctly. The two new ones at least work on USB. I purchased two units. Both function on USB mode, but will not connect on eSATA mode. I have tried on two various computers, both with other eSATA drives which function. Neither pc can see either of the new eSATA drives. A third unit purchased previously works fine.

Looks sleek and sexy. Worked as suppose to minus the ESata. The blue LED might be a bit bright at night if you're attempting to sleep and it's on. Had bit of problem with ESata and it not becoming detected on my windows 7. The aluminum covering gets dirty real simply and show prints but that is typical of any glossy covering.The Led cable that you gotta be bit cautious of mainly because you can easily end up cutting it off since of the angle it's placed inside the case.USB and Power Adapter are surprisingly Shorter than I expected. Properly sadly I didn't get it from Newegg, but when you get the thing for free as component of a program, you aren't going to complain where it comes from. Have owned this enclosure for several years. Installed a variety of sata drives without fail. It can run 2 Terabyte drives even though it was advertised to run up to 1 Terabyte drives at time of release.My only minor complaint is when taking it apart to swap drives, I keep forgetting about the LED wire and plug. When taking apart the cover you need to pry it apart slowly or you could bend the plug used to connect LED contacts

for the most portion really simple to install....see cons. incredibly quickly under the e-sata connection. it heats up but that is due to the fact its pulling heat from the hdd. i noticed an individual say the thermal transfer is not extremely great for this item since it gets hot.....ummmm.....where do we suppose the heat is getting pulled from? excellent price and looks great too. the blasted led indicator is one thing to contend with, but its worth it. if your looking for an e-sata drive enclosure, obtain this.

Good case - speedy, holds up well, looks excellent.... The 1 I bought as a gift, (of course) didn't have any hardware package - the drive mounting screws are pretty uncomplicated to discover, even though they need to have a flat and thin head (thank you antec), but the case screws are IMPOSSIBLE to come across in a metric size - the SAE ones I located are just a Small too massive, but they function.... I hope this was just a fluke - Vantec has been creating great products (I own several), but of the gift buy was the 1 missing the screws - I took the ones out of my unit, until I located some that (sorta) worked.
