I've had this for about a week now and installed a Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB HD. Installation was easy. Setup was easy (with the help of the Internet). However, with this combonation the enclosure heats up quite a bit if left on too long. never had an external HD before so i really can't comment on if that is normal or not. I did not expect a HD to get that hot. Just be careful where you place this device. Another hiccup is that my system does not boot if the external HD is powered up and connected (USB). This is a pain but probably more of a BIOS issue than external HD issue. Just a heads up. |

Have only used it a couple of times so far but it has worked each time. After copying data off of a 250gb western digital hard drive the unit was very warm to the touch. I was actually surprised that hard drives produce that much heat. But for portability in the future I would be looking at trying one of the western digital passports.Good bang for the buck. |

For the price, especially if pricematched/sale this is a great unit. Looks good, and is very easy to install a disk into it. Disk vibrations transfer pretty well into the desk since there is no damping mechanism but for the price, you can't complain. |

This is a nice inexpensive external hard drive case. I had an old SATA HD laying around and I purchased this case to put it in. I wouldn't want to bang it around too much if you know what I mean but it is easy to put together, and it works good. Nuff said. |

I purchased two of these and am happy with both. I like that I can swap the power supply of my Antec MX100 with these enclosures. I would like to see rubber feet on one side of the enclosure for safe stacking. |

I bought two of these on sale for $19 along with a couple of Hitachi 500GB Sata2 hard drives. I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed about how easy these things were to put together (after fumbling with a couple of cheap PATA/IDE enclosures before.) The drive easily plugs into a metal chassis and mounts with four screws, slides easily into the case and then you just have to plug in the led light connection and secure with two extranal screws. So far they are quiet. I actually like the blue activity led and the styling. |

This is a great enclosure for the price. Cheap even when not on sale. The only annoying thing about this enclosure is that the included power cord is a bit short. eSATA isn't a big deal for me. This is a great enclosure made even better by the price.
