-almost 'plug-n-play'-just the size i needed-wonderful price-Newegg shipping-not a single hiccup in more than a year none bought this drive originally to supplement my Dell's 80gb drive. has worked flawlessly ever due to the fact. is now my key HDD soon after updating to Win7 and nevertheless operating like a champ!!! this is a actually fantastic drive for these people who know they don't actually Need to have a lot of space. i will be needing a lot more soon and am looking at the Caviar Blue 640GB model, but this has served my purposes incredibly effectively and will continue to do so in another build.

This drive has completed almost everything I've asked of it and accomplished it with a smile!-Very good Price-Good Cache-Great Speed-Quiet-Rawr!I would buy this drive again in a heart beat! None, this drive has been working as expected for Ƴ months now! I purchased this drive due the it's use in my HTPC. Since live tv is continually writing, I bought this drive to take the wear and tear away from my big storage drive. It stores all reside tv for 24 hours and is then deleted which (if the tv is left on by accident) can be an endless loop. It also stores a windows partition for StarCraft.

I purchased a single of these three months ago and it's nonetheless working perfectly. Now I purchased a different 1 when the sale was running, so I grabbed this for 35 bucks.Speedy tiny drives, no noise, and extremely cool. It's a fantastic drive if you're not prepared to commit to a Raptor or an SSD. Working with these primarily for storage, but can do almost everything else you want quickly at a low cost cost. None. It operates. I've employed a Raptor in my previous develop, but I'm just not particular that it's worth it if you're on a budget. All the builds I've produced were on a certain budget I'd limit myself to. Just stick with the fantastic ol' fashioned 7200 RPM drives till SSD gets low cost or if you seriously want the most speed achievable. They perform, they're trustworthy, and they final. It's tricky to get superior than that.

Quite reliable with fantastic access rate. Great price. Great for RAID array. None. I have been operating two of these drives in a RAID configuration for about 2 years with no difficulties. I just bought a third so that I can reconfigure my method into a RAID five. No troubles with the curent configuration, I would just like to add some redundancy to the program.

They were pretty quickly at the time I installed them. I purchased 3 at the exact same time and they failed a single-a-year more than the last 3 years. I have some WD drives of lower capacity that have been running for ten years, so I was disappointed that these didn't final a tiny longer.

Can't beat a WD tough drive. They also give you the option of downloading totally free copy computer software. How can you go incorrect. All the HD drives I have bought over the past numerous years have been WD and have yet to have a issue. ( hope I didn't just jinx myself). none generally watch for the no cost shipping get's the greatest for your dollar.

Cheap I have RMA'ed 1 drive to newegg mainly because it would half function. I replaced that with a different dive and it worked wonderful.. I received the replacement drive and figured I could let it sit on the shelf for a week or two without a difficulty.. nicely that a single also was DOA this time after opening the static bag I observed that a corner of the challenging drive was damaged and now it has been 30 days.. I had to RMA it back to the manufacture... by the way the replacement besides the corder harm only clicks and well you can hear stuff in the hdd rattling around.SO two bad drives the very first one and the replacement .. Would not get once more based on getting 2 drives bad! Hope the 3rd drive when I get it from WD directly will function.. Untill then AHHH

Dependable. Beginning to show its age...I guess? Lately upgraded drives to a caviar black and it gets significantly much better transfer speeds on HD Tune. This drive averages 64 mb/s transfer rates with 96. mb/s burst with 15,960 hours on it: pretty decent for 3 years, I guess. Difficult Drive hasn't failed, I just wanted one thing more rapidly. If you're not into pc gaming or video editing, or one thing of the like, this drive should be much more than adequate.

i have used this hdd for more than a year and have had no problems at all.rapidly for pricecan not hear the drive more than my loud case fans Ɠ 12v 80mm fans) none this drive is plenty rapidly for most users, you would be superior off obtaining a affordable (but reputable) hdd so that you can devote your spending budget on more crucial components such as the cpu. if you spent ten$ more on a hdd, you might get four$ a lot more hdd performance and in all probability 1$ much more system efficiency.-a faster cpu would give you far better returncontrary to widespread belief, a quicker hdd does not improve gaming performance. it will make games load faster but thats it. the only time it will raise gaming efficiency is if you dont have enough ram and your method is employing virtual memory (using the hdd as ram).... but in that case your already at single digit frame rates....

sata, quiet, rapid wd backup software. Had to reformat master drive and wd's acronis? sw almost lost it all. make sure you have a sata cable of adequate length. I measured mine and thought I had a superior #. Subsequent time I'll go 2" longer. I'd use wd's drivers and discover cost-free backup sw rather than the backup sw they have at the support site.
