Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB Hard Drive SATA 32MB Cache 3.5IN OEM
Cons:Lower RPM

Pros:Quiet, large capacity
Comment:
I bought three of these a month ago when they were on sale. I got two directly from the sale and the third via the combo deal with the Antec HotSwap storage bay.I've put all three in a server in raid5 and haven't had any trouble with it, it has been running smoothly from then on without a hitch. The lower RPM is potentially a weakness however since they're serving for filestorage I have no need for the higher speed.

Purchased one and love it's HDD space and how quiet it runs. Worth the money especially when purchased on sale!

Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB Hard Drive SATA 32MB Cache 3.5IN OEM
Cons:none

Pros:Large capacity
Comment:
I've had good results with WD over the years, not so much with seagate. These are a very nice high-capacity addition to my system. No problems so far, and I don't anticipate any.

Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB Hard Drive SATA 32MB Cache 3.5IN OEM
Cons:out of 4, I had problem with one that was dropped of my RAID-5 because of bad cluster (12 pending sectors)

Pros:Silent, the WD advanced replacement RMA is really nice !
Comment:
I've always been a fan of seagates drives. Those are my first WD drive for something like 5 or 6 years.I don'T see much difference between both company, exept that the WD advance replacement really impressed me. I'm not sure if Seagate offer this ( maybe, but all me seagate drive work well so I don't need it )Anyway, I'm satisfied of the drive, but I find a little unnaceptable that a brand new harddrive show trouble: they should test it better.I would give a 2 stars rating, but the Western Digital support really worth mentionning it, so I'm adding an extra star.

Western Digital WD15EADS Caviar Green 1.5TB Hard Drive SATA 32MB Cache 3.5IN OEM
Cons:Perhaps high defect rate.

Pros:Size, price point.
Comment:
First drive I received I had to RMA. Second drive works great so far. I am using it with a DNS-323, for which it is compatible with 1.06 firmware. Good combination. I will buy a second drive when I have the funds.
