Direct touch heat pipes are the way to go for an air cooling answer. Honestly impressive outcomes for air cooling. Fan is pretty decent high quality, quiet and moves a lot of air.Have mine venting air out the major of my CM storm scout in a push/pull configuration with the top rated fan and couldn't be happier with the final results. Spoiler in fact not a gimmick and gives lightly redirected airflow if need to have be giving added cooling at the base of the heat sink or out and away from your CPU.Can not beat value/performance/quality of this item.Consists of mounting for each and every variety of socket imaginable. Xigmatek has develop into a very dependable company that has increasingly been connected with higher quality goods. Included AM3 mounting lever looks low-cost although feels solid when mounted. Unsure of the top quality of the thermal paste but didn't want to use it as I always have at least Arctic Silver 5 on hand. Xigmatek has produced a terrific product at a great value point. Newegg gets you that item with style and class that is above all other individuals. You will not regret this buy, best balance of cooling/noise.

Really good workmanship.... the cooler seems to be nicely made. Overcloked my Phenom X2 from three.two to three.8 Ghz, and the avg temp under regular operation is only 34C. This factor must supply a lot of temperature headroom for overclockers. The fan is also whisper quiet. This cooler is actually massive. I have an aluminum Lian Li case that is very wide, and I have Dynamat lining the side panel to deaden noise. The Dynamat is about 1Ǟ" thick, and it touches the best of the heat pipes on the cooler, so I have no room to spare. I had to move my ram more than due to the fact the ram's heatsink wouldn't enable the cooler to rest on the CPU.

This cooler keeps your processor good and cool. I noticed a considerable drop from my stock cooler to this. Quite quiet. I didnt search at how the heat-sink would sit on my board and I have very tall ram (gskill pi series) and I had to move my ram and lost a tiny performance in executing so.

Performs as advertised, the several awards it has won arent just for show it has earned themLarge, as a incredibly fantastic factor since getting huge provides it fantastic cooling areaLooks excellent, bought this over corsair a50 just since i like the contrast of copper and aluminum coloring The instruction manual really should be for this model: the one particular provided are for the xigmatek balder and the thor's hammer I Purchased A HDT S1283 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD SEND ME THE Proper Instructions so naturally the instruction was a bit tricky Just since its a older cooler there a are a lot of ways to locate suitable installation mannerThe cooler just plain looks coolThe new revised packaging now includes LGA1156 pushpin brackets but i bought the crossbow back plate just in case

-Effortless install-AMD Brackets function to my advantage (most don't like horiz.)-Great seeking-Anti-vibration fan->sink connectors-Fantastic price tag-Load temp is old Idle temp ྿*C) -The supplied silicon-based thermal paste is likely no very good, but ASilver5/etc is a good cheap repair. -Athlon II X3 2.7 ʃ.01 OC - stays beneath 31* on OCCT. (AmbT៦* & utilizing ASilver5 - pea approach)-Horizontal mounting! Some don't like, it works out far better for my case (NZXT Gamma)

This cooler has been good! Among this and a close to silent PSU, my tricky drive is now the loudest element--and that is with baffling and rubber offsets for the drive! Rather huge, but that is why it is so very good! But examine that you have space. It was fine in the Sonata Elite that I have I didn't use the added tiny fin as I don't perceive it getting any extra benefit and there was small adequate space in the situation as it was. Also, be cautious on attaching the bits that fan attaches to or you could need to have a couple of band aids.

Runs incredibly quiet at 1400 RPM. Kept an AMD 4.0Ghz overclock below 55 degrees under load. Does not block the RAM on my ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO, even with G.Skill Ripsaws in there. Kinda tall, make positive you have room for how far it sticks off the CPU scoop doesnt do significantly for me on my mobo, might be more beneficial for other individuals even though.

Incredibly efficent cooler. Stands high enough that it doesn't interfere with ram or mother board. Fan mounted easy sufficient and it was not so heavy as to bend the mother board. 120 mm fan is incredibly quiet! None It's extremely tall. Will call for a situation of 7 1Κ" or more (measured on the outside of situation) or it will interfere with the side of case. It fit in 1of 2 mid size situations and in my complete tower case.

If it doesn't break it functions great. One of the 4 pins broke while installing. Would say it was my fault but ive had numerous other coolers that needed much more pressure to be place on then this one particular and they didn't break. The explanation I give it a 3 instead of a 1 - Even with only three pins attached I could OC an e8400 to 4ghz with acceptable temps.

Very good cooling, My stock cooler on my phenom II 940 BE was holding cpu temperatures above 70C, this took it down to ㅶ beneath 6 hours of p95 load, and my residence is extremely warm. The CPU fan is a bit of a discomfort to install, you definitely need to have a pair of pliers to pull the rubber by means of. I'd suggest this cooler to everyone as an aftermarket cooler, it doesn't want a backplate and has amazing functionality.

Cools my AMD Phenom II x4 a lot better than stock 33c vs 40c @idleRelatively light, decent fan, quiet, even on complete blast Fan could have a broader RPM range.. by no means created it to 1500 in my process.. about 1390. Mounting program for AMD is a joke, It looks like an afterthought. It can only be mounted to blow up or down with the stock hardware and there is no way to accurately center it over the CPU, which is critical due to the fact an AM3 processor is 37.5mm wide and this sink has a rectangular footprint that is about 35mm on its narrowest side. Even with the AMD crossbow accessory mount, you still have this challenge. It looks like it was created for the smaller Intel chips and then they just dropped an AMD bracket in the box.

Quite properly built cooler, keeps my x3350 cool on all cores. Incredibly significant unit, with a fantastic fan. Extremely quiet for as bigger of a fan on it. Not the easiest to install, if you have a cramped situation....very good luck. Installed in a Antec P182 w/ x38 board and it was not simple. Bleeding knuckles and all.. Nonetheless thinking about acquiring a greater mounting kit of this cooler, the push pins are sort of a pain and put a decent quantity of flex on the board.

It did drop my temps from 67 to 54 at complete loads. Im running the AMD PHENOM two x4 stock cooler at initial so this is a tad bit of a upgrade. Did not get the temps. I was expected to see, really undesirable directions on installing, the fan does not have quickly enough RPM. At the price tag of 40 bucks I would say devote a tiny far more and get water cooled, I cant return mine simply because I had it for a little although now, but Im going to chuck this issue in the garbage and get a thing different.

- the included fan spins amongst 700-1600 according to ASUS's utility (within 10% margin of spec)* at 700rpm, the fan is practically silent* at 1600rpm, the fan is quite quiet; mainly noise from the air passing through the blades* PWM Ɣ-pin style) allows motherboard to regulate speed- on my ASUS M4A87TD EVO motherboard, the fan draws from bottom and pushes into power provide intake fan (that's a plus in my book)- fantastic temperatures: 34C idle኉C loadቱC ambient (see other thoughts)- 3 large heat pipes that are flush with the aluminum bottom plate- AMD retainer bracket holds the heat sink on snugly without permit it to swivel (no requirement for backplate installation!) - no caps for the tops of the heat pipes make it appear like it's missing parts- wide style for stock AMD retainer indicates you will probably cover one memory module (and in my case half of a different)- getting the rubber push-pins into the fan itself was the hardest part for my huge hands (had to get my wife to assist)- instructions leave considerably to widespread sense (especially when figuring out how to get the rubber push pins to install into the fins of the heat sink)- included thermal grease is the common, runny-all-over-the-spot type (get this heat sink with the PTI-G3606 grease combo)- tall design will not function in thin mid-towers or desktop circumstances I have an AMD Phenom II X6 1075T running at the stock three.-3.5GHz speed. Even using Linpack and CPUBurn, I've not been able to get the processor hot enough to spin the fan at complete tilt - a really fantastic testament on the cooling performance of this heat sink. I used the Fan Specialist utility with my motherboard to force the fan at complete speed to evaluate noise. This fan is SILENT compared with stock cooler. The directions wanted the fan to be installed Following you clip in the heat sink. Unless your motherboard is out on the table, this is practically impossible to do. I ended up installed the fan on the heat sink and flipped the AMD retainer bracket with the cam lever to the prime side of the processor (in my tower), creating installation a breeze with the fan already mounted.

Dropped idle temps 6 Degrees C and load temps 20 Degrees C. Quiet performer, properly created and straightforward to use. Wonderful value. Its Large and the stock mounts arent actual great. I would have taken an egg of the rating but for the rest of the thing getting so great for the value. Had been working with an older Thermatake with a four inch fan that was noisey and not as cool simply because my case was as well tiny for this. New case, new heatsink, Considerably greater overall performance.

Fantastic cooler - cpu doesn't get above 50c even under load. That's fairly very good for 6000' exactly where I live. When you get suitable mounting hardware, straightforward install. This WILL NOT MOUNT on a 1366 motherboard Devoid of THE MOUNTING KIT. Look at that added บ in your calculations and don't wind up waiting an additional week to get the kit right after you figure this out the tough way. why the heck don't they contain the further mounting hardware? Sheesh.

Had a Zalman 7700 and it wasn't giving me any superior temps than the stock cooler on a Q6600. Mounted this monolith and the temps dropped about 20 degrees C. Now idles at 38C idle and 50C load. I'm particularly impressed. The 'crossbow' bracket... yea you gotta get it separately, but properly worth it. The fan is a bit of a pain to pull the pins via, then attach. Be careful cause they are sharp. Way to go Newegg for the superfast delivery. 1 day with typical UPS shipping!
