-Works good. Keeps temps around 32C idle (room temp around 26C) and maxes out around 50 in the course of tension tests. -I had to acquire the back plate to make it operate as intended.

Cooled my overclocked 940BE at three.6Ghz to 52C beneath Complete load! The stock heatpipe heatsink would usually run 62C+. Make positive to turn Intelligent Fan control off in the bios to get the full potential of this cooler. Mounting bracket for AMD is flimsy, program to order a bolt down kit from Prolimatech. I would definately get once more.

-Presently on a PH II 955 Black edition OC'ed @ 3.7ghz and it cool extremely nicely ྼ-30c idle) -The quality VS value is incredibly good - It is somewhat significant. It may well not fit in all cases.- Installation of the fan is a discomfort, the rest of the installation is okay. I Would certainly advocate this to any individual with (at least) a mid-tower due to the size of this thing :)

keeps my 710 extremely cool. idling at 19-25c with no fan! with fan i can idle at 16c no problem i maintain my room at 60ish occasionally lower but even in a 85 degree room i nevertheless by no means got more than 35 full load. uncomplicated install took much less than a minute ummm a small tall but thats to be expected i had no problem fitting it in any circumstances. oh and the blades are sharp! i knicked my finger 2 years ago when putting this on my 4400+ this thing is great i bought it over two years ago now and program on working with it for as long as i can get compatibility brackets for it for future cpus and mobos

I got this heatsink and when installing it noticed one of the push pins was broken. I emailed Xigmatek and Dohn Tsang helped me via the procedure of acquiring them replaced, he got them shipped to me the initial day I emailed xigmatek, and all i included was the issue, a picture of the box, and a picture of the broken push pin. When the package arrived, I realized they had sent me a crossbow mounting bracket, which was amazing mainly because I was about to purchase 1 after realizing the push pins are a low cost way to mount a large heat sink. I will undoubtedly continue acquiring from Xigmatek in the future, they have remarkable consumer service that swiftly handled my challenge, and didn't point the blame on me, and just asked what was wrong, and fixed my difficulty. I have to wait til christmas to install this due to the fact I dont have the time to unmount my motherboard to install the bracket...But I am also getting a HAF-932 to total this project... I am so thankful that I bought this product simply because considering that I am a college student, I am lacking cash and it would have been extremely disappointing if they didn't replace the broken parts simply because I had no funds at the time to replace the entire heat sink.

And don't put them together to see how they work, they dont come back appart...Installing the fan on the heatsink is complicated the rubber clamps will quite easly bend the heatsink if you are not carefull

N/A on the box it says it's compatible w/ amd cpu sockets, but it seems it's only compatible w/ intel cpu sockets. i looked for an answer and identified that retention modular bracket is supposed to be included for amd users but i don't see it. is the bracket 1 of the contents? or do i need to have to buy separately?(that indicates either xigmatek or newegg fooled me) i'm mad

Quiet! Quiet! Quiet! Upgraded AMD Phenom 965 stock cooler mainly because of noise and heat concerns. Stock cooler min was about 43 max 53-54. This beast lowered temps to 32 min to 48 under max load. Not an issue for me but this factor is massive... Do some study and some measurements for mid-tower situations. Fits fine in Coolmaster HAF 932

Direct Heat pipe get in touch with! Keeps my AMD Athlon X2 two.8 cooled down to 20 deg C at stock speed ƒ.8 Ghz). OC'ed to 3.four and it idles at 28 deg C. Under load at 3.4 it is at 45 deg C playing Fallout NV 4 about an hour. Installation is a pain. Instructions are vague at very best. This thing is quite large and had to remove side window on my mid tower. If you have ram with big heat sinks on them you may well want to come across a distinct cooler as I only have about 1Ǟ inch clearance between cooler and RAM. If something ever occurs to my 2 Ram chips and need replacement, I will have to remove cooler to get them out. Even with all the cons I can only get rid of 1 egg as it does its job very nicely. If you have a lot of expertise with developing systems, it will take about 30-45 min to install as you will most most likely have to eliminate your MOBO unless you have a full tower.Amd Athlon II X2 240 (Chipset)MSI 770-G45 (MOBO)Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 4GB ƒ x 2GB) (RAM)Diamond Radeon HD 5670 (Video Card)

Amazing cooler. Big 8mm heat pipes, direct get in touch with in between them and the CPU. A lot of radiator surface. The fan is extremely properly put together, fan mounts are rubber. Just a extremely properly put together package. It's not as huge as other heat sinks which is comforting. Even when pushing my i7-860 tough the temps are nonetheless way below stock. Documentation leaves a lot to be desired. It's not hard to figure out or appear up on the net but then once again why should I have to, isn't that the point of directions? For something like this I'm not going to knock an egg off since it's not that hard to figure out even with out directions but it's generally nice to have them. Purchase the mounting kit. You don't want some thing like this hanging more than your GPU off four plastic pushpins.

Wow. How's that for the review?I'll in no way use any OEM cr*p once again. My Intel two.93 G idles at ambientრ.It basically idles at MB temp.Employing the ASUS PC ProbeII I can watch the CPU temps jump when a graphics program runs, then immediately after five secs, it's back to ambრCertainly MB out install only. And Everyone ... do the function - appear up the suitable thermal grease. OK? Performed? Nope - you have to also analysis HOW to apply the goop. No squeeze, plop, and clamp or it's stomp, spit, and swear just about every time.OCZ OCZTFRZTC Freeze Extreme Thermal Conductivity Compound won the prize by my recollect. There is a web site that tests all these items (it's under "best coolers"I think) Those dam plastic pins!!!I mean c'mon people today, how 'bout a small yankee more than production? Why not a set of 304 stainless bolts with nylock nuts, some Lok-tite 404, and some 18 guage stainless bracing beams. I mean C'mon.....C'mon!!!!!!!!

Cons:The fins are so light they can be bent easily if you're not careful, somewhat difficult installation with crossbow mounting kit.

Pros:Well-built, light weight, great price, excellent cooling capacity!
Comment:
This is my first of this style of cooler. It was a bit tricky to install at first (using the crossbow mounting kit.) It's the best cooler I've ever used, and it's so light for it's size (only 600g with fan!) At $40 CAN you can't go wrong, and you won't be sorry. Be sure you have enough room to fit as it's 159mm tall.

It keeps my phenom x4 965 140w, idle at 27 and full load 55, at a three.92 ghz. now this is a revision two chip so it doesn't have a lot of oc leway, very quiet fan up to around 70% then a little noiser. not to tall for my 30$ mid tower case. working with arctic silver 5 and after 2 months it was at its coolest temps. havent bothered changing goop yet I wish it had support for a 2nd fan on the opposing side to improve air movement incredibly easy to set up. kind of odd heatpipe touching cpu configuration.

Cooler works as advertised, and is incredibly quiet. Wretched strategy for coupling the cooler base to the CPU. One of the four miserably created plastic attachment devices broke throughout installation. An email to Xigmatek "Customer Support" requesting an extra screw (probably worth much less than five cents) went unacknowledged, and no replacement screw was ever sent. I just scrapped the poorly developed attachment method and bought suitable four stainless steel nuts, bolts & washers to do the job. Works fine.

My idle temperature dropped 18 degrees Celsius. It allowed me to instantly overclock a 940 BE to 3.45. Highest temperature under load was 61 degrees, with the overclock. Instructions are terrible. They include tiny photos that don't display particulars and show the heat sink shaped differently than in reality. The captions fundamentally just say to install like the picture... Its fine if you don't will need the instructions but if its your first time you'll have a rough time.A bracket so the fan can blow towards the back of the case on AMD systems genuinely ought to be included. Really, that should just be the default position. If it faced the back of the case I would have given it five stars.

Heatpipe / Direct Touch! Purchased this in 08 for my Intel Core2 Quad 9450, has kept my system cool at an avg. of 37C, oc'd to three.6ghz (stock 2.66). Impressed the heatsink is comparatively clean and cost-free of dust!Fan moves a LOT of air and is fairly quiet compared to the rest of the system. None! Absolutely get it with XIGMATEK ACK-I7751 Retention Bracket. Shame on them for generating that separate. Factor is enormous, and I would not trust push-pins to maintain this seated evenly in the lengthy term.

Wanted to OC my Phenom and this is fairly low cost and had fantastic reviews so I decided to try it. Works wonderful, keeps CPU cool. Not really a con as you only have to do it when installing but the rubber pieces that hold the fan onto the fins are annoying as #$%@ to install. It's massive! Using a Roswell Challenger case and it misses the side plate by a 1ǘ inch or so.

Cons:s939 only mountable one way.

Pros:Good performance, quiet fan.
Comment:
Bought this to help silence and extend the performance of an old amd socket 939 pc being used as a living room htpc. Wanted a decently priced 120mm fan based cooler and this fit the bill; though specifically on s939, the cooler is only mountable in a north/south (top/bottom) facing airflow orientation.

Effortless install with AM3 socket, at least if you put it on prior to the motherboard goes in the case.Incredibly, very quiet when the fan is controlled by the motherboard.Keeps Phenom II X4 965 at 24-26 C at idle and 42 C max. Wonderful.Massive, but doesn't weigh too considerably. Big, but worth it. I've seen larger, but not positive they are any additional successful than this. This is the 1 you want. Seriously.

Phenom II x3 two.8GHz. BIOS set to shutdown when cores reached 70C. Stock AMD fan could not keep the CPU cool enough even in a climate controlled environment... BIOS shutdown. Running the CPU at 100%, in my garage with a temperature of 90F, CPU is at 45C under max load. It is huge and fits with a nick to spare. Appears like Intel folks complain far more about mounting issues. Also, case fans in my expertise have little to do with CPU cooling. I know simply because I attempted with the stock CPU fan with further case fans. End result was just far more noise.
