XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:Fan was a pain to install
Pros:Keeps cpu coolQuiet Comment:
This heatsink is awesome for it's price, keeps my cpu much cooler than with the stock heatsink. Installation was easy except for installing the fan, which is a pain. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:For AMD this HSF mounts with the fan blowing up towards the PSU and not the rear of case. No biggie.
Pros:Efficient Cooling, Price, Smaller Footprint than other brands. Comment:
Temps on an AMD6000+ dropped drastically over the stock heatsink provide with my CPU and it's much quieter although I did mount a Noctua 120mm fan which decreased the noise that much more! I idle at 45 degrees and game for hours at 51-53 degrees. Perfect and at night when I listen to online radio before bed I set the autoshutdown PC app to 1 hour and I don't hear my PC now...Excellent! |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:Pushpin design for securing (would prefer hard mount), silicon tips are a pain to install on the fan
Pros:Cheap, great cooler, includes fan, no backplate needed, quiet fan Comment:
For the price that this thing costs, it provides great cooling performance. There's probably a hard mount kit for this sold separately (didn't look) so I would say get that if you want a more secure mount and even better cooling. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:- big, so it may not fit all cases
Pros:- easy to install with the Xigmatek ACK-I7751 mounting kit- does a great job cooling the cpu Comment:
I purchased this heat sink along with the Xigmatek ACK-I7751 mounting kit and MC MX-2 Thermal paste. It was very easy to install - though I was helped by my case (HAF-932) which has a hole in the motherboard tray for heat sink mounting kits.Once installed, my load temps went from 55 to 43 on my E8400 chip. I am now easily running 4.0GHz and my temps are still below 55 under load. This is well worth the investment. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:No Scew in mount
Pros:Price Quality - Built very sturdy for the price, not those flimsy built japanese heatsinkEasy to install, pushpins are okRelatively small Comment:
In all, this is a very good all around heatsink for the price. According to everest, it keeps my qx6800 at 29C idle and 41C full loadGet it on discount, you wont be dissapointed. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:tricky to install
Pros:good value. easy to install if you know how. Comment:
temps went from 49->38 idle, 75->59 prime95. Was a bit worried about installing, but was able to use the pushpin install without much problem. The trick is to apply pressure to the heat sink so that the pushpins are flush against the motherboard. Then you can push down the pin and lock it into place without the pushpin popping out. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:none so far
Pros:-Great performance with a backplate-Quiet Comment:
with a 3.0ghz q6600 it keeps the temps under 60C when prime is running so that is good. I actually get rally good temps around 54 - 57 in a sonata III which has very mediocre air flow. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:same performance as stock heatsink.
Pros:it's large, heavy. Comment:
lows of 36, highs of 48 C. The included fan won't run when mounted upside down, which is about the only way it fits my motherboard mounting. Added a new fan so it will work. same cooling performance as stock cpu cooler. Not sure why I bought this. I'm reading reviews about 20 degrees idle - what the heck kind of processor runs 20 degrees with any air-cooled system??? |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:Couldn't find any.
Pros:Best bang-for-the-buck. This thing cools like a refridgerator, and installs almost on it's own. Comment:
Have this on a Q6600. My full load temperature while playing COD5 is maxed at 36C in a 20C room with fan at 100%. It is still quieter than the stock Intel at this setting. This cooler is large but takes up no more room than comparable coolers. And surprisingly weighs a lot less than many others. On my EVGA board it had lots of clearance even with a Dominator fan cooler on the ram slots. I used it with the Xigmatek Crossbow bolt-thru mounting kit and installation went very quick and was extremely secure when finished. Only a slight issue installing rubber isolators for fan mounting, but if you install them on the fan first and then use tweezers or small needlenose pliers they pop right on.After having a Zalman, and a Thermalright, I have no idea why anybody would not buy this cooler. It outperforms them, is lighter, and leaves a whole lot more cash in your pocket. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:Little heavy, highly recommend a bolt-thru kit
Pros:Awesome cooling capabilityInexpensiveStock Fan is very quiet Comment:
I purchased this cooler and the Thermaltake bolt-thru kit to use on an Asus P5Q-Deluxe with a Q6600. I'm running the Q6600 at 3.0, and this thing keeps the temp really low. with an ambient temp of 25 my cores are idleing at 32 degrees, and under full load they hit maybe 50 degress. Awesome cooler. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:- push-pins!!!- the thermal paste that it comes with was already solidified and unusable
Pros:- excellent cooling- cheap Comment:
I'm not sure how much of the HDT technology is just marketing but this cooler is a great cooler for a low price. Although push-pins are the work of the devil... I recommend getting a bolt-thru kit for this (either the thermalright bolt-thru or the xigmatek crossbow - whichever is cheaper). My temmps at idle on my Q9550 are a little high but I'm pretty sure that's because of the push-pin system. Once I get my bolt-thru kit, and the cooler is seated properly, I am confident my temps will go down considerably. |

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler I5 775 AMD compatible
Cons:Pushpins, razor-sharp fins
Pros:Performance, Size Comment:
From the temperatures I'm getting, this definitely cools better than the stock Q6600 cooler. However, the push-pins were much harder to install than the intel stock cooler. Possibly due to the large size of the Xigmatek restricting access to the push-pins. The thermal paste that it comes with isn't bad either, though it's the silicon type. There's plenty for one single use. The fan is whisper quiet and in my system with a Corsair VX550, 2 Tricools, and a 8800GS Glaciator fan, it isn't exceptionally loud. The buzzing from my speakers is louder than it. For the money, this is one of the finest HSF. |
Threw out the cheap thermal compound and used Arctic Silver instead. Bought this because it performs about the same as the top-rated heatsink at silentpcreview.com at about half the price. Keeps my overclocked, overvoltaged Phenom II x3 720 m 3.6 GHz and 1.45V running near 44 degrees C at idle, and in the low 50's at full utilization.
