Cons:None

Pros:Keeps the northbridge coolFanless
Comment:
Used this to replace a broken northbridge cooler on an ASRock 939DualSATAII. Temps are ice cold and it was a piece of cake to install. Highly recommended.

Pros:Cheap cost, small but see summary for compatibilty problem
Comment:
Dont fit on southbridge of p5ne-SLi and a big video card like EVAG 8800 GTS 320 Mo ACS3. Will try Thernmaltright HR-05 SLI instead.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:For some reason I had a hard time to properly tighten it on an A8N-E board. It blocks any dual slot video cards to unless you cot some of the fins. Beware.

Pros:Works great, looks great, there is no reason not to have this an every computer you own, especially when it goes on sale.
Comment:
This has been a great little addition to my board especially considering the noisy chipset fan problem related to A8N-E. If you already have a fan cooling the chipset region of your motherboard, then this is an even better purchase.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:None that I can see.

Pros:Solidly built, comes with all accessories and grease to install it. Silent. Yes silent if you care :)
Comment:
So this bad boy was reccommended thru the site to replace the POS stock fan on my Asus A8N-E mobo I bought last year.Temperature has dropped like 10 degrees. My only gripe is that it was an extremely tight fit underneath my VGA cooler which is also a Zalman. I guess that is not a drawback to the piece, just be careful that the cooler you buy will fit on the mobo next to everything else. I had to bend a few prongs on the VGA cooler to fit it. The pushpins were great, after wrenching the old ones off.Great fanless cooler, and absolutely silent! I will be buying Zalman products again for sure.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:Borderline cooling performance, may obstruct video cards.

Pros:Easy installation, noiseless, cheap.
Comment:
This heatsink is basically just a chunk of aluminum, it's failry cheap and quite affordable. Comes with thermal paste and adjustable bracket. The only advantage to this is that it is noiseless. Other than that, cooling is fairly mediocre, this is NOT designed for overclocking or high-performance chipsets such as the NForce4. I had this on an NForce4 and needed a fan on it otherwise it became VERY hot (80 degrees!).Overall, good cheap noiseless solution if the fan on your older motherboard dies. No good for newer hardware, not cool enough unless you attach a fan. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-07-07 12:43 PM

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:None.

Pros:All aluminum construction.Easy to read instructions.Standard mounting holes to replace almost any Northbridge fan.
Comment:
I bought this on sale for $6.99 in the eventuality that I had a Northbridge fan fail. The construction is all aluminum and will make a great heat transfer. The instructions are very easy to follow. The holes in the mounting bracket are standard and will easily replace any Northbridge fan.A simple yet effective design.

Cons:difficult to installmight be too big, getting in the way of graphics card

Pros:not noisylooks nice
Comment:
I'm not sure if this works, because I bought this at the same time I got AS5 and a new CPU fan. Although my temperature of my computer did lower about 6 degrees afterward with all my upgrades combined...I'm sure this does help more than stock heatsinks.only 10 bucks. not much to lose.

Cons:None.

Pros:Small size makes for easy fit and fairly easy to install.
Comment:
This chipset cooler seems to be the main solution to the ASUS chipset fan failures and so far seems to be doing the job. Finally no more whining fan, whew, peace and quiet! My motherboard is the ASUS A8V-E Deluxe and it has worked out good so far.

Cons:-None known; price maybe?

Pros:-Aluminum; dissipates heat quickly.-Large surface area.
Comment:
I didn't actually buy this for my northbridge...I bought it to cut it up. Got out the old hack saw and started cutting through it...turned it into 10 tiny MOSFET coolers. Yay for me!

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:under full load it does run about 7C hotter than the stock fan.

Pros:gives almost the same temperature at idlefanless -- completely quietdecent price for effectivly reducing fan noise.
Comment:
I ran prime 2004 for 1 hour to measure temperatures before and after installation. The temp was the same d idle but was about 7C higher about 1 hour of cpu load. I think it is still worth getting if you are into trying to make your computer as quiet as possible.

Pros:-cools much better than stock heatsink-looks cool-does an excellent job

Does a very good job. Heatsink went from 50C down to 35C. Also looks much better than the old asus heatsink. Downright cheap and does a good job for that price.

Cons:May have problems with newer graphics cards and clearence.

Pros:Great solution for the noisey dieing chipset fan.

East setup, I used AS5 with this and noticed, even with some vchip increase the temps were reasonable. I would but this again for future builds and I recommend this to thise looking for silent builds.

Cons:Not sure if it cools well

Pros:passive cooling...
Comment:
I bought one of these when my onboard chipset fan didnt turn anymore. It is good, theres no more fan noise and it is cheap. I do not have a chipset temperature monitor, but by touching it, it is very hot so i guess it is cooling well.

Cons:-Moderate installation-Small screws to handle

Pros:-Cools well-NoiseLess-Stylish if into case modding
Comment:
Bought this for my gigabyte mobo. I replaced the old stock heatsink it had with this zalman one, and my northbridge no longer gets as hot as it used to.This also looks very good with my case since I'm into case modding.I've bought many of these for various other chipset cooling projects. These are a very good price for the amount of coolign they do. Zalman knows how to cool it best !

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:Needs very good case cooling

Pros:Absolutely silent, of course.
Comment:
I had to replace a very noisy, close to failing NB chipset HSF from my Asus A8N-SLI mobo. I do not trust the replacement fan sent by Asus. Decided to go with a passive heatsink.I installed it with OCZ Ultra 5+ silver instead of the supplied thermal compound and let it burn in (~150 hrs). So far mobo temps are only +2C from before, but absolutely silent. Helpfully, I have an Antec Sonata II with a 120mm Antec tri-cool case fan at low RPM on HDD cage pointed right at it.I had no trouble installing this as I used the replacement fan that I opted out of as a template for the Zalman mounting arms - get yourself eyewear screwdriver for this assembly. I also reused the sleeved pushpins from the original NB HSF rather than the somewhat flimsy ones that came with the Zalman. There is 5-7mm of space between the top of the heatsink and the bottom side of my 6800GS video card. The bottom of the heatsink is about 4mm from the top of where a second video card would go in SLI. There is not enough clearance for effective cooling of this heatsink with an SLI setup.Overall a 4 out of 5 star heatsink. A passive solution for a hot running chipset with only +2C in temp.

Got this for my motherboard to replace the stock fan because the original one was too loud. When I put it on, it didn't feel very secure so I decided to just keep the stock one. Would recommend only if you're sure it will fit properly on your motherboard.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:-Obviously this cannot handle high thermal loads, if being used on an Nforce4 chipset, be sure to have excellent airflow in that area of the case.

Pros:-Cheap Price r $4-Good surface area-wide compatibility
Comment:
I bought this to replace that annoying 7000rpm fan on my DFI Nf4 Ultra-D mobo. I am on a Coolermaster Stacker; therefore, the airflow inside the case is superb, it keeps my heavily overclocked chipset under 60C without any noise.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:-need good circulation inside your case

Pros:-cheap-silent
Comment:
I used this heatsink to replace a whiney NF4 chipset fan. The heatsink gets very hot, borderline not being able to hold my finger to it, but so did the stock heatsink/fan combo. It's silent (duh) but if you have an NF4 chipset or another hot chipset you need to have a decent amount of air passing the heatsink or else you might burn something out.

Cons:- Too big to fit low profile chipset on some motherboards without obstructing the AGP or PCI Express.

Pros:+ Very efective+ Adjustable
Comment:
I use one like this on a 9800pro grahpic card with a large zalman fan over it using a bracket. It is very silent and the GPU temperature is well under what it used to be even with an Artic Cooling VGA silencer.

Pros:Good looking blue, and very efficient
Comment:
Well I had some trouble installing this device properly... screws are very small, and at first you ask yourself how they fit. But once installed, it works great, get really hot sometimes on the A8N-SLI 's northbridge but contrary to it,s hell noise fan, I love it . I've purchased 3 so far.---You cannot do sli on a FDI Ultra D or SLI with this heatsink as it will block the video card.--- This review was modfied by poster @ 06-01-06 10:00 AM

Comment:
Mobo chipset fan too loud?Buy this!It may not keep the chipset as cool as the fan, but one thing's for sure: it emits 0dB noise. At $9.12, you can't go wrong. At $5.98 on sale, even better =)Spend the $3 saved on a good burger.
