ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:Install is a tad tricky, nothing too hard though.

Pros:Very cheap/effective
Comment:
This is a great solution to the dieing fan problem on Asus A8N-E motherboards. I bought it and installed it as soon as mine started making weird noises. A cheap and easy solution who's only drawback would be the installation as you need to be carefull and take your time when installing the arms to match up with the screw holes on your motherboard.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:none?

Pros:effective coolingflexible fins, if needed
Comment:
I've fitted this heatsink to a DFI LanParty nF4 UT Ultra-D. I had to put my graphics card in the second PCIe slot and move the jumpers accordingly. This means it's in an 8x PCIe rather than 16x, but it doesn't make any difference. If you're using this motherboard with 2 PCIe graphics cards, I'd say this heatsink isn't for you.The fins on the heatsink are flexible, so if it almost fits in to your board, you can bend the fins around to accommodate a nearby card.My board is running at about the same temperature as before, but much more quietly.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:Made of Aluminium?

Pros:Looks great, works great.
Comment:
I bought this heatsink as a passive solution for my DFI Ultra-D. Of course, as you may know the configuration of the board would not allow you to run a video card in the top slot with this passive solution. So I had to pull a few of the teeth out of the Zalman so that my 7600 GT would fit and it works great. Still lots of cooling. If I ever upgrade to the 7900GT I would have to take it out again and pull some more, but if you case has good air flow this thing works awesome and it is truly silent.

I used this to replace my ATI 9100 card's heatsink and all I can say is that it is great! I could push my card's core 10 mhz more. That is pretty good I must say. Would purchase again!

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:Heat is trappedneeds thermal compounds

Pros:NO noiseNo fanNo worries
Comment:
I like these new heat sinks, I had them on my ICH6 chip that handles most of my devices on my computer, so It can stay cooled, I had replaced the original 1 inch heat sink that wasnt efficient with this chipset cooler, it worked, but When I put my temperature Probe in there, the temperatures was pretty high, 44C So as a solution, I had to install a 12cm fan on the case to pipe out the hot air inside produced from the Heatsink and Harddrives, cool air could enter and cool the chipset cooler, It works really efficiently. I like the design and color. This is worth buying.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:Clearance issues with some SLI boards and even some regular boardsQuite tall for a heatsinkINSTALLATION WAS A DRAG!

Pros:Passive = QUIET!No moving parts = no need to replace or breaking down of partsDoes an excellent job of cooling-moreso than I expectedc 10 dollars you cannot absolutely go wrong in even trying.
Comment:
Better than I ever imagined. From nTune and bios, my nForce4 SLI chip idles at 28 degrees, tops up at around 32. Heatsink feels warm so I know its doing the job. Mind you this is in a P180 with a 7700 Cu Zalman HSF and AS5, so that may be helping the temperatures a bit. Mounted on a A8N-SLI to rid the new ASUS fan (didn't even want to give it a chance given its prior history of its earlier model). Plus I didnt want to have to remove the motherboard to install this bad boy. So I took a chance and installed it right from the getgo before putting the mobo in the P180. After the risk of hearing stories about it overheating gravely upon bootup, I was nicely rewarded with cool temperatures even the stock solutions could not obtain. Now my P180 is almost as quiet as can be, except that I have one of the 3 fans at M setting to ensure proper cooling of the rest of the inside)On the flip side, installation was a huge drag. Even my small Asian hands couldn't properly get this to work the first time. I highly suggest using a magnetic screwdriver for the HS work (but not for the computer work of course!). If you have big hands ask your kid or a kid from the neighbourhood to help, because theres no way you'll be able to get it. Clearance issues with some motherboards can be a determining factor, especially with SLI boards. Luckily it clears my Asus SLI board, and will be able to fit the largest of PCI-E cards.Summary of the summary- Excellent product at only 10 bucks. Installation and compatibility are the only problems. For all who think it cant cool the nForce4 chips sufficiently- given the right case (ie P180) or even good airflow in the case as well as proper installation with some AS5 will ensure lower temperatures than a standard active solution.oh and one more thing- YES YOU CAN MOUNT IT ON THE A8N-SLI BOARDS WITH ACTIVE COOLING. THIS IS TO REMOVE ANY DOUBT STILL LINGERING. (and it does so very well might I add.)

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:Somewhat tricky to get installedKind of big

Pros:Great passive solution.Zalman makes quality products
Comment:
I used this in my Asus A8N-E to replace the annoying northbride fan that comes on the board. It was a little tricky to install, but nothing major.Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. It's quiet, and it cools great. My chip temp, and cpu temp actually went down 1-2 degrees. I expected it to up maybe 1 or 2 degrees being that it is a passive solution. I guess if you have good case cooling and air circulation it'll do a great job.I'm very pleased with this product.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:A tad hard to line up with the existing holes on motherboard. Also, unless you have a removeable mobo tray, you'll probably have to remove the motherboard to be able to unsnap the existing studs.. There are ways to get around this, but alas, I did it the long way.

Pros:Looks cool, doesn't make any noise, seems to work just fine.
Comment:
Fits nicely, but probably a bit tricky for the less adept to put in..It cools very well and will never wear out; unlike those cheap roller bearing fans that last about 3 months before they whine and die.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:-interferes with almost any graphics card

Pros:quiet, works well.
Comment:
This Zalman northbridge cooler is wonderful, provided that your graphics card is incredibly short. Perhaps this heatsink would be perfect for an SLI setup too, but I haven't tried that yet.I replaced the standard whiny 7500rpm northbridge hsf on my MSI Neo4-F Platinum motherboard, and now I can't use my Radeon X800 card any more. There's about 2mm clearance with my X600XT card, which is adequate because the heatsink really doesn't get hot anyways. In fact, I replaced my X600XT's crappy HSF with another Zalman ZM-NB47J and it's been working well for several months now. No heat problems at all. This is an essential product for Neo4-F owners, but prepare to cut a few tines off if your videocard interferes.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:no space for a fan

Pros:silent, clever mounting mechanism, easily compatible with many motherboards, blue
Comment:
I bought this for a DFI LANParty UT NF3 250 to replace an ill-fitting heatsink I had purchaced before. the previous heatsink didn't fit properly (mounting bracket issue) so I ordered this. initially I had some confusion when it came to how exactly the heatsink mount works, but quickly found the hilarious (yet suprisingly simple and clever) swinging arms.the colour of the heatsink is one of the reasons I ordered it; it goes well with the lighting theme I have in my computer. and it is silent (duh. no fan.) so that is definately a plus, if you're into quiet computers.the downside is, Zalman designed it to run fanless. I would prefer if they could at least include some way of putting a fan on it (I'm currently working on the problem. I believe that screwing a fan onto the side might work.) because some people (namely overclockers on a budget) need active cooling. (me included)overall 5/5, because of it's compatibility, price, ease of installation. my fan issue is something for me to deal with.

Pros:Easy install with decent instructions.Temps

Replaced my stock NB fan on my A8N-E even though it wasn't failing. Just wanted less noise. My temps originally were 35 but went down to 32 under full load. Credit the excellent airflow of the AC Cooling Silentium T2 case as well.

I got this to replace my Abit NF7-S fan. The installation was really easy and I did not have to take the Motherboard out like other have sad.I snipped the plastic heads of the stand offs and let them drop behind the MBO then pulled them out the bottom.I placed the new clips in and carefully pushed them in while Lifting on the MBO a little.I'm very happy with this cooler. No more noisy fans for me.

Pros:Inexpensive solution.Looks nice.

This was the best solution for my Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum north bridge fan crapping out.I always like to opt for low to no noise products. This seems to work fine.I bought 3 more to install in my other machines. It's a little tricky to get the adjustable arms in the right locations and fiddle with the tiny nuts.I suggest taking off the existing heat sink and using it as your template.

Pros:Cools goodpassive
Comment:
This is a good replacement northbridge cooler. Since it's passive it doesn't collect dust and is quiet. It cools a lot better tahn the stock cooler on my soltek NF2 board. It takes some time to line up the brackets so it will fit right but not difficult at all.

I bought this to replace my crappy chipset fan on an Asus mobo. What can I say, for $9, you can't lose. It does the job, and looks good to boot. However, if you have large hands, it might be tricky to install the small little brackets.

ZALMAN ZM-NB47J Heatsinks only
Cons:A little awkward to install.

Pros:Passive cooling, so it's silent.
Comment:
Installing this heatsink take a little patience, as aligning the mounting holes with the holes in the motherboard takes a trial and error approach.Still, it's an improvement over the fan/heatsink that some motherboards use to cool the northbridge, namely Asus A8N-E... The heatsink on this motherboard is a joke ! Underneath the fan, is a flat piece of metal, and the fins are just bent up portions of that same flat piece of metal.Highly recommended, nay, this heatsink is a must!

Cons:Installation was annoying but not impossible.

Pros:Excellent NB cooler. Does the job well.
Comment:
Excellent NB cooler, I bought two of these for two NF7-S boards. I replaced the stock hsf on both boards with these and they're much nicer without the noise. Keeps the chipset cool and it fit perfectly without a hitch. MY Abit fans didn't die as some have for some people, but I replaced the stock ones with this the 1st day I got the boards purely for less noise + the praises it got from other reviewers. A very good heatsink. I bought it to replace my noisy stock asus one and I am very happy with it. The only problem is that it doesn't permit 2 gfx cards in sli to fit in my case so if I buy another card I will have to take it out.

This is by far the best passive NorthBridge cooler I have found to date and only for $10.............wow.I no longer have to worry about that crappy stock hsf spinning itself to death at 8400 rpm - 9375 rpm!!!!As quiet as you're going to get, no fan.Fits with ease with some room to spare on my A8N SLI Deluxe and I have the 6600GT in the blue PCI-E slot 1.
