Pros:Amazing Multi-threaded performanceExcellent OverclockabilityGreat Value Comment:
I've owned this chip for a while now, and have never had any problems with it at all. I run it 24/7 at 4.2ghz with 1.55v and a 3ghz northbridge with 1.4v.With -30c ambient with an h70 i get 4.8ghz at 1.6vIf you have a large computational workload and don't have a huge wallet, this is for you. |

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:None really. 6 cores is lots of power for almost all types of users
Pros:Fast, good processor.Easy to overclock and can certainly go faster that rated stock speed. Make sure you get an aftermarket cooler as this chip gets hot when OC'd and under load. Comment:
You can't beat NCIX's price on this processor. Couple it with a quality MoBo and you've got yourself a powerful machine.Unless you are a super-gamer or like to benchmark, this CPU will give you the power you need at a reasonable price. It should also hold up to future applications and technology for some time. Overall very happy with this CPU. |

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:
Turbo multiplier not unlocked downwards like the normal multiplier is.Of course it's slower than higher priced CPUs but that's to be expected.
Pros: It's a phenom II with 6 cores and can overclock well and stay within the same thermals and power as the phenom IIx4 Comment:
I've upgraded from an Athlon IIx4 and I was surprised that I did notice a slight difference in performance even when just browsing the net (I open a LOT of tabs in chrome).I had my old Athlon IIx4 overclocked to 3.2GHz. My motherboard is the M4A785-M, so it's not a very good overclocker. I can't get anything stable past FSB 250MHz even with lowering all the multipliers. So anyway, I've overclocked this guy to 3.4GHz with a turbo to 4GHz. Currently testing stability. I have not changed the voltage.Temps on load are 38*C max with 4 cores loaded at 3.4GHz with my sythe Katana II. This is an improvement from the Athlon IIx4 3.2GHz at 45*C max. I thought it was a misreading but when I felt the heatsink with my hands, it certainly felt that cool.I've disabled C1E and cool n quiet but I still get drops in the CPU frequency. Even during full load on all 6 cores. I'm going to see if there is another update for my bios. I had the latest when the 6 cores came out. Frequency keeps randomly dropping to 1.8 from 3.4 and the temperature goes down accordingly. The turbo also became much more aggressive when I disables those, often one core going to 4GHz just because of a few % more CPU usage.Overclocked, before switching I tested my athlon at cod4 at 1280x720 with a radeon 4850. min framerate was a bit below 50fps in "Crew Expendable" with my new overclocked CPU, it went no lower than 75FPS. Note that cod4 can only make use of 2 cores. So also think turbo.Overall, I am more pleased with this CPU than I expected and hope to get a good motherboard at some point (looking at the MSI mATX board that supports 8x 8x crossfire) to do some 4GHz no turbo overclocking. In the meantime, my folding will have to make due with 6 3.4GHz cores.I've owned this less than a day. Maybe I will start updating my site again and do a review on this processor. |

Pros: Fast and Cheap! Comment:
I got this to replace my old Athlon x2. Wow, that's a big difference. It also seems to OC pretty well, though it kicks a bit more heat than my old one. Rad that this CPU and the one I bought cheap 3 years ago work on the same mobos. Not sure about the stock cooler as I never used it. |

No unlocked multiplier... but still easy to overclock.
Pros: 6 cores, ridiculously easy overclocking, cheap! Comment:
I bought this CPU for my very first build, as it was a fairly inexpensive CPU and had good reviews. The overclockability of this CPU is very good as I got it to 4ghz with a noctua cooler very easily (first time overclocking/building computer). Also the price for such a good CPU is very good.I definitely recommend purchasing this CPU if your on a budget and want great performance! |

Cons:
Phenom II temperature sensor are not as good as intels. You have to do your research when overclocking.
Pros: Overclocked to 4.05GHz with only 1.4V on a Crosshair IV motherboard. (Using H70) Comment:
Excellent processor for the price. x264 uses all 6 cores. This chips makes compressing 1080P video a very short affair. |

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:
Although it overclocks easily over 4.0Ghz, it is not with an unlocked multiplier. The included heatsink is not so great...
Pros: 6-cores, great for multitaskingSince most programs can't use more than 2 cores, you can easily play/encode movies at the same time over it. Comment:
For the price, it is simply amazing, that is great when you work with applications that need that much cores and not speed. That needs to be a primary focus when choosing this processor over another one.Bought one, bought a second one for a workstation, don't regret either of them! |

Pros: -Speed / Core Count-Price-Power consumption Comment:
I got this a few months back, because I was doing a fair bit of video encoding. I must say, it was worth it! The encoding went by a lot quicker. Now that I'm done with that, it's great having enough CPU power to run games, game servers, and various other tasks - all at the same time. These things overclock like a beast, so do yourself a favour and get a nice 890 board and a good cooler, then have some fun. Mine is being cooled by a Coolit Eco. Temps are in the 20's according to the sensor, but I heard that's off a bit, so I boosted it by 12 in Speedfan. It hardly ever exceeds 40C. (Although encoding *will* do it.)For the speed and number of cores you get, the price is quite incredible! This review was modfied by poster @ 10-17-10 04:07 PM |

great cpu it was a lot fast then i thought it was and im use to a i7 930 at 4ghz. The stock cool is weak the cpu run crazy hot a load even in a case with good air flow and its sounds like bees are in my case because of the cpu fan |

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:
Consumes a LOT of power when overclocked above ~3.9GHzApparent faulty temp sensor on earlier revisions (reads low)
Pros: Great Value OverclockabilityMultitaskingRuns on Air j 4.1GhzTurbo Mode - shall you decide not to manually overclock Comment:
Very flexible and capable processor for the money. I'm using it in my main workstation that occasionally transcodes X264 and other HD formats for my PS3. I can continue to run Photoshop, and a handful of other applications while it's doing this in the background without problems. It's cooled by a CM hyper 212 heatsink, and doesn't climb above 38C, ever. Though not as impressive in games as similarily priced i series intel processors, it is extraordinary at multitasking and overclocking, imo. |

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:
Can use a better heat sink/fan. Especially when overclocking.
Pros: Very fast. Can be over-Clocked.Price difference is huge. Comment:
I purchased this CPU with recent gaming pc build. and i couldn't be any happier. This AMD process is fast and has potential to be over clocked to a much higher speed. People say the fan is too noisy. I have had no issues with the sound level of my fan/processor. When it comes to price and performance, you will not go wrong with this baby.Brian B. |

Pros: PowerfulPriceCooling Comment:
A monster CPU for an affordable price, not as powerful as Intel's Hex beast but for less than 1/4 of the price it makes due.No problems running dozens of applications that would normally bog down a dual/quad core.I didn't see the point of the 1090T, this seems to overclock very easily to substantially high frequencies.Best bang for the buck CPU. |
I've bought this CPU with an ASUS M4A89GTD mobo and a Hyper 212 heat sink, overclocked it to 4ghz stable. While it is not as fast as the Intel CPUs clock for clock, the extra 2 cores more than make up for it if you run multithreaded apps / multitask a lotIf you dont mind having to work for your overclock this CPU pretty much has the speed potential of the 1090t, just harder to do without the unlocked multiplierWith my new rig I do mainly audio composition running a ton of virtual instruments at the same time and video encoding, where having more real cores > raw speedAbout gaming, I run multiple MMO clients + few apps open at the same time or play BFBC2, which makes use of all 6 coresIf you run a game and nothing else on your pc, go i5 / i7If you multitask or run multithreaded apps, go phenom x6More and more applications and games will be multithreaded in the future, so while the Intel looks better in most gaming benchmark this isnt representative of whats coming up, see the performance of phenom x6 vs intel i5 / i7 in the multithreaded BFBC2GREAT VALUE, would buy again over an i5 2500k for the use I make of my computer
