6 core and cost. thats about it lets see amd is just slow period. i did a construct for my moms friend and got him these. i thought they would be definitely rapidly since its 6 core. but didnt impress me at all. i have the intel i5-750 overclocked to 3.4ghz with h50 water cooling from corsair and my personal computer was way faster and would leave this amd processor in the dust. but now u know why amd is so cheap is due to the fact they cant touch intel period. Super stable, runs cool, crazy quickly compared to other processors in the exact same cost range. Doesn't even FLINCH when loaded with tasks. Operating a internet browser with 10+ tabs open, iTunes, and a three-D CAD modeling software only puts it at five-10% utilization. Stock cooler is kinda loud and the base isn't great. What can you anticipate for a 6 core processor under 赨 although? I spent the ย to buy a Hyper212+ and never ever looked back. Ditched the stock cooler instantly for a Cooler Master Hyper212+. Overclocked to three.6GHz on all six cores without having ever receiving above 58C although playing newer games like Dead Rising two. I don't usually write numerous item reviews, but this processor is just too wonderful to keep to myself. Products like this are what maintain me a loyal AMD customer.

I am recommending this to all my consumers desiring a new custom-built laptop or computer (good for my small business!). If you want raw gaming speed exactly where price is not a factor, go for Inte*. Otherwise if you need the highest efficiency/price ratio with a 6-core at the price of a 4-core, obtain this.Get this even though nonetheless accessible - it might soon go out of stock - the next stock refresh may have a greater cost (or as is apparently NewEgg's policy on high-selling items, might entail a high shipping cost). Runs cool even with stock HSF, overclockable easily to three.five GHz (a cooler upgrade preferable for greater OC) at your own risk. The stock fan has heatpipes, copper base, silent (unless damaged) and appears adequate. Not as fast as Inte*. Hardly a cons at the cost. WARNING! If you have a older motherboard, better not obtain this. Check the motherboard manufacturer's web page for CPU compatibility (even if it says compatible with a BIOS update BUT says rev., it is NOT compatible even right after BIOS update! The revision number also should match!) Also the motherboard ought to be able to deal with 125W+ CPUs.If you are going to get a motherboard also, obtain only 1 with AM3 (not those AM2+/AM3) socket, AMD Northbridge 890FX or 890GX with 140W CPU support (hint: purchase one with USB three. and SATA III - they are far more or less guaranteed to support Phenom II X6).

This CPU is remarkable and a good deal. 赓 for 6 cores all at two.8 GHz and 3.3 GHz turbo core! This cpu competes with Intel's i7's very easily. Me and my friend, who has an intel I7-920, ran the similar benchmark and this CPU beat his. Going from an Intel Core two Duo to this was amazing. None seriously except the 1090t went down shortly after I bought this :( I extremely recommend this CPU to anyone wanting bang for their buck.

Went from a PII945 to PIIX61055 for gaming and workstation, for superior performance utilizing 3DS Max and couldn't be happier. It dropped into my Asus M4A78-E with a uncomplicated bios update. I have it cooled with a ZALMAN CNPS10X QUIET and it idles 37 Celsius even though its over clocked to three.2ghz. The cpu so far has handled any task that I have thrown at it no difficulty, and to be honest there are extremely few factors that max out all 6 cores but that's mainly due to the fact 90% of the apps are not written to use much more than 2 cores. Out of the applications that I use that can handle 6 threads ƓDS max , Photoshop , Hand break, left4dead two and ripping blue rays ) only 3DS Max , hand break and ripping blue rays are able to max out the CPU. All in all I'm really pleased with my purchase and I'm still considering on finding yet another chip to put in my server. My only genuine complaint is that Amd never released the 95 watt version of this chip to the public and instead kept it for oem's only. My PII 945 was a 95 watt version and taking into consideration that I leave my PC on 24ǝ I would have loved to have the lower powered version to assist cut some price off of my electricity bill. A different factor that I wasn't crazy about was the stock fan , it's genuinely noisy and it doesn't keep the chip cool enough in comparison to how a great deal noise it makes. The last con is the price drop but that is to be expected , I paid 225$ Canadian tax and shipping included and now the chip is 200$ but that isn't amd or neweggs fault that's just the way points go in the tech business. Extremely complicated to bog this CPU down. Lately though playing Crysis two at 1920x1200 on highest setting, the cpu was only running at 40% load.Even though I suspect my OCed ATI 4890 was the bottleneck there. It was at 100% most of the time. none whatsoever. I have kept it at stock speeds the last couple months, I just ordered a new heatsink so I'll be OCing it soon. Seems like a super stable CPU though.

Cons:Stock fan

Pros:Good priceGreat performance
Comment:
My only complaint with this was the fan that came with it. It was obnoxiously loud! I could hear it several rooms away when I put it under any kind of load. After replacing it with a 3rd party heatsink + fan I'm 100% satisfied with this purchase. I'm generally running anywhere from 2-6 programs at once and I've noticed a huge boost in performance. There just is no slow down, everything runs smoothly. I haven't tried gaming on it yet so I can't say how it performs for that, but for a work computer it's amazing!

Cons:Slightly slower in some applications

Pros:Six cores does more work
Comment:
I purchased this about a week ago as a replacement for my dual core desktop. I was trying to decide between an i5 and this (since the i7's are still prohibitively beyond my budget build target). The pc is going to be used as a general desktop with occasional home video editing. I have no intention of overclocking nor running extreme games. Overall this processor is more than sufficient for my needs and allows for a little bit of future proofing. As one reviewer mentioned, the oem cooler that came with it is quite simple. The fan itself doesn't even have the amd logo and the heatsink is a simple single clip mechanism with a very plain heatpipe-type heatsink. At full cpu loads, this fan is quite loud (but not annoyingly loud). It is still quieter than a comparable 80mm fan pushing the same cfm. For a budget build, this 6-core cpu works great and while it may not beat the competition in performance, it is more reasonably priced.

I got this part of a bundle deal and am very happy with the cpu, however the stock cpu n cooler are hideos, puny and weaksauce. I purchased a ECO Coolit for 49.99 and was well worth it. I do mainly Video Editing, gaming and extracting large 4gb files, this process has made it very quick to do multiple tasks at the same time and I would recommend this for fans of Intel that are sick of intel prices.Mine had no certificate of authentcity, others have had the same thing not to worry though. Used this in my first build. Relatively easily overclocked to 4ghz. Performs great and for the price the performance seems unmatched. I'm very happy I went with this CPU. I was looking at an i7 but for over $120 more I didn't see it being worth it for what I do. As most already know Linus has a video with a stable OC at 4ghz if you are interested.
