This is a nice board, great features, BUT. The BIOS is more difficult to use than some I've used before, they're OK, just different. The big problem is the nForce drivers. If you load them with an SATA optical drive installed, you get the BSOD with the error msg ''Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL''. Unending BSODs with a SATA DVD drive. The easiest way to solve this is to use an IDE DVD drive; took me 2 days to figure this out, reasearching the internet. No problems since. My first ASUS board and I'm not impressed.

Very nice board. Bought it with a 3gig duo 8400 CPU (45nm),and 4 gigs of Corsair RAM. I had a devil of a time with the chipset drivers though. Seems that the drivers for the chipset AND the Realtek audio would not work for me. Called ASUS (talked to a live tech within about 4 minutes) and they said Reset the CMOS, uninstall all the drivers, and go to Nvidia and Realtek for the latest drivers for the chipset. Works wonderful now!

Great MB for the price. I'm running two 512MB 8600's in SLi, 2GB PC6400, and an E8400. Thing runs great without any problems. I haven't tried OCing yet, so we'll see how the hw handles it.

Bought this board to replce a DOA XFX 680I LT SLI in the E8400 barebones kit. Worth the extra $70 rather than take a chance on a sceond XFX board that MANY had the same issue with. Hooked everything up, had to change one or two things in the BIOS,setup my raid, no problems. Aside from a bad stick of OCZ Platinum(failed the post memory check) also bought in the e8400 barebones kit, this is running like a champ so far. Adding Windows XP 64 bit as we speak.

Cons:Placement of SATA connectorsNeeds more Fan Headersplacement of certain slots

Pros:SLI 2.0 PCIE slotsCheap

Good board. Would purchase as a budget gamer build. I have 8800GTs running in this board with a quad core and 4 gigs of ram. No problem, except that my Accelero S1s cover the SATA ports so i can only use 2 of them with 90 degree cables. Be aware before you try something like that! Other than that, I wish the board had more fan headers OVERALL, good board and Would buy again. Does not have problems that certain other boards face.

ASUS P5N-D ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:DUAL PCI-E slots too close together,

Pros:Dual PCI-E at full x16 SLI, E-Z Connectors, Many USB ports
Comment:
This board has ran great for a couple weeks now and not one sound crash. Not sure if it is specific to this board but the PCI-E slots are too close to run multiple cards even in my full tower with 120MM fans. All in All I am impressed with the board.

Great motherboard! Fastest, cheapest motherboard on the market. nVidia chipsets are evolving but extremely fast anyway. Dont buy unless you are planning to use DDR3 in the future, because its not supported. GREAT BUY!!!!

I bought it last week. Unable to overclock my Q6600 G0 rev properly. Seems like I NEED to increase not only core voltage, but also HT voltage to be able to go past 1200 fsb (1200/4x9 = 2700mhz). Maybe im doing something wrong...I'll try look it up later. Response to Mike's review on the comment: ''One other small detail, this board is advertised as 750i but cpuz says it is actually 650i. If anyone can clear this up that would be superb!'' Cpu-z is unable to detect it properly, at least the current version of it isn't. I had the same ''problem'' with Everest. It showed me 650i. I downloaded the latest version of it, and it now shows me 750i ^__^ so don't worry. It's all good.

ASUS P5N-D ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Tight PCI-E slot spacing bla bla bla

Pros:Price bla bla bla
Comment:
After many issues trying to get SLI working on this board with EVGA 8800 GTS cards I found that the PCI-E slot spacing was too tight to allow for proper cooling of the cards so it is useless for SLI... Go with another board if you have fans on your video cards because there is no room on this board for anything with a fan! ASUS is generally a great name for motherboards and this mobo started up without an issue, but the design for SLI sucks to say the least.

Well i have tryed my 2 8800GTs in a 650i mobo and a 680i mobo, and this board beat the 650i by a lot in cpu overclocking and 3DMARK06 scores,it also beat the 680i by a little maybe because of the PCI Express 2.0Mobo 650i 680i 750icpuOC 3.2GHz 3.5GHz 3.52GHz3DMARK06 15230 17240 17420The 3DMARK was done with the same driver for the 680i and 750i,and gpuz says both cards are running at 2.0x16 on the 750i is this possible This review was modfied by poster @ 03-01-08 05:46 PM

WOW!!! what a mobo.. To the poster below this is a 750i SLI board because on the nVidia site, this is the one that they are selling.. Time to talk about the board. Paired up with a Q6600 OC'D to 3.72 GHZ!!! (with good cooling of course) Running 8GB of 800Mhz ram an 2 8800 GTX in Sli mode (quite a tight fit, they are practically touching) This is one of the best motherboards for the price :)

After I got past the driver issues (which directly involved windows XP as I did not have service pack one on my disc) this board is great. Do not use the AI overclock tool as it is completely worthless. Just raise the FSB in ''manual'' mode and you will be fine. I have my E6600 overclocked to 3.0 GHZ on standard air cooling and it is idle at 34 C (40 C on load). The other AI tools are good though. The PCI-E slots are a tad close together so if you plan to SLI and have wide video cards, you may be in trouble. In spite of these small issues, this board has been great and for the money you can't go wrong. PCI-E 2.0 and SLI for under $200 is a great deal! One other small detail, this board is advertised as 750i but cpuz says it is actually 650i. If anyone can clear this up that would be superb!

I got two 8800 gt's in SLI with pci-e 2.0 and it's awesome. High quality mobo and most bang for your buck compared to any other motherboard in same price range when comparing features.

Excellent board. Runs great with my new E8400 processor, Corsair XMS2 memory and EVGA 8800GT SC video card. Posted first time with no problems. Packaged with nice cables and extras. The Asus utility programs are great and make overclocking and system monitoring very easy. I highly recommend this board!

Paired this with a new Core2 Extreme QX9650 and 2 GTS 512MB SLI'd and it runs like a dream, just as good as the 780i, but more cash left in your pocket!!! Has stability of steel when overclocking, got mine up to 3.96GHz with temps hovering at 45C @ 1.365 volts. The Bios is extremely configurable and easy to use (Duh, ASUS) Holds all the new CPU's, pre-ordered the QX9770, hopes up for better speed!!!(not that it already isn't fast) 50fps on any game is easy to reach on super-high (except Crysis...) FSX is more like FX with a giant monitor!!!get it for the price!!!

ASUS P5N-D ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:northbridge runs hot

Pros:beats out the p5n-e by a long shot
Comment:
I'm really impressed with this board. it's much cooler than the p5n-e with my q6600, and i love the AI overclock (I don't trust my own math). I sent it up 10% to run the cpu at 2.64GHz and the ram at 877, and it's stable and cool. the northbridge gets hot so add the optional fan. I'm running 2 8800GT's in SLI and performance is better than i expected. I didn't get the 780i chipset only because of the known issues with my processor, so i can't comment in terms of value for price difference; but overall, i'm really pleased with this board so far.jake
