Very cheap, quiet and work nicely with the GTX 460. Cables are extremelly long. Specially for an Antec 300 user like me, where i have to literally location all the cables proper subsequent to the PSU mainly because it was that lengthy. Be conscious is a HEAVY PSU!

Comment:
Sturdy and well built, fans are ultra quiet (I really had to take a flash light and look at the fans to make positive they had been running)! Has really lengthy, meshed cables, which are perfect for the case it's in. I have seen none so far, it's handling all workloads I give it just fine. I have an older PC running a Tyan Tiger motherboard and dual AMD MP 1900+ Ƒ.62ghz) processors, in an old Antec server case (hence the need to have for lengthy cables). This factor is loaded with tough drives and DVD burners, and tons of fans (makes for a quite loud pc). In the past, this factor has chewed up and spit out nearly each PSU that has ever been in it (except the 1 PC Power and Cooling I had in it, but that went into an additional construct a lengthy time ago), so it's been tough to locate a superior PSU for this computer. This personal computer's role modifications day-to-day: it's my backup rendering box, video and audio encoder, network storage, and numerous other items - a pure workhorse. It had been down for a lengthy time, and I finally needed it once more. Mainly because I couldn't afford a 赨+ PSU for an 8 yr old box, I went with this Cosair, since it was a good cost and highly rated. In no way owned one of theirs prior to, but after running for 6 months and still going, I'm convinced. Now, I trust two PSU producers.

This is a very good priced (if you can catch it at the ideal time), dependable, green, and very good power supply. It is fairly heavy for a power supply, but makes up for it. Corsair is a great corporation with great customer service (which I utilized for a earlier power supply with a full refund), and comes with a amazing five year warranty. Definitely a nice acquire that will last long and maintain u with today's power hungry gaming market. None so far.

I'm just about to replace this PS with a new one because I need one with at least 650 Watts for my new GPU. I thought I had better write a review first. I've had this thing for 3.5 years, running 3 different builds, overclocked two different CPU's and it's been an absolute trooper. Always trust Corsair products. It's always been quiet, cool and steady. Sad to see it go. Buy this PS for any situation unless you're running more than one GPU.

Picked this up for $60 with pm to replace my toast coolermaster psu that was making a high pitch noise, First off I love this power supply the price to performance is very good. I was able to do a lot of cable management with the long cables, the sleeved cables are gone very well. Runs cool and quite. Recommended to any who needs a mid range psu for budget build.

Cons:- Not modular

Pros:-Quality build-Cable sleeves done right-Reasonable price

Haven't gone wrong with a Corsair power supply yet. No matter which model I've gotten. The company is doing a great job. As for this unit, the only thing I would change is to make the cables modular.

I ran with my stock power supply with a video card that shouldn't of been able to run off it for about a year while playing WoW, had no issues, But then when i played games with more graphic requirements, my powersupply crashed...Then i got this power supply, It ran so much quiter then my old one, handles the entire computer without sweat, Very nice casings on the cables, and The Casing it came in itself was very nice, i now have a new dice bag :)

Cons:Cable sleeving is somewhat poor.

Pros:Good performance, extremely quiet
Comment:
While the power supply itself is great, keep in mind that if your case doesn't have a lot of extra space, going with a modular psu would be better for you. The color scheme of black/orange isn't that hard to match with some orange leds or cathodes, too, if you're into that.

Cons:price?

Pros:Quiet compared to most.
Comment:
This psu is outstanding. Ive been running it in a HTPC i built 10 months ago, the fans are extremely quiet which is nice when used in a HTPC. the price point is a downfall being $114 for a 550W but you get what you pay for. and Corsair is not a fly-by-night company.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:- Screw holes a bit awkward to align when installing in some cases. Took me a while to put in my psu.- Maybe just slightly expensive

Pros:- Very Quiet- Reliable- Corsair Quality- Sleeved Cables and included plastic ties
Comment:
Runs really quiet. I was looking for a replacement PSU that was impossible to hear so I could run my rig 24/7 without my mom complaining all the time, and this did the trick. Also is a very reliable PSU and the cables are sleeved- looks a lot more pro.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:Not modular - a weakness to some.

Pros:On sale at the time I bought it - so $22 immediate discount and $30 rebate. The original price of $114 was too high.Good brand and seems sturdy (heavy).Monitored outputs very stable.Warranty excellent for price (5 year).24 pin, but pull off 4 pin for 20 pin boards.PCI-E connectors.High Efficiency.
Comment:
I got this as I'd sent away my only other 24 pin PS and wanted a spare. While this is clearly different from the 620HX - at half the price I sure can't find fault!Altogether - a person might save enough to pay for an upgraded in PS, just because of the low price and high efficiency of this model.Since I saw no sign of rebate being accepted/processed, I called and found out that submissions take weeks to be input into the online system.Overall, though, an unbelievable deal so far!

I've been building and fixing PC's for over twenty years and have never seen a PS as nice as this-one. You take this out of the box and wrapping and all you see is quality. Cons: It would have been nice to see some better documentation on splitting the 8 wire MB wire into two 4-wire connectors.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:Not modular, but for the price it is worthwhile. The intake fan is below (if you don't have a top vent) the unit, if your CPU heatsink is too big it could limit its heat removal.

Pros:High power efficiency, durable components, well protected wires, large 120mm for easy heat dispensing, honeycomb outtake slit for better heat removal.High variety of connectors.
Comment:
It is soild piece of hardware, as Corsair's reputation presents, you can be sure you are getting a worthy investment. The PSU comes with a full package: its very own carrying bag, you can use it for other item storage as well. A bagfull of plastic straps for some cable management, you will appreciate it as the cables can be messy if left alone. The PSU can be easily mounted to your standard rig, my emachines H5212 can easily handle it dispite its small interior, it comes with plenty of connectors for a full case of hardwares. Its got 2X6 pin (one has 2 extra) PCI-E connectors for your video card, and it is a certified power supply for AMD/ATI card (single 4870 & lower), so rest assure your card will handle that little extra overclocking. Its got 24 pin connector for MOBO ATX socket, the last 4 can be taking off if you got a 20 pin socket, it is very thoughtful as it even has a 8 pin 12V ATX connector that can also be taking in half to put into your MOBO's 4-pin 12 V socket. If your mobo has 20pin socket and a 4pin 12v atx socket, DON'T use the last 4 pin from the 24 pin connector, but use that 8pin connector, you can take into half and it will do the job for you. Use the wrong connector can fry your board, becareful and read the manual before you start.Overall the PSU is perfect for a quite and energy-efficient PC, as it will handle everything within its power output with ease and will last a long time (that is without defect and misuse). With the rebate you can expect a worthwhile saving and a great piece of hardware.
