Got the first one with ticking noise, looks like a re-build one.The second one with bag and quite quiet. Only low noise when direct hear from the back. Don't why, coz my VX450 and HX620 is really almost no noise.Got the same problem with my HX620, first one got ticking noise, need RMA.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:Fan position

Pros:Build Quality, Cable Selection, Compact size
Comment:
Just opening the box and taking this thing out told me it was good. It just felt nice in hand. Cables are sheathed and there are more ends than I knew what to do with. Came with a little baggy of zip-ties which is a nice add-on bonus. Fan is only noticable when the pc is running at full load but is just a woosh noise, no noticable harmonics or whines. Fan placement is my only complaint as it pulls air from my tower style CPU heatsink. This warms the PS and makes the fan run at a higher speed. I would have preferred a push-pull dual fan arrangement similar to the Antec I just replaced.

Cons:None

Pros:Very well built PSU with a great 5 years warranty and great Corsair customer service
Comment:
I'm using this power supply to power a Q6600 with 2 8800GT cards and it perform great. The build quality is awesome (when you get the box, you will notice it's very heavy and it's a good indicator of quality). All the wires is sleeved so it make it more clean (too bad it's not sleeved up to the end but it's not a biggie).Performance wise, it does the job and the exhaust air is barely warm and the fan noise is kept to a minimum.

This PSU has been running my system perfectly. I read that corsair under rates their wattage, so it can dish out more if need be. My system spec:E8400, 9800GTX+, 2 GB ram, 500 GB HD, 20X SATA DVD writer, blood iron

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:I'd like more new style power connectors and less old school power connectors (for more SATA drives)

Pros:Stable, quiet, well made, well packaged in a nice baggie
Comment:
Running a 5000+ AMD 64 dual core black edition 2.6GHz overclocked to 3.2GHz with 5 x 500Gb hard drives, 2 in raid 0 and 3 in raid 5, stable quiet and so far so good! Recommended. Has the ATX 2.2 standard CPU power connector (make sure that your selected PSU will work with your particular mobo - the 2.01 standard PSU's dont have this 24v connector for the CPU). I have not owned this very long but it has been really reliable. the cords are very easy to organize and long to keep out of way for air circulation. I also am satisfied with the overclocking ability it has for my system.

Pros:Powerfullooks niceworks very well and is very stable

So far this psu is working great. managed to overclock my cpu alot more than with my old psu. Everythig about this psu seems great. The only complaint was that when it was shipped it went from Richmond to somewhere in Washington, Back to Richmond, then to Calgary to Winnipeg, stayed there for the weekend and then finally shipped to me in Saskatchewan.

Pros:Quiet. Many pins. Easy to set-up.

Very nice package. OK shipping. Nicely wrapped wires. Easy to set-up and install. However, one screw does not line-up with the hole in my case. I had to push it a bit harder than I wanted. Not a big problem.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:Quite expensive for the output, the TX750W has been this cheap on sale before. Not modular.

Pros:Good quality power supply, lots of watts
Comment:
This is a good power supply for use in moderate gaming PCs. It's not modular, though, so there's a fair amount of cable hiding to do unless you've got a lot of equipment in your PC. Seems a bit overpriced at regular price, as the TX750W has been on sale for about the same price.

Cons:None, except voltages seem a little low, though they're stable at where they're at.

Pros:Sleeved cablesLots of connectorsLong cables that had no problems reaching in my caseQuiet
Comment:
So far, so good. Stable, quiet power supply that hasn't given me a problem yet. My system (P180, AMD 5200, 8800 GT, 5 HDDs, DVD drive, multiple case fans, etc.) runs very well on it, so I'm quite pleased. Did a lot of research before I purchased this, and it was the best blend of quality, price, and watts that I found for my system needs.

This power supply is wonderful, it has nice long sleeved cables, although they're not modular, this thing is next to silent, I can barely hear it, and it produces minimal heat. The Corsair VX550 provides plenty of power on the 12v rail. This PSU also leaves some headroom for future upgrades.

After reading many reviews and specs on different products I chose this one based on price and performance. I am very happy with my decision. Packaging is very nice(even comes in a soft carry bag). This thing is heavy and constructed to last. Has an 80+ efficiency rating and a 41 amp 12v rail! Runs my 8800GT and E6750 without an effort and quietly. Recommended 100%!

After 2 months with this psu I am very impressed with it. I have it powering a Q6600 and a 2900xt, both overclocked, 2 hard drives and 1 optical drive. It performs without a hitch. Its reasonable quiet. I also like that it looks like it means business, no flashy bling, just a flat black paint job and black sleeved cables. All in all this psu can not be beat for the price \performance ratio. Excellent

Can't say much more about this but the fact this is a Corsair power supply. Even the box and what is included is high quality. I have high expectations of this PSU and it definitely has not disappointed at all. It's quiet, has plenty of cables which are well protected, as well as a single rail. Not much more that I can ask for thats already included. It's powering my e6550, P5ke and 8800GT easily.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:Cable length, small noise

Pros:120mm fan; cheap; easy connectors, sleeved cables
Comment:
When I unpacked it, I was really impressed by the length of the cables (around 25-30''). I have a medium size case (HP media center). Half of the connectors are not.I had the stack up the cables between the PSU and the DVD drives. If you work it out, the PSU is nice. The cables are sleeved and it seems quite performant. The 120mm is really good. Its gonna be useful when I'll have my BFG 8800GT OC2. but it makes some noise. Not a big disturbing noise but you can hear it running. This would be a great deal for someone who has more sutff to connect or a bigger case. But its still a great PSU.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
Cons:Price perhaps, but the quality is great. No modularity, but I don't care about that.

Pros:Very Quiet, Very stable rails. 550W. Supports latest ATX Spec (8pin PCI-E.) Great amount of connectors.
Comment:
I Looked All over the site to find the ideal PSU for my build. This one is great for its silence. It also can power two mid range GPUs (3850 crossfire anyone?) or a power hungry beast like the 2900xt. I don't nearly that amount of Power in my Rig, but I've looked at Idle and Load voltages compared to JonnyGuru's Review, and mine are about the same. I would definitely recommend this!
