Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Comment:
Worked with XP for a year and a half. Fantastic sound during those days, it was good to no cost up process resources with an off-board sound card. Upgraded to Windows 7 two days ago and does not work (no hardware was changed). Downloaded many drivers for 5 hours, no go. Inventive claims it has a operating one particular but it doesn't and 'end of life' anything older than two years so there's no assistance. Be advised. Creative made wonderful cards for decades but are making poor business choices. My enterprise decision is to take my business elsewhere for a soundcard. Goodbye Inventive, it was good whilst it lasted.

It works. I wanted to use it with headphones via a homemade amplifier for transcription. My previous sound card, the Chaintech with the By way of Envy HT chip, was employed for this. It had wonderful sound top quality, but it did not play well with standby mode. This Creative card has terrible hiss, terrible S/N. My motherboard with a Realtek chip has lower noise level.

Excellent 7.1 card.Tiny, takes up very small space. Excelent price as usually. As a general rule, sound inputs are Green, speaker, pink mic. On this card pink is a speaker output so watch out for that. The Mic output is the black input. kinda odd for inventive to do that but it is what it is. Audigy is just a excellent card in general.

As usual, newegg’s shipping had this card in my hands only a couple of days following ordering. They are amazingly rapidly. This is 1 of the few occasions I felt I did not get the finest price tag from newegg. I checked immediately after I created this obtain and noticed that other online retailers had this card for less and shipping and handling was also less. I most likely would not have gotten it as quick but I could have had a 30% saving with another day or two wait. I am running windows 7 rc. I installed the card and it was detected immediately after restarting. However, the win7 automobile driver installation failed. I put in the inventive installation disk and half way by way of the install, I received a blue screen and reboot. After the reboot and entering win7, the card created a quite wealthy sound. This card was to replace my failed mb onboard sound. Have not tried any of the inventive computer software and not positive it installed effectively but the card appears to be working beautifully. Config: MSI k9agm2-fih am2 690g mb, Amd 64 x2 2.7gh 65w, His 4650 512mb radeon pcie, WD Caviar blue 500gb 7200rpm sata three.0gb, 4gb A-Data DDR2 800.

Simple card but worth it if you're making use of the motherboard sound ports and they stop operating. No cd came with. Don't really see the no cd thing as a actual con i don't know several individuals that use the cd's to get the driver's

None so far.

It was affordable and the sound excellent was great Installed this on XP, worked wonderfully. Upgraded to Vista, and it no longer works at all. I can only hear a loud buzzing sound no matter what I do (i tried updating drivers and everything) and whats much more, it interfered with my network card and broke that, too. Ought to have gotten a defective card, but it was good while it lasted - cause for 5 eggs

I've been making use of creative sound blaster given that the 16bit version. Those black slots, geezs It's been so lengthy I forgot the name. Its the slot prior to the pci came out. I feel it was a 16bit slot. Anyways, other sound cards would just have low high quality and absolutely nothing genuinely compared to a sound blaster. I'm glad to nonetheless use 1 til this day instead of the onboard sounds. onboard sounds generally just dont perform or just break on you or when you try to record off a mic. You can hear a static. The recording of sound isnt the ideal on a onboard mb. I plan to stay with creative all the way.

Slim design. Good cost. If your hardcore into sound you'll want one thing substantially better. I was told by some tech friends that there would be no noticeable distinction in between a SB Live! 5.1 and an Audigy. Boy they couldn't have been additional wrong. It resolved some lagging and skipping in a couple games, and movies are louder and more crisp.

Fantastic item... often glad to own a piece of SB in each of my computers. This card went in a machine that just necessary to the edge over the standard sound the mobo provides.. this did just that. All my other people have SB Pro 4, and nonetheless their product has yet to disappoint me. None... unless you make a problem.. it works as it must... and supplies the excellent that is paid for... just a fundamental upgrade from MoBo. Though I was hesitant about it getting OEM, came wrapped fairly secure and came with the sound driver CD, so eliminated 1 job of acquiring the driver. Wonderful way to get by cheaper... Newegg you rock as usual...

-Low Price.-Exceptional for Games.-Quick, Clean, & Painless Install. -Windows 7 Drivers are still not up to date and some bugs perforate particular configurations (as of April, 2010). This, i feel, will be fixed shortly. Good for gaming. Do not get if you are planning to use it for sound style or music composing - it was not intended for that sort of stuff.

I purchased this to put in a household theater pc thinking the the onboard sound would be insufficient. I could not tell the distinction in between this card and the onboard sound on my GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard. This is not a put down of the sound blaster card but far more a praise of the GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H. Good card and excellent sound but just not necessary. None
