Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Comment:
It works fine. Simple to install. Price is pretty good. Fast delivery. I'm not a audio professional but honestly, compared to my onboard audio, I can barely tell the distinction in top quality. It does seem to be slightly louder than onboard but that's it, and that's just a Perhaps. It's not actually a con either but if you have onboard, stick with it or else invest more if you want some thing noticeable. Only real factor I guess is, it may possibly take a small strain off my processor . Not a poor card, but nothing particular either. Spend a lot more or stick with onboard audio. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Comment:
Totally easy to install, takes up very small room, and sounds wonderful! I am now running 4.1 surround and planning to upgrade to 7.1 once I get the money. Even comes with the little sticker to stick on the front of your rig to show off it's no capabilities... The packaging it comes in isn't great but you can't anticipate considerably for an OEM, not to mention I ordered a lot of other points so it was nestled in between them so it wouldn't bounce around. Takes a little whilst to set up and install all the programs if you wish. Also takes a small bit to get the speakers plugged into the right holes because they aren't seriously color coded properly, also takes a small time to get the sound set to your liking, but over all a must buy. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:No connector included for front-panel audio ports
Pros:Great linux compatibility (Ubuntu 10.04)Easy to install Comment:
This was a great sound card for the price. The quality was reasonable. However, I had to return it because it didn't have connectors front-panel audio ports. I use headphones and mics all the time, so it is necessary for me that the jacks on the front of my box work. I have heard there are extra cables you can buy, but many of those cost more than the sound card! If you don't need this feature, this is a great card. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:best for gaming not music
Pros:great substitute for an old motherboard Comment:
I think the EAX and the gaming features are ideal with this soundcard. I really didn't notice a huge leap between this an the ALC889 chipset. This is best suited for gamers who want a cheap option. |

Cons:- PCI (legacy)
Pros:- Good sound quality- Adheres to quite a few standards- Inexpensive Comment:
A good soundcard for the price. I've had it for a long time and haven't had problems with it on older systems and OS's. Newer OS's may have a bit of trouble with drivers, etc. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Won't work on windows 7 (For me at least)
Pros:7.1 surround, cheap, small, easy. Comment:
This sound card works pretty well for my older windows xp system, but when I put it in my new windows 7 build, it didn't work. Oh well, my built-in is actually pretty good. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Installation software a bit sloppy.
Pros:Does the job of producing good sound even on dodgy equipment. Comment:
I bought this for my wife's computer to go with a new set of surround sound headphones I ordered. The FedEx messed up the delivery of the headphones so I installed this anyways and tried it out with her old speakers and cheapo headset. I was quite impressed! Sounds were much richer and vibrant. Can't wait to try it with some quality. The software with the disk is outdated, and downloading from the site worked fine. However the update program had the computer jumping through hoops for the next 15 min as it evaluated and installed update s I couldn't see on the website itself. Annoying but no problems from it. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:none
Pros:great card for 7.1 system Comment:
I use this for my 7.1 system I bought. It works great and have no problems. It was relatively cheap in price so I had no problems adding an extra card even though my mobo had a 5.1 onboard sound card. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:None so far
Pros:Does what its supposed to do, sound quality is decent but I'm by no means an audiophile Comment:
The card has done its job well. Sound quality seems to be improved over my built in audio. It's nothing spectacular but I don't regret spending my $25. |

Cons:Lack of Mic input
Pros:Price, good sound quality Comment:
I could not get my mic to work on the card no matter what I did so I just used onboard sound. The 5.1 sounds great and I have had no issues with the windows 7 drivers. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:none so far
Pros:Works as expected.......sound is better than on-board. Windows 7 found and installed drivers without any problems. The price was reasonable Comment:
This sound card has inproved the sound quality over the on-board sound that I was using. Windows 7 found all the drivers, and the card works as I would expect. Would recommend over on-board, but if my budget allowed, I would have spent more and got more. Overall I am happy with it. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Some people say Creative has poor driver support.
Pros:Small, uncomplicated! Perfect for the price! Comment:
My onboard sound was crackling and generally poor. This is a $30 solution that satisfies. Nothing too special, but you're not paying for special at this price range. Some people say Creative has poor driver support, but the drivers I got from their website worked fine (I didn't even bother with the CD), and I heard my lovely Windows chime upon reboot. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Some issues with configuration
Pros:PriceIt's not onboard sound Comment:
I've been using onboard sound for a while now, and given how cheap this card is now it made sense to grab one while I was upgrading other parts.I still haven't managed to get my rear speakers to produce any sound, but I had that issue with the onboard sound as well so I think I'm still ahead here. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Simplified Sound output
Pros:Easy to Install Comment:
This is an entry-level soundcard. Nothing fancy, but then again, I'm not an audiophile. It's worth the $30 I paid for it, and I can listen to music easy enough. Painless installation. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Driver support, bloated bundled software
Pros:Price, solid performance Comment:
I bought this to replace my motherboard's crappy onboard sound. It's a basic card, but offers solid performance. Sounds great so far and the drivers installed easily on XP. I'm very pleased. The drivers and bundled software (Creative MediaSource... basically an iTunes clone) are a little bloated for my taste, but the card still works great if you select the minimum features when installing. Creative MediaSource doesn't offer anything you can't get through other media players/managers though, so I don't recommend installing it. |

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Terrible for drivers on any OS other than XP. Sound mixing relies on drivers (aka software mixing, not hardware)Alsa support on linux is limited. Crackles when sound starts and stops.
Pros:Major improvement from onboard sound on Windows XP. Comment:
Good for a cheap card to improve on motherboard sound. Creative is bad for driver support though, so I don't recommend them as a company. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-13-08 11:25 PM |
It sounds good. Fits in a slot. Low profile = low air blocking. The included CD had Vista 64-bit drivers that installed and worked without a hitch. They didn't even demand a reboot! It all just worked fine. The sticker included with the package isn't significant enough to cover a hole in my wall designed by a Nerf-related accident. Once more, for this thing to work so flawlessly with Vista 64-bit is impressive to me. Extremely pleased. Asus Formula mobo, I utilized the leading slot (between CPU and GPU).
