Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Bad driver support

Pros:Good valueBetter than onboard sound
Comment:
I've had this card for a while. It's good and cheap now. I run it on default winXP drivers since the one from creative are crappy. It runs perfect and onboard acceleration works great. I havent made the leap to Vista yet, but i heard the drivers were plain bad.

Cons:No on board processor

Pros:Great price
Comment:
The only reason I bought this was so I could have a movie playing on one screen with sound, and use this card for my video games on another screen. Works great.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:installing the driver, not much difference vs the mobo integrated sound

Pros:Cheap and it works
Comment:
It's an ok card. Getting driver for this thing when you are on windows vista is a nightmare and I suspect these driver are in a conflict with windows vista Sp1No difference at all from the mobo integrated sound, but for 30$ it worth it, only to remove one painful job for your mobo.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Does not support the newest EAXNo good support from CreativeOEM productSome drivers are incompatible with OEM products

Pros:Cheap7.1 soundGood sound
Comment:
It's cheap, and it works with good sound. $30 is not a lot, and having premium partner will make it even lower. It's weakness lies in the fact it's OEM, and Creative supports likes Retail better than OEM. Must use the drivers with the CD.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:EAX 3.0, had trouble figureing out how to plug in my 5.1 headphones...badly labeled inputs.

Pros:Good sound reproduction, easy install, easy to install drivers (as long as you just DON'T TOUCH IT!!!)
Comment:
This thing is very cool, makes sounds "better" you can sometimes hear nuances in some sounds that "weren't there before", for instance, in a video game I play, when you click something, the sound now echo fades away...didn't hear that before with my ALC883 (Realtek...) very good card for the money, keeping this in my new system.

Cons:the Driver freeze when unplug\plug.

Pros:Price,great sound.
Comment:
I upgraded form AC'97 onboard and this is a lot better, sound is crispier and i think for the price vs x-fi x-treme music(without hardware accelerator for 20$ more)is a good choice.and with downloadable software bundle and eax 3.0 for games, you can't go wrong for the price!

I mark 5 stars for the reason that its a good deal(quality/price). I have notice a big difference between this card and an audio card already in the motherboard.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:1. HOLY F__KING BATMAN, SO MUCH B.S. SOFTWARE!2. No onboard sound processor (not a problem if you have a powerful system though).3. EAX support is minimal.4. No optical out.

Pros:1. Cheap & effective upgrade from the on-board sound.2. Better than Chaintech on terms of sound quality.3. Game support.
Comment:
You get Creative cards for only one reason... GAME! Because Creative does very well with their EAX and 24bit sound, they are THE authority in the sound card industry. If you want the fastest, baddest, ugliest, then you got to get X-Fi cards. However, if you are on budget (e.g. under $100)... I recommend you to get this card + Steelpad headphones 5Hv2 or 3H. One of the critical miss in this card is the optical out. But if you are planning on building a budget system, who gives the heck?! As long as you get a solid EAX support, 24bit sound, low noise & good sound... I think that's all it matters. This card is the one of the Best under $50 category, and I would highly recommend this card to anyone who is on budget and wish for a great sound.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:Everything on CD and site is in chm - so a Linux user has to get kchm or similar to even read documentation.

Pros:CheapGreat analog quality and sound for surround sound headphones.Works nicely with Linux
Comment:
I'd put off ordering a sound card for new computer because onboard sound was fine - just low in volume with SS headphones. While it seems strange to write a review after one day, but I'm feeling silly for not ordering one earlier. Even if a person has decent onboard sound and decent speaker amp, most of those don't have setup for plugging in surround sound headphones. Installed and worked fine in Linux. While I doubt that real sound quality is higher than onboard - the vastly overall higher volume, means that certain frequencies can be boosted enough for older ears - important with SS headphones.

Cons:none yet

Pros:- good sound- great value
Comment:
OK, I know that this is silly but I had been using Bose Triport headphones with a built-in Realtek sound card for 6 months before getting this card. Needless to say, after installing this card I felt like I could hear again. This is Audigy so you're getting excellent sound reproduction. Music sounds completely different on this card as opposed to the old Realtek AC'97. For the price you can't go wrong. The card has few i/o ports but if you are looking for i/o then you should expect to spend at least double.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:had trouble setting up more than 1 audio in for microphone and TV card

Pros:Easy to instal. Great performance for a value card. Inexpensive
Comment:
This card was very easy to instal and to set up. The software that came with the card is good as well. It is a good upgrade from onboard audio. The sound is great when used in combination with a decent 5.1 or more speaker setup. The card is a bit on the tall side and was almost too tall to use in an Antec Aria case. I never had any issues with the card on its own, although had troubles when using both microphone and tv card. I figure it was issues with the TV card software.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:A bit of static

Pros:CheapDecent sound
Comment:
Bought this card to use in a computer for which I couldn't find the drivers for the onboard sound (~4-year old compaq). The sound card performs well for my purposes. There's a bit of static through my speakers when the volume is up, but that is probably from the speakers themselves.

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE Sound Card
Cons:- just 4 jacks

Pros:-7.1 sound-price
Comment:
This is a basic sound card for little budget and it does it job. Nevertheless, this is not a good idea to buy it if you have a 5.1 system (as X-530) 'cause you'll not be able to use your speakers and other devices... At this price, it's a better idea to check for Audigy 2 ZS used... This review was modfied by poster @ 12-19-06 05:19 AM
