Great value, Great Features
Comment:
I'm a Realtor and obtained this unit a month ago to replace my stolen entry level Tom Tom, also have experience with my wife's factory installed $2,500 unit. Much simpler to operate than that very expense installed GPS. Very intuitive operating features. Bluetooth, good phone volume, access to phones address book, even reads & talks my text messages! MSN traffic, movie showtime, gas prices work great as I am in the Chicago area. A few times if seemed to send me in a non-direct route to destinations I'm familiar with, but always rely on it's instructions on non-familiar local destinations, vacations, etc.

Bluetooth yes but...
Comment:
An excellent GPS overall however I was disappointed by 2 things... 1. Bluetooth is not a2dp which means that you can only hook up your bluetooth phone. My bluetooth stereo headphones are out! 2. Although you can use Mapsource to load new maps to it (NT 2010), you cannot load custom routes or waypoints... A little lame for a GPS that once cost around $1000. Still, it's a great deal for under $200. I just don't understand why my Garmin XT (N95 phone version) seems to have more advanced features than this dedicated one...

Garmin 680
Comment:
It finds itself quickly, some of the road names it uses are not correct, it has some pronunciation issues, switching to a different voice made it easier to understand and hear, recalculates new route quickly but does not always provide the most direct route even if you set up for fastest and shortest.

There's no better GPS deal ANYWHERE!!!
Comment:
This is my first GPS purchase and I am in no way disappointed. The unit appeared to be brand new in a sealed box. This thing is PACKED with features. The Bluetooth integration is great! It picks up your voice with ease and the speaker is plenty loud. I took this unit with me on a vacation last week and the points of interest are plentiful and accurate. My favorite feature has to be the MSN Direct content. The unit automatically informs you of any traffic holdups and asks you if you want to detour. Gas prices are very accurate. I only wish the service worked anywhere instead of only near major cities, but that has nothing to do with the GPS unit. EXCELLENT BUY!!!

Top Value for the $$$$$$$$$$
Comment:
This is my first GPS and it could not have been a better purchase. The blue tooth works great, and the directions are excellent. The FM transmitter has a weak signal and can sometimes be washed out. I would highly recommend this GPS!

Bought refurb - good value
Comment:
Lots of great features, works well finding all addresses so far. Only problem I have is that when the car is turned off, it says it is shutting down in 30 sec. but locks up at 27 seconds and you have to re-start it. Bit of a learning curve to understand all the features.

It's Amazing, so amazing
Comment:
Its a great product for a cheap price. My budget was $200 for a gps with all these features and I didnt really think i would find one, until i found this. Refurb? mine was new. It took about 5 hrs to set-up but wasnt difficult. The accuracy of the directions are good, not great. The FM Transmitter worked very well when i was 1.5 hrs outside of Chicago visiting family. Within 1 hr, its pretty useless. Just connect it via AUX if your car stereo has one. The MP3 player is great, not having a playlist option isnt. The car mount works well, the 3D view is awesome, The POI's are very helpful. In an unknown area i was looking for a grocery store, using the gps it took me 20 secs to find the closest one. Bluetooth hooked up easily to my 1stgen iPhone, the textmessaging screen and missed calls screen are not functional with my phone but the sound quality for calls is about 2X better than expected. OVERALL its a AMAZING value, I LOVE IT. all my family wants 1 of their own.

Best GPS ever
Comment:
Simply, it's a wonderful product. Service was flawless, as usual, I received the unit in less than a week. I registered the produc on Garmin's web site (a few minutes process) and that allowed me to download the 2010 maps and product updates (be aware, it a 2GB file, it takes a while for download even on a top high speed internet connection). Overall, the unit is perfect, I tried every feature (bluetooth, FM transmitter, MSN features) everything works perfect. I found FM transmitter a very nice feature, you can drive, listen to music and make/take phone calls thru your radio and car speakers, just great on a long drive. If you live in Canada, MSN content is not extremely acurate (I live in Toronto)but being included I did activate it just for fun. Overall, I would recommend this unit, especially if you want accurate driving directions and all the rest of the conveniences that it brings.

Best bang for your buck GPS.
Comment:
Could not be happier with this GPS. I was looking for a model that could do bluetooth and mp3 features. The bluetooth feature is very handy because it has downloads all my contacts from my phone. The call quality is very good but people can still tell your on some sort of speaker phone (but they say it doesn't really matter they can hear me perfectly). I loaded up an SD card with some music. It takes SDHC cards as well so you can put in large cards. I only tried 2gb cards so far but I'm sure it can take much larger. I haven't even updated my maps which is free the first time after purchase but the GPS got my to destinations perfectly. I haven't tried the free one year of MSN service so I can't comment on it. The FM transmitter does a good job but I preffer using the audio output and cassette adapter for my car. It's surprising how clear a cassette adapter can be. Anyways I would not hesitate to purchase this model. I did a lot of research before buying and this model has it all.

Bluetooth lacks
Comment:
The GPS device as a whole is tremendous. However, even after I paired my Blackberry up to it, it had a hard time finding it. The "phone not found" message came up constantly which was an irritation when I was trying to follow the map. My wife's phone doesn't have that problem so we use hers for the link.

Better GPS
Comment:
This my first GPS so have no comparison to other. I like its mp3 player tunes to my fm radio in my car. MSN direct would not give me gas prices and no traffic data available in kitchener ontario. I am happy though with GPS performance.I havn't tried blutooth.

Great buy
Comment:
The product came like it was brand new, there was a msn direct one year subcription. The device works great it was my first GPs, its real easy to use ,user friendly and gives you he signal pretty fast. The FM transmitter has a hard time with reception when you have other caar around you which is almost all the time. Bluetooth works great, msn direct could be better ,it does not give you the info with accuracy and always needs to updated itself. If you feel like buying it go for it.

Got mine today, transferred my C550 POI to it no problem, everything looks like new. Garmin will not let me register it to My Garmin with my other GPS's as their system shows the serial number is already registered.

Superb Product; Comes like a Brand-New item!!!!!l
Comment:
Folks looking for an all-in-one; THIS IS IT!!! I have had mine for two weeks now and despite the maps being up to date (version 2009) I am missing newer roads they put in here in Port St. Lucie that should be in the 2010 version release of the software soon! Anyhow, using the Bluetooth works great, but people say I sound far from the Mic, which I have mounted by the pillar of my front windshield (as close to my face as possible) but works with my 8525 Windows mobile Phone, w835i Sony-Eriksson, and iPhone, without any problems (except sometimes you have to fight for control between GPS control or cell phone control when you want to actually hold the phone to your ear and have a "normal" conversation!) other than that, this thing is awesome. It does NOT leave bread-crumb trails though, but you can lock in a number of favorites and tell it to just go there! It calculates your new route on the fly and within seconds! Worth every penny, since these refurbs come with everything new

Great Product!
Comment:
This is the second one of these that I have purchased and we just love them. The first one has travel across the country and hasn't given us any trouble. From Seattle, Portland, L.A., SLC, Chicago, Norfolk, Kings Bay, Denver, and all points in between. Gave the first one to our daughter when she went to Chicago for school. This one we are buying for us to keep. Directions given are only as good as those given to the mapping companies. For 50 yrs the maps have shown my folks living on a through street over a mile long, it dead-ends after 6 blocks.Garbage in, Garbage out. This is a GREAT PRODUCT and a Good Buy!

good deal
Comment:
First let me say that this gps is a good deal if you are not looking to spend a lot of money on a gps. Garmin allows you to update the firmware and maps (once) to the latest available. I'm a professional driver (tractor trailer) and find it's route choices not the most efficient based on 30 years of driving in the area. When I don't know where I'm going though it will take me right to the door. The most annoying feature is the condecending voice when you go off the route it picks (annoyed ''recalculating'' is played) In future releases of this feature the designers should really remember that a driver doesn't need a sarcastic voice telling them where to drive. Think about this... If you are lost and miss an exit or turn, do you really need a sarcastic voice telling you it's recalculating the route. In my opinion this could lead to road rage. Garmin get it together and maybe get a new development team.

What a deal!
Comment:
I received this very quickly and it had nothing refurbished about it - looked new and operates very well! I love all of the features it has down to the bluetooth option so that I can call from my cellphone handsfree (the person on the other line does here some noise though so not the best in terms of silencing surrounding noise). The MSN direct is included for 1 year which is amazing for this price! The GPS works great and I highly recommend this product!

Just took this item on a drive across country and found it really helpful. Best help was the ability to find food, fuel and lodging in an area without knowing where we were. Sometimes the satellite hooked up very fast, but other times it took more time - if we didn't wait for it, we were out of the hotel and heading to the highway before it kicked in.
