Very good product for the money
Comment:
I originally purchased the Garmin 680 Nuvi for my owen but after I had it for about a week I was so impressed I bought two more for my children. It works great and has never let me down and has always gotten me to where I wanted to go. For the price, I would definately reccommend this unit to anyone.

Refubished?
Comment:
Bought a refurbished cell phone and it wasn't is good shape. I saw the word refurbished on this GPS and wonder. It has all the features (MP3 Player, bluetooth and more) at a great price. I received the GPS and was very surprise that the screen still have a plastic protection sheet over it. The product look brand new to me. Words of caution, not all cell phone has the lastest bluetooth. My wife LG bluetooth didn't work, my Motorola did. Use the aux connect to your car stereo if you have one. The FM connect is a little noisy.

OK but lacks some features
Comment:
My first GPS I owned was as masgellen 800 series that I owned for almost 4 years. Of course bsck then a portable GPS ran in the $600 range. While the new Garmin works OK, I miss many of the features that are on a Magellen GPS. The Gasrmin Nuvi does not allow you the many options on the fly of how it picks the typs of route, such as shortest distance, time, use of highways or local roads. Nor does it show you what types of roads it selected ahead of time. There is no choice of voice. the ladies voice in mine seems to have an additude. The distances it porjects of when to turn are not accurate. My regret is that this was a refurbished model and I can not return it. When I tried to download the trial POI and traffic reports it didn't work. If you ever owned a Magellen GPS you are going to be dissapointed.

Great GPS
Comment:
This is my first GPS - my husband has one for his car and one for our boat. All are Garmins, and we've been pleased with them all. While this one was packaged and looked like a new one, I had to contact Garmin because it was still registered to someone else and so I was not able to download the map updates until the problem was corrected. When I called Garmin, I was told it would be a 35 minute wait - and the actual time was even longer. The screen is very bright, and the GPS was very easy to operate with minimal reading of instructions. I got an SD card to play MP3's while traveling, and the sound via the FM frequency is very good (although it is annoying to have to continually adjust the FM station while on road trips). It would be better if more than 1 way point could be set on a trip, but there are workarounds for that problem. I wish I had waited another week - the price dropped $10 right after I bought it. (But it still beats paying $350 for a new one.)

Couldn't be happier
Comment:
This is my first GPS and I've been very happy. The MSN direct feature is great, and the bluetooth is nice as long as the person you are talking to isn't a quiet talker. The MP3 player with the FM transmitter was a great plus too, although in my area there are so many radio stations that it's hard to find a frequency without interference. I love the auto-detour feature for traffic from MSN direct, but I have to second guess it a lot since when it recalculates, it doesn't have traffic info for side streets, so it doesn't know if they are jammed too.

My third Garmin. I got this one because the wife wanted a bluetooth device for the car. this made it easy. It used the same mounts as my Nuvi 650. also I was able to go to the Garmin site and refresh the maps.

Great Value!
Comment:
My first GPS. It is packed with featres and easy to use. Had to contact Garmin to obtain the map updates, as the "first contact" with satellites was still recorded from the original owner. Garmin ws quick to respond. Battery life is not great, but doesn't matter if you use it mostly in the car. Bluetooth feature is nice for hands free calling.

Good Product: Garmin Tech Support sucks.
Comment:
Great product in a refurbished unit. BUT the price dropped within 30 days of purchase. It would be nice to get the extended warranty for the difference in new price and my price. Garmin's tech support sucks in regard to the alleged map update to 2010. I tried to download the alleged free undate four (4) times. The first took about 5 hours (no success). The second took about 7 hours (no success). Attempt 3 and 4 failed because I was told that it was downloaded already. Telephone help was a joke. Your wait 20 minutes for help and they just cut you off. I guess the only way to really get the update is to buy the cd verison. I just hope I don't need tech help in the future.

Good deal

-fast shipping, all in new condition, good accessories. 60days to update to 2010 map version (North Am.). Can get European version as well. Navigation works well, but slight delay, like 10-20 meters. Watch for that flipping antenna, try to minimize flipping, can eventually break. Was happy with one, so I bought second one few weeks later, sure enough, next day, price goes down $15. Touch screen well lit. Did not try MSN live yet. Some POI (gas station) not accurate, but o.k. Bluetooth works well, but had to fiddle with setting it up when adding multiple phones, then it works great. Download/upload to the unit (2GB internal capacity) rather slow it could be, that the USB port on the unit is old slow 1.0 version. FM over the car audiodepends on car model: transmitter has a weak signal I read somewhere, its due to US version has lower limit on signal strength, due to regulation (European version is stronger, but illegal), so from my experience, it works really great in my 2001 Toyota Ca

You can't beat this deal!
Comment:
I used to have a Nuvi 350 but I never noticed how much brighter the 600 series is. Not only wider but also much brighter. The screen is thus much easier to read at a glance. All Garmins are great values but at this price, you can't dream of a better GPS.

Can't find a better deal!
Comment:
I have sold Garmin units (working at REI) and nothing that we carried was as good as this model. It is easy to use, comes LOADED with features, and Garmin has a reputation that is unmatched. They allow you to do a one-time map update within 60 days of purchase, offer a full 12 month MSN Direct subscription, and have an array of media and games to download to the unit from the garmin.com website. I have had this unit for a month and am still finding out cool new functions. The Bluetooth connection synced right up with my Motorola and picks up my voice clearly even with windows down in my car. The speaker is a bit weak if there is radio or wind noise, but once you set the FM transmitter you can go seamlessly from listening to music to getting directions to talking to someone on the speakerphone. I guess they just reduced the price, so I am hoping for a price adjustment, but it was still a good bargain at the higher price. There's just no reason to spend $200-$300 more for a new unit

Best deal on a GPS anywhere
Comment:
Wow what a great unit. I already have the Garmin 250W and I got this unit for about the same price. I had to call Garmin (free call) to activate my free 2010 map download which takes about 4 hours total (download 1.9 gigs, extract and install to GPS through USB2.0 connection) Has FM and Bluetooth which work great with my phone. You can even bring up POI's on the garmin and then call them directly from the Garmin screen! Cool! My unit looked brand new and all the accesories were definately new, The MSN traffic works fine although no local movie times or Gas prices here in Niagara area, Canada. I do get the info for Niagara Falls US though. Weather and traffic work well. Other MSN direct bells and whisles do not work on this unit as it is a bit older technology. Garmins MSRP was originally $999.00 when this unit first came out! These 680 units have an antenna, my 250w does not as it is internal but I have noticed that this 680 unit gets better reception in the house. Thumbs up!

I already had an LG GPS and was very pleased with it but was looking for something with a little more jazz with map updates that were cheaper than other manufactures. Got all of that with this unit and am very pleased. It is very easy to use and the maps are very up to date. With the Garmin name, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good solid GPS.

Best GPS yet!
Comment:
I have owned several Garmins for my car and my airplane. This is the best auto unit I have owned. The GPS mapping function and the spoken instuctions make ''getting there'' as breeze. The bluetooth linked to my Iphone without a hitch. I now listen on my in car FM radio and speak to the built in mike for great hands free operation. I also download MP3 files, dump them to an SD card, and listen to them on the radio via the FM transmitter in the 680. The MSN is a bit over-rated, but it does work! Yes you can find a movie and get the times easily. Overall a great unit. By the way, the "refurbed" unit looked brand new to me. :)

Works for price but slow.
Comment:
Works well when it gets reception which takes a while, it's my 2nd garmin and it seems to take longer to connect to the satellite. I like it though I purchased it thinking it would have turn by turn street names mentioned, but it turned out not to have that feature.Over all good device, and many xtra features, pic's music. Msn feature is really over hyped, used it in chicago and it claimed rain but had clear sky's, though I guess traffic avoidance worked as I never got into any traffic. I'd give it a 3.5 stars out of 5.

Mostly does what I want
Comment:
I have an older (2001) Magellan 315 handheld which I never was able to update with patches and firmware. this device does it all but I would like to have a button on sub-screens that takes you directly back to the map or MP3 interface instead of having to push "back" upwards of six times depending on how far down the menu system you are. FM transmitter works fine and I don't have a Bluetooth phone so don't know how that works. Easy to operate except for the above.

Great deal on Garmin
Comment:
This is the first GPS purchase for us, so we were a little hesitant on buying a refurbished Garmin. The reviews were great so we went ahead and purchased and I'm glad we did. Took it to Scottsdale and it worked like a charm. Great purchase.
