Good Motherboard
Comment:
I bought this motherboard bundled with an Athlon II 250 CPU to upgrade my system for Windows 7. The installation of the hardware and Win7 went without a hitch. I had used Gigabyte products before but was so impressed with this board and CPU I bought another set for my downstairs PC. The only drawback as far as I am concerned is the lack of a second IDE connector on the motherboard. Since I was only running IDE drives in my old PC I had to install a PCI IDE controller card so I could run both my old hard drives and DVD reader and my new SATA drive all at the same time to upgrade to Win7 and migrate my data files. If you are only running SATA drives then that is not a problem. Other than that the board has performed flawlessly.

Not so good
Comment:
Bought one of these MBs. Once installed, it booted up alright, 3 times. Then it wouldn't even POST. RMA'd it (Tiger is best at standing behind the products they sell) and exchanged it for another. Second one didn't POST right out of the box. This may not be a problem with the MB. I exchanged this MB for an ASUS and discovered that I had a bad RAM stick (also new). After IDing and removing the bad RAM I've had no problems.

Great Motherboard
Comment:
Works perfectly in my new Win7 machine. I got it bundled with an Athlon II 250 CPU. All went together without a hitch. Only running 4GB ram right now but plan to increase to 8GB in the future. This board has all the features I needed. I wish it had come with the cables for the serial and parallel ports but probably don't need them anyway. I am really impressed with this Gigabyte board and will definitely buy another one.

Great Deal
Comment:
This is a great MB. My goal was to build a quiet fast system on a budget. In Hardy 8.04 I was had problems with audio recording even after compiling the latest alsa from source, and the onboard ATI was not identified automatically. The linux driver from ATI installed and worked fine. For some reason the compiz enhanced zoom plugin would not work with this card, but I didn't troubleshoot this due to the audio problems. I installed Kubuntu 9.10 and everything works flawlessly so far. Audio playback recording is excellent. The ATI was recognized and installed via the hardware manager. So far I am very happy with this purchase. Urban Terror runs great. The system is very stable and extremely fast! If you are on a budget this is a great buy, and the passive cooled ati card helps keep things quite.

Great Board
Comment:
My first time building a computer. I wanteded something that would not break the bank but yet could do what I wanted it to, and be able to expand over time. I got this MB with a AMD Athlon II in a bundle. Set up was easy. Bios was fine. I upgraded the graphis already to a 512md ati card. The 256mb is fine for most but is a little struggle when you want to play a indepth game. I am running with cosair 4gb of gamming memory, and its pretty great. You can upgrade to 16gb. Its a good bang for the buck and it works. Go figure.

Everything I Expected and More!
Comment:
I ordered this as a part of a combo deal to do an upgrade for a family member. It was easy, simple, and straightforward...even if I had not already done something like this many times in the past. The driver disk had all the needed startup drivers until they could be updated on the site. It worked fine with XP without chipset update. A few things to note. First, this bored seems to be just a hair more narrow than the normal mATX board. It's not enough to matter, but it does make the IO plate look like its further from the ports than it should be. This creates no functional issues, but it puzzled me for a while before getting it booted up and tested. Second, do not change your SATA disk mode when it asks it at first. The OS will not recognize an HD in that mode, you must leave it in IDE compatibility mode unless you are doing RAID or something.

Great board
Comment:
So far I have about 5 Gigabyte boards running and they have all been a breeze to setup and run very well. Price for features these are hard to beat. I upgraded from a MSI board so my entire home network is now GB switched and I can tell a huge difference when streaming from my freeNAS box.

Best Value Mobo, minimal problems once understood
Comment:
Actually got the earlier version, so this may not apply anymore to this version. I bought overclock memory from Kingston that wouldn't work default on the mobo. Ended up using single cheap slower memory stick, access BIOS, reset to accept higher speed memory, then the fast memory worked OK in it. If you can't get to boot at first, try a cheap memory stick before RMA, and check those memory card settings. Other problem was getting the sound system working under XP. This mobo will only work on XP operating systems or newer, so those who want historical systems like w2k or 98se, no can do. Very fast, very stable, an onboard video works fine with any internet video even using fast broadband service and running the HD mode. Boot drive was PATA, so don't know of any boot with SATA, but no problem using with SATA hard drive for archive purpose. Solid capacitors on CPU ciruit and strong MOSFETS make this a real value!

Why AMD?!
Comment:
This is probably the greatest mATX mobo on the market, and for such a great deal. But I was slightly disappointed that it works with AMD and not Intel...

Good value with bundled CPU
Comment:
This was a good value bundled with AMD Phenom II. Everything assembled easily, powered up and working from the get go. Only minor confusion regarding the Northbridge chip cooler fan connector. Instructions said to plug in but no fan was included. Ended up just left it as is, using just the heatsink mounted on the NB chip. Seems to be running fine, not too hot.

Good board for home office aplications
Comment:
I have bought and built 2 systems with this board and the ahtlon II x2 245. Both primarily as office machines. Both run great, fairly fast and capable of running illustrator and photoshop aplications as well as office 07. Very easy to assmeble; everything is clearly marked. Space as well as layout is good. Users have been very pleased with this combination. Board has great features and should be upgradable for some time. Could probably be used for games not requiring crysis type resources with on-board video.

So far so good
Comment:
Bought the mobo as part of a bundle. Easy to assemble, connections are well marked, so far haven't had a problem. One annoying feature that I found was that this board only has one ps2 connector. Since I have both a ps2 keyboard and mouse, I had to purchase a ps2 to usb adapter. But am happy with the performance so would recommend this board.
