its quickly runs hot, incredibly poor heat sink, 45 nm die, llano is out!!! the llano's from AMD really should be hitting retailers inside a couple of months, wait for them, from what i hear, they outperform sandy bridge.

Rapidly, Quad Core. Runs something I throw at it, and multi-tasks like a beast. Heatsink can be tricky to set. Stock Heatsink and Fan run fine for me. At 28 C idle, and 55 C under full load.

Outperforms my expectations after reading lots of evaluations on this bad boy. Bought it primarily for gaming, and it doesn't disappoint. Not confident how the stock cooler performs, didn't even use it- went with a thermaltake silent. maxes out at 50c. 10c cooler than a 45nm socket 775. ๠ additional for hyperthreading? Come on, who cares when you have four cores and turbo boost? Paired with an msi e33 board, and turbo puts this monster past three.9ghz. Games flow like butter now. Incidentally, was pushed into receiving this when my old chip wasn't adequate to drive a gtx 560. Got triple the performance for an additional 跾.

Very good proc for the value, on par with similarly priced procs,(another proc i use), decent speed havnt fiddled with the overclocking, but shouldnt need tofor the price tag, it is a excellent processor a bit hot (cooled down following i fixed the thermal paste, but nevertheless) stock fan could be much betterI hate the connection that the heatsink/fan use to connect to the motherboard, appears solid once you get it on, but placing it on and obtaining it off consist of alot of fiddeling with it till it works, was scared i broke it many times Does not have hyperthreading, but i choose that, i commonly stick with 1-two key processesi put it on a laptop or computer im employing as a steam/minecraft server, and it is working good

Possibly a single of my preferred processors currently on the industry. It overclocks like a champ, runs cool, and will deal with most any endeavor. Possibly a single of my least preferred processors at this cost point...total shame. I could go without having my morning latte for a week and acquire an i7 rather.../headscratch at Intel's pricing (cough) shell shocker

Particularly fast, haven't even attempted an over clock yet and it blazes by means of anything I throw at it. Had no overheating problem but, runs idle at around 28c through gaming on high settings about 40-50 so far, in no way much above that Nothing I can feel of... Excellent for gaming, have it paired up with an Nvidia Gfx570, anything I throw at it operates way above expectations, this processor really does anything I require it to and much more

Operates great, as it need to. Every little thing is operating smooth at the i5 level. -Had to move the wires on the cooling fan so they would spin. (no massive) I havnt played any real games with it however but im confident that there will be no difficulties from the CPU end. Some say the cooler it comes with sucks but it will do all it supposed too if you dont over clock it or your case has lots of cooling.

For the price tag it packs a punch. Loads my games promptly and enables me to play without having hiccups. I'm in a position to multitask more freely compared to my old AMD dual core. Not a big problem but heat-sink seems a bit affordable, I don't do any overclocking so I'm not actually concerned about it.

Good quad core processor Docked an egg because the stock cpu fan is worthless. At stock speed idle temps was 55C with close to max at 85C. I cease pressure test whenever it got that hot. Could of overheated my cpu if i wasnt careful. With a correct cooling program I am able to overclock this CPU to three.45ghz with DDR3 1600 RAM at 52C max stressed. Solid chip

I wanted to replace my notebook with a desktop but not something overly big. I built myself a Micro ATX sized case with a Zotac Mini ITX motherboard and this processor. Works well with games and video editing. I've used Intel lots and will continue to use their chips in the future.

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Older processor technology

Pros:Price / performance
Comment:
I got this as part of a bundle with mobo for only $199 -- at that price, this is an absolute no-brainer. That said, this is older processor technology and measurably slower than the new Sandy Bridge (and upcoming Ivy Bridge) technology. Still, the price/performance ratio on this is through the roof -- highly recommended when on-sale!

Its an Intel Core I5 760, runs everything great, good value, solid performer, outperforms a Phenom 2 x6 1090T at stock speeds. wasn't cost-free, no large improvement more than the socket 775 design, thats about it. Thought it would have been a tad additional impressive. Curious as to why the Core I5 750 is the very same value as this chip. Kinda makes purchasing the 750 a mute point contemplating this is the quicker chip.
