Cons: none

Pros: Fast, relatively cheap
Comment:
I upgraded from a Q6600 think that it wouldn't be that great of a leap forward, but it definately has exceeded my expectations. I had my Q6600 at 3.6ghz and I have been using stock settings on the i5 760, as I have not bought a new cooler yet, and it is already noticeably faster than before. I can't wait to stick the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro on this cpu and see how much better it can get. Highly recommended for anyone who is still deciding whether they should upgrade...go for it!

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: no Hyper treating

Pros: Intel performance, real quad core
Comment:
I have nothing to complain about this CPU. Its just the highest model in the i5 series and it just runs every of my adobe programs perfectly. Consider that it doesn't have Hyper Treating so if you absolutely want logic cores, think about the i7 series.

Cons: None so far

Pros: Easy to overclock
Comment:
I just purchased the i5-760 Lynnfield processor yesterday when I saw it on sale for $199.99. ;DSo far, I have it overclocked at 3.5GHz with stock cooling. Everything's running fine, and also boosted my fps in games. Great processor for the price!

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: MSI board accessory kit was weak as all it had was a sata connector, ide ribbon cable and a ide power to sata... as well as poor support from the jumpers (6 is all i think you get).

Pros: Love the intel brand, and have tried out the i5 760 in a few friends machines before i ordered.
Comment:
Ordered this, along with case and ram as i have a video card and psu previously that i had ordered from here. Recieved my shipment (partially shipped order, says it was waiting on the i5 760), recieved the shipment only to find that the i5 was labeled as it was in the shipping order, but was never shipped. Waiting to here back from ncix. It has only been 3 business days (5 days total) since the order was placed so i am hoping to see my processor soon!!!

Pros: GreatFastAffordable
Comment:
new computer ran great with the i5 for a few weeks, then all of a sudden Starcraft 2 and bad company 2 started freezing ten minutes into the game. tried again with only two cores running instead and it worked. dead core? I think so. I'll see if I can get this replaced.

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: - A bit wonky when running ram at 1600mhz

Pros: -Hella Fast-Can multitask extremely well- Good OCer
Comment:
I'm running this thing at stock at the moment and I usually have more than 3 apps running with a lot of other background programs and this thing hasn't lagged yet, except sometimes I get hard drive bottleneck effects if I'm trying to open too many apps at once. I'm going to overclock this as soon as I get a better heatsink. Another note for potential buyers, the XMP profile doesn't work at 1600mhz ram very well, as the system suffered from bsod unless you tweak the ram a bit, but I haven't tried it yet.

Cons: Stock Cooler

Pros: Turbo BoostQuad Core iX Series
Comment:
Got this for 50 bucks off at a price of 200 CAN.Brilliant price for amazing performance! It was fully compatbiel with my Mobo and ran without any problems.Stock cooler kinda sucks. With Arctic Silver 5 compound I get a temperature of approx. 35 degrees Celsius. It's good because I don't overclock, but I wanted to see more performance and bang for my buck.

Cons: need after market cooler to use full cpu potential

Pros: nice performance /price ratio
Comment:
good cpu , great alternative to 1366 processorof course if you want to overclock this chip you will need to purchase an after market cooler for $400-450 you can get yourself a nice combo (board+cpu+4gbram+cooler) and have a decent pc for gaming

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: expensive

Pros: Great replacement to the i5 750
Comment:
This is a hard purchase. It's more expensive by a considerable amount (~100) and offers features that only overclockers would appreciate. The price of about 200 bucks is hard to justify at this point . I would wait until Sandy Bridge comes out.

Cons: Runs a bit hot

Pros: Highly overclockable
Comment:
Paired the CPU with a Thermalright Ultra-120. Pleasantly surprised how overclockable this CPU is: Intel Burn Test stable for 20 cycles at 200x19 at REDUCED VOLTAGE of 1.275V at BIOS (GA-H55-UD3H). Runs up to 60 degrees though.

Cons: no hiper-threading.. OH WELL

Pros: cheap, overclocks well, and reliable.
Comment:
I needed a desktop computer to replace my old pentium 4 rig. I wanted to play more games but my pentium just coulded take it anymore. So, i just bought this and matched up with Asus board. It is a superb combo and i can definatly see the speed differance between my old ancient computer and the new i5 computer. I recommend this CPU for budget pc and i would buy this again if need one.

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: Stock cooler sucks (of course!)

Pros: Great overclocking.Works well with mid-range setups.
Comment:
Currently have this CPU c 4.0Ghz, would go higher but the temps are currently at an acceptable range. I didn't even have to fiddle with the voltage, I left it on auto in the bios and it works well with CPU-Z reporting 1.248 - 1.250.Have a Mugen 2 Rev.b on it in a V4. Idles at low-mid 40's and one core peaked at 67C during prime test.

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: - wasteful intel stock heatsink

Pros: - overclocking potential- the price is right (when on special)- great for gaming- very responsive
Comment:
I went from a dual core macbook to the i5 760 and i'll never look back. I'm new to the whole pc building but i'm really impressed by how responsive this CPU is. Everybody raves about this cpu's oc potential and i agree! It overclocks itself! It went from stock 2.8 GHZ to 3.6 GHZ (well not really) its great for gaming too!

Current sweet spot for speed! Most of the performance of the i7 without the price tag. Definitely a good overclocker if you have the matching components for it. Highly recommended for a budget high-performing rig.

Intel Core i5-760 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: It's a bit costly for the budget gamer but, with the release of the sandybridge CPU's it's expected to go down so price soon won't be a problem.

Pros: Amazing processor for gaming, perfect for multitasking, a great buy for the avid gamer, no need to get any higher then this if your gaming, because the increase is minimal 1.5 fps, i7 is more for photoediting, videoediting, and this can do that fairly well but is the best price/performance processor out right now for playing games.
Comment:
No problems with it at all, runs everything smoothly, it's not bottlenecking my 2x gtx 470s so I would say it's a pretty damn good CPU, recommend to anyone who can fit this in their budget. Overall a killer CPU for the price.
