I had already installed Skype a few days earlier, plugged in the webcam in a USB port and while I was contemplating installing the soft ware from the disc I got a call from my brother on Skype and he mentioned pix & sound worked excellent on his finish. One of these is getting used by my 98 year old father in law. It just works. I did have to add a spring to the back of his to quit it from coming off the laptop. This camera can record 720p HD video... As long as your hardware can handle it... It is the clearest webcam I have ever seen you can in fact see peoples faces and there expressions... Logitech's software is kinda obtrusive and a pain to set up... And it appears they are attempting to get into the no cost PC calling market with their Logitech Vid... Though I know no one who even has it... Perhaps company can use it for conferee calls... This model works with Sony's PlayStation three... It could even be better if it was USB 3. specifications...

It's rather excellent at clarity from a distance. I think this camera handles lighting considerably much better than other cameras. I also like the indicator light for when it's broadcasting. May be a con to some, but I believe it's extremely convenient. I've got a low-end laptop and its integrated webcam is on par with this one. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a nice webcam. But definitely not worth the ์ I paid for it. I'm probably just getting an overly sensitive american consumer, though. I read a lot of stellar reviews for this thing, and to me, the 720p claim is on the optimistic side of issues. By all means, this is a decent camera. ATTN: This is shipped as the WebCam Pro 9000. The Quickcam was phased out by Logitech; the WebCam Pro 9000 is the updated version of it.This is a wonderful camera. The video good quality is awesome! It can't be beaten for the cost. I've read reviews about the Microsoft LifeCam HD and seen it in action. The WebCam Pro 9000 is worth the additional few bucks although. For ๖ shipped, I'm not sure it can be beaten. Even although I ordered a day too early and got it for ๜ shipped, I'm not too beat up about it. Works excellent with ooVoo, Skype, and the included Logitech software program. I haven't noticed it in action with Stickam or other web-based cam applications.Recording videos with the included software program is effortless. Even though WMP and VLC reports that all videos (even down to 320x240px) are 15 fps, it certainly doesn't appear to be 15 fps. It appears around 30 fps. The excellent is fantastic. Colors are neutral and not blown out. It's not too grainy even in HD resolutions. The video didn't work with this initially. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I installed the drivers every way feasible: from the CD, from Logitech's website, via Windows Update, and so on. I installed it all of those approaches with and without having the extra computer software. To ship it back and add a restocking fee it made additional sence to use it as a paper weight so just kept it - Wish I had just bought this initial.
