No need to spend more...
Comment:
I was a little concerned buying this, thinking I should spend more on a heatsink/fan for my Quad core Q9550. I'm so glad my worries were unfounded. This keeps my CPU at 37C or less at idle and the fan is so quiet. What more could you ask for? FANTASTIC.

Never!
Comment:
I made the mistake of getting a cheap thing with the responsibility to cool the most expensive part of my computer. The fan that came with my computer originally was better! Buyers, don't ever make the same mistake like me. Just spend your money on a good quality, copper base (and even better, something with heatpipes).

Installed it over an Intel Pentium4 3.2 GHz HD processor. Perfect fit. Cools well and runs quietly. Highly recommended for Intel Prescott processors.

Good replacement for horrible Intel fan
Comment:
I purchased this fan as a replacement for the retail fan from Intel. A much better solution as it secures to the chip and motherboard much more securely.

this is a very large fan but installation went well and it seems to keep the processor cool. My case fans are loud so i don't hear this one at all.

Good Product
Comment:
Only complaint was I had to remove the motherboard I had just installed to install the backing plate. Other than that, a definate improvement over the Intel supplied unit.

Best cooler for the buck
Comment:
Masscool or Thermaltake have been fans of choice for my buildouts for years. This isn't very loud for the cowled design. Note: for those who complain about a fan being loud, it IS GOING TO BE LOUDER if it cools well with a cowled design. Open frame coolers do not direct the air over the heatsink efficiently, therefore are quieter, but allow the processor to run hotter. Good job Masscool on this product, I love the base you attach through the holes in a Socket 775 Mobo to attach the fan. Beats the heck out of Intel's cheapie plastic snap-ins which don't stay in. Don't waste your money on Intel's processor/fan pkg unless it's cheaper than the stand-alone processor. Buy the processor seperate and get the Masscool, and save yourself the frustration!

Very Good
Comment:
I saw some reviews on this fan that discribed problems that turned out to false. Maybe they made some changes in the design because it worked great and was vey easy to install. Nothing cheap about it.

Works fine with Intel Pentium D 965 Extreme 3.73Gh
Comment:
At first glance I didn't think this cooling setup was going to work for me. I removed the thermal grease from the heatsink and put on my own. My processor idles between 39 and 42 degrees C. Perfect! Under full load I only get up to 60 degrees C. Also, the fan is not nearly as loud as my last one.

Works for me
Comment:
Bought this to replace the ridiculous OEM fan with the push on clips that are impossible to remove unless you break at least one of them. this thing installs easily and keeps my Q9550 Quad Core really cool. Reports 27 degrees with sensor taped to the heatsink & with the case cover off. Still working out the bugs on my new system board. 2 thumbs up from me.
