Not powerful enough for Pentium D Extreme 3.73GHz
Comment:
Nice, quiet fan, not too big. Not for extreme cooling performance though. It was idling my Pentium D Extreme 3.73 GHz at mid-60C temps. Returned it for a more powerful heat-pipe unit. Easy and painless exchange. Thanks!

Great fan for the price.
Comment:
Great fan for the price. I picked this up after the plastic pins on the intel supplied one broke off during install. I like the low noise level and no hassle install. Much better fan than the cheap plastic fan intel supplies with their chips.

Comment:
I bought this fan to use with a shuttle K45 I bought before they started selling them with the ICE fan. works pretty decent so far.

Two minute install - quiet and effective - last one lasted almost two years in Florida heat with only occasional shutdowns. Probably had around 12,000 hours on it. Reliable and effective for low cost.

So far so good. I am using this cooler with a Q6700. It came with with some thermal grease pre applied. So i used some alcohol to clean that stuff off and i used OCZ Freeze and my temps never get above 32c or 38c under extremely heavy load. It looks like i have enough left for about 10 more applications. Excellent cooler if running stock speeds. I haven't overclocked yet. At the moment my core temps are CPU 30C - Core #1 29C Core #2 29C Core #3 29C Core #4 25C

It worked fair when new. However the fan on this unit didn't last 4 months. Due to the design it can't be replaced without taking the motherboard out, and even then a replacement will need to be modified before it can be used.

I purchased the 8W553 HSF to cool my file / iTunes server's CPU (Shuttle K-45 based on an e1200). Nothing fancy, but small enough to fit in the Shuttle and keeps the CPU cool. Fairly quiet, but being that the server is in a closet, noise wasn't the deciding factor.

This fan fits perfect, simple to understand. I've had a few that said 775, but really didnt have a snug fit or even line up with a 775 motherboard. Though I build computers all the time, I find this fan works fine, and already has paste on it. I'd definitely buy another when needed.

Be sure to install your processor and then this fan before fixing the motherboard to your case and that way you won't have any trouble ! Surprisingly, very good fan for the $ ! I installed 3 of those on 3.0, 3.2 and 3.4 GHz Dual Core processors with excellent temperatures from 30C to 35C (max) !

Its a good cpu cooler compared to the stock fan. Took about 10 mins to install. Great for a single processor or dual core. I do not recommend it for a quad core processor.

Put it on my Stock Q6600 that I got with a barebones kit and was skeptical if it would do the job. CPU idles at 31 and never makes it past 50 so it has definently came through and for the price it does an amazing job. Just don't use cheap thermal paste or you might run a little hotter.

DO NOT GET THIS. I got this an it did not come with the clips to install it so I did not even bother to see if it works.

Very good all around. Keeps my CPU running at a good temperature, even under intense gaming circumstances. The heat sink is burly and really draws out the heat, and the fan is powerful and quiet. Easy installation too. All around great value, and i'd buy another one if I needed one.

Built a box for a friend and used this cooler. I really like the mounting method - the mounting srews screw into a plastic plate on the opposite side of the mobo. Very sturdy and nearly idiot proof. I have the other masscool fan in my box and it has those flimsy clips and I hate it. Would definitely recommend.

Purchased to cool an Intel Core 2 Duo (E8400 3Ghz 6MB 1333FSB) on an ASUS P5Q-E Green Intel P45 Socket 775. I discarded the stock Intel fan for the Masscool product. It fit beuatifully on the motherboard and maintains the CPU at a cool temperature of 41 degrees C.

Use this fan with my Pentium D 3.4Ghz processor. Temps range from 33 to 41. I have seen it has high as 44 once. I am not a gamer so I don't push my system to hard, but my case is inside a cabinet in my computer desk so it has more chance of getting warmer because of that. Fan seems to do well with my system. Quiet fan also.

When I built my new comp a few months ago this CPU fan was the only thing I was worried about because it was about the cheapest thing I could find. Bought it because of the stellar reviews and now I am sold on this fan! Keeps my Q6700 around 30-40c well worth it for $20! also install was easy and secure--dont have to worry about it falling off or breaking your mobo--lacks the pretty colors, bells and whistles, but keeps the CPU cool.

I've bought about a dozen of these fans over the last two years and haven't had any problems so far. These work great on any 65 watt processor. Systems with the E4500 core 2 duo run between 85 and 95 degrees F even under a heavy load. This doesn't really provide adequate cooling for 95 watt processors. For quad core processors and the old Pentium D dual cores a bigger fan like the Masscool 8WA741 is recommended.

Amazing fan for the price. Just needed to put the mounting bracket under the mobo before you install the mobo. Very easy to install. I used this on my very first custom system. No adjustable fan speed, but honestly, it's not that big of a deal. This fan keep my 45nm e7200 cool even while gaming in WoW. Get's the job done and comes with thermal paste pre-applied. For only $20, you can't beat this.
