Bought this for my 2.66 core2duo Old fan kept temps between 57 - 61 C. Just installed yesterday and have been running 46 - 52 for the past 24 hours. A little noisier than the old fan, but does the trick for 12 bucks.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
Comment:
So word of warning: this heatsink came to me with the box opened, so perhaps it was defective to begin with but ... I had this running at idle on a q9300 (no oc), and it was around 51 degree C, when i get to about 25% on all cores i get 65 degree C, so I get a lot of cut power issues obviously to protect the processor. I have tried reseating it twice, and finally got tired of it and used my other computer's heatsink, which is an artic cooler 7 pro (the fan broke on it so it is running without a fan) and this kept the processor at 34 degree C idle and 59 degree C full usage. needless to say I would love to just return this heatsink but can't, so word of the wise, spend another 15 dollars on an artic cooler and you will be A LOT happier.

Much easier to install than the included fan and a larger heat sink. Great value for the money

I bought this for the price. As noted in other reviews, you WILL need to take your motherboard out of the box to install this cooler. Also, ordered on a Tuesday and plugged it in to my box on Thursday. Fast shipping. Easy install, just throw out the horrible instructions which do not apply to this model, screw it down with the retaining clip under the board and plug it in. No overheating and have been running 3.0 ghz core2duo overclocked to 3.3 ghz at 57C under normal load. Does the job for me.

Socket 775 CPU Cooling Fan GOOD VALUE
Comment:
Great value. No problems mounting to my P5N-D mobo. Need access to back of mobo. Comes pre pasted. Only 3 wire plug so speed isn't adjustable. Screw tension springs are wound wrong direction so they dig into the mounting block as you tighten the screw causing metal shavings to drop onto the mobo. Be sure to clean them off mobo. Good cooling fan for the price.

Great Fan.
Comment:
Got my temp down below 100 for the first time on a Celeron D.Only problem is the top speed. Apparently the speed cant be adjusted. My original fan was 4 wire.

I'm a fan
Comment:
Nice design, 4 springs apply uniform pressure on the CPU. Keeps it really cool and runs quietly even at full speed. Instructions are just wrong, ignore them. You need access to the back of the motherboard to install this unit.

Good Design but Noisy
Comment:
The product was based on a nicely machined, pre-pasted heatsink. It is effective in keeping a CPU cool. Ordinary features for a CPU fan. Sadly, the fan developed an annoying rattling noise within a week.

Works well
Comment:
I was having problems with my Intel quad core overheating while rendering videos so I needed a new CPU cooling fan. It seemed that the Intel supplied fan wasn't up to the challenge of cooling the Intel CPU. Before I installed the masscool fan my CPU temperatures were spiking near 100 degrees Celsius. After the installation, the CPU temperature now barely goes over 50 degrees Celsius and that's with the CPU working at 100 percent.

Awesome cooler for the price
Comment:
I loved this cooler for my E6600 Dual Core, but it didn't quite keep up with my Q9550 Quad Core processor. Over all an awesome cooler.

Good fan, easy to install
Comment:
The fan that came with my CPU never did hold well to the mobo. Got this, and feel it was a big improvement -- holds on very securely to the CPU.

I purchase this fan to compliment an Asus P5N-D motherboard and Intel's 9400 Quad CPU. The fan is quiet and keeps the CPU from overheating nicely. You can't beat this performance for the price anywhere on the net.

Good product
Comment:
Installs very easy, although you will have to dismount your motherboard to install it. Once you have, it's a simple matter of tightening 4 easily accessible screws. Kept CPU core temps below 45 degrees Fahrenheit under the stress of prime95 for a full hour with thermal compound applied. No complaints here. Good bang for the buck.

Not worth it.
Comment:
I bought this CPU fan Fed09. Upon assembling my computer it ran and it seemed okay. However somewhere between then and now it stopped working completely. I have a side fan that seems to keep my CPU temp down. But this fan became shot in less than a year. I would recommend spending a few extra bucks to get a quality CPU fan.
