fan sucks because it doesnt have a forth wire, it only has three so you cant adjust the fan speed through bios. So i cant use this for my quiet entertainment comp

Easy to install if you're doing a new box. Pre-greased, and has adhesive to hold backing plate in place during install - also handy if you have to remove the fan afterwards. Works good - my Celeron 440 is supposed to run at 32 degrees - with this fan, it runs at about 40 - still WAY cooler than most Pentium 4 and newer processors. A little slower fan than I've seen recomended for a 775 board, but runs nice and quiet.

Great fan at a very low price.Even though Bob says he doesn't like it because you have to take off the motherboard first, I like this feature. Especially when you have to remove it because I really hate the other types of fan mounts where you have to practically break your motherboard to get it out. With this one, the reason you have to take out the motherboard is so that you can put the mounting plate in the back so that when you install your fan, all you have to do is screw it in, very simple.

I built a new system and this cpu fan does the job. very quiet. I have the fan on an Intel Celeron Dual Core E1200 1.60 Ghz, and it keeps it cool. Very easy to install. I don't think a computer needs an expensive cpu fan to keep the fan cool. this one does it all. I've seen the CPU cores get up to 55 degrees celcius when I run graphics intense games. Very good fan. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on my system, and a good program to monitor CPU temperature is a program called PC Wizard 2008. Just do a google search, and should be able to find it. Ohterwise, good fan.

This is a great fan for the price. I build desktops all the time and whenever I use a socket 775 this is what cools it, and it does a great job with nothing other than a 120mm exhaust fan in the rear of the case to help it, and a funnel on the side to funnel the cool outside air directly onto the cpu. This fan and heatsink does a great job on Dual core 2.0 up to 3.2GHz cpu's.

You must remove the motherboard to install this fan. The instructions must have been written by a baboon because they are grammatically incoherent. I do not recommend!!

I give this product a 5 because of the price. The only concern i have is that i am running a Q6600, and on the first boot up the readings were 40c. Until i can my updates from vista to make my mother board software compatable i won't be able to tell what the temps are running at while working.

The only draw back to this fan is that you have to have access to the Internet to get the correct instructions. Once I found the right ones it was a breeze to install.

Had a big problem with this fan. I bought an Nvidia nForce 680i board and when the screws are all the way in to the bracket attached to the back of the motherboard, there is still a gap between the processor and the bottom of the cooling fan. Without direct contact, the processor just overheats until it fails. The bracket that came in the box is different than the one in the picture, so maybe they put the wrong one in? In any case, a cooling fan that doesnt make direct contact with the processor is completely useless of course, and yes I did screw it in all the way, when I screwed it in more it started to strip the screw inserts on the bracket. Apparently this is meant for a motherboard with a little more thickness to it, however the 680i motherboard seems to be very popular on TigerDirect so I have to think a lot of people will have this problem. My other compliant is that now that I have to take the motherboard completely out to remove the bracket from the back.

The fan actually pushes air from the case INTO the CPU/Heatsink. With the CPU being at the top of my case, and a front intake/rear exhaust 120mm fan, this means that the air that was about to be exhausted from the case is instead blown into the CPU. With the airflow in my case this probably isn't too big of a deal, but I still think it is kind of a terrible design flaw. Q6700 CPU idles at 35 degrees. gets pretty hot while gaming, but my PowerSupply died so I will update temperatures when I get my new one.

I've bought this same heatsink for 4 different machines that I've built over the last couple years and have had no problems with it. It's fairly easy to install (once you figure out what the directions are telling you) and I've put it on single core and dual core PCs. I haven't tried it on a quad yet though

Look no further. This is one of the best coolers on the marker. I bought this for a budget system. I put it on a Intel Dual Core Pentium D 2.0GHz overclocked to 3.1Ghz. My idle temps are 32C. No more than 50C on load. That makes this a great fan for $20.

I need instructions to install this fan, how do you attach it to the motherboard. I have MEDION Pentium 4 2.0GHz CPU and the springy one plastic holder broke and nothing left to keep the CPU down with the cooling fun. Have no idea how to install. Thanks in advance!

Pro's: 1. Inexpensive, 2. Keeps my Intel PentiumD 925 cool, 3. Easy to install, 4. Great customer support ( thank you Roger at Masscool ). Cons: First fan was DOA. It unscrews from the heat sink easily and an email to Masscool customer support got a new fan shipped to me at no charge. So don't freak out if the fan is dead. Just make sure to save a copy of your invoice for warranty replacement and contact Masscool if your fan is dead. They will help you.

I am very happy with this fan. I bought it only because Tiger does not provide a warrenty with a processor without a heatsink, and i found one i liked better on newegg. When my newegg fan failed, I decided to put this to the test. It works better than I expected for a aluminum heatsink. Keeps my o/c PD 3.0 ghz to 3.6 ghz at about 45 C idle and when gaming about 54 C.

This fan kicks! Gone are the problems with those crappy push and twist clips that require so much force you think you are breaking the MB. Very easy install on XFX 680i LT SLI with QC6600 - a touch of Arctic Silver and this baby is running 24 C all day long.
