OCZ Freeze Extreme Thermal Compound 3 Gram Tube
Comment:
This stuff is great. I tried Zerotherm's zt-100, and it did o.k., but this stuff keeps me almost 10c cooler. The results were not instant, but the ''burn in'' was only about 24 total hours. I overclocked a q6600 to 3.2 ghz and idle at 34c on air cooling. At 3.6 ghz I idle below 40c. It does a better job than I ever would have expected. (I love your mom)

Couldn't wait to get this stuff, now I can't wait to get it outta there. Temps rose about 6 idle and 12 underload. Running a Opteron 180, 2.4 auto settings in the bios (no over clocking). I would no buy this again. I will be using the Radio Shack compound when I get the time.

OCZ Freeze Extreme Thermal Compound 3 Gram Tube
Comment:
I was using OCZ Ultra 5+ Silver Thermal Compound, which used to be the company's best. It's a silver based compound - thick and sticky and as per the OCZ website, it could take 150-200hrs for optimal conduction. On my Core 2 Quad Q6400, I was seeing around 39-41 celsius at idle. Today, I cleaned off the Ultra 5 and replaced it with the Freeze. My chip is now reading 34-36 celsius at idle. As a bonus, there is no wait time for optimal conduction - it's instant. I also used this stuff on my XFX Geforce 8600GT, and the GPU has come down from 49 to 41 (per the nvidia MonitorView program)

OCZ Freeze Extreme Thermal Compound 3 Gram Tube
Cons:Expected better performance, but still satisfied.

Pros:Easy to apply, no cure time, easy cleanup and removal, great performance.
Comment:
I ran out of AS5 so I moved to this as a replacement, so far it works great and is better all around than AS5. On idle I noticed a couple of degrees knocked off from AS5, but on load it increased the gap from 3-5 on the different cores. Overall this will be my new paste until the next great thing comes out.

OCZ Freeze Extreme Thermal Compound 3 Gram Tube
Cons:Less sticky not as workable spreadable

Pros:slightly better temps than OCZ ultra 5+
Comment:
I have been useing OCZ ultra 5+ for months now on both my GPU & CPU now I just swiched to this, My FX62 went from 33c idle to 31c and my overclocked 2900xt went from 48c idle to 46c [was 44c after applying ultra 5+ months ago] I have yet to find anything that will give me accurate load temps for my CPU its weird but the radeon load temps seem a little better so far staying 61c or lower compared to up to 67c with ultra 5+ thats after 4 or 5 hours of gaming and with the same overclock rice grain or spreading seems to make little difference, It was to good to be true I think OCZ should be more carefull with its promises
