OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:scary number of PE cycles
Pros:lightning speed Comment:
This is my second SSD, after a Vertex 1 120G.This one is for entreprise needs. The step from HDD to Vertex 1 was incredible. The step from Vertex 1 to Vertex 3 is significant. But still, I just bought an Agility 3 for myself, I think it has a better best bang/buck ratio and requires a lot less power. |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:Nothing So Far
Pros:So far So Good Comment:
I've Installed Win7 on it and it's pretty damn fast. Whoo ou! But once Windows is on it, it is a mess to get the drive a firmware update . You have to do it with Linux LiveCD. Firmware update is not supported with a primary system installed on it. But hey, in the end it is worth the effort and in my opinion it is money well spent for a light speed operating system. |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:A bit pricy still
Pros:Very Very Fast Comment:
Have been using this as my boot drive with a few applications on it and all I can say is WOW. My computer boots up into windows in about 30 secs from the time I hit the power button, to me being in the OS. (Yes that includes me typing in my password) I love the fact that almost any app that is launched from this drive is up and running in a few seconds. |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:Firmware needed to be updated to get it to work with sandy bridge.
Pros:Fast, quiet Comment:
Great drive. I love having an SSD now. I needed to update the firmware so it would work properly with Sandy Bridge. It would be slow and freeze/blue screen often, updating the firmware fixed it and it works great! |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:Still expensive, not fully stable with all hardware
Pros:Fast, SATA3 as long your HW supports it Comment:
I am using it as my system drive in my new Dell XPS 17 (702X) leaving the second drive for data. I cloned the original system drive (using Acronis), installed Win7, aligned the system partition, updated the SSD firmware and tweaked Win7 accordingly. It's fast as expected. I had a Win7 blue screen after a week so I updated the laptop BIOS and the Management Engine Interface but I got one more blue screen after running the fully updated system for another 2 weeks. I guess it is rare but it still happens. It is not a big deal but still, the system is not fully stable. In general, an SSD is really a good thing but at this point, I would only recommend it to people who are willing to trade speed for minor instability and who are a bit technologically savvy. |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:First problem - BSOD, BSOD, BSOD. Second - disappearing drive from my MB.
Pros:Fast, but that is it Comment:
I can't get this drive to work more then few hours.I have a Asus Maximums IV extreme and the drive is connected to the intel SATA3 controller. In the beginning I thought it was a bad board, but then when I have read some stuff on the forums - I have found that this drive is full of BSOD.Also, I just came back home and my drive disappeared from my motherboard (and my computer rebooted looking for boot drive). When I get BSOD - there was nothing I could do but to format my HD (even windows repair didn't work). |

Cons:PriceyStability problems
Pros:FastStorage capacity Comment:
I upgraded from a 60 GB Vertex 2. I only upgraded because I needed more storage (otherwise it would not be worth it).To get this drive stable one may have to fiddle with a few settings. No the best experience, but also not the worst. |

Cons:Not 120GB.
Pros:Ultra fast. Stays cool. Comment:
Very impressed with the speed of this drive. Installation was easy, came with a mount. Would be nice if it was the full, or even close to 120 gb. After Windows 7 installed, I had less than 100gb left. |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:silly install process
Pros:super fast, sandforce Comment:
So like everyone said, if you got a new intel chipset, you have to set the bios to hotplug mode for this drive AND remove link power management. or else, the drive will lock-up. silly, and should have been found during QC. |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:C'mon OCZ, even Intel offers simple SSD software...
Pros:Crazy fastSupport is there, but you have to find it. Comment:
Like the others say, this thing is crazy fast when let to fly on SATA6Gb/s. But just like the poster below me says, you better read up online and have your settings done right. I experienced said issues with hot-swap settings (freaked me out because I thought it might have corrupted Win7 install) and only recently discovered the BIOS fix; I'm hoping it's not the kind of BIOS update that will wipe my data (Even for my Kingston V100 I didn't have to, so fingers crossed). But if you sort these things out and your unit's solid, expect to see a real beast of a drive. What disappoints me a little is that a company which claims to be the king of SSDs doesn't even offer the kinds of utilities that Intel offers for their SSDs (or at least I haven't found any yet). |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:MIR, issues with P8P67 (fixed with BIOS settings), some people report problems with firmware, expensive
Pros:FAST!! I'm impressed with the speed. Comment:
I installed this in a new system with a P8P67 motherboard. I was blown away by how fast everything booted up and worked... until I started experiencing a freezeup for a period of approximately an entire minute in some applications. It took a while to figure out, and I even tried upgrading the firmware -- which was difficult after the drive was already installed as the primary drive. To update firmware, you may need to use another computer, or boot into some sort of linux distribution. After some research, I did figure out that the P8P67 motherboard has the ports set by default to "non-hotswap" and that puts the drives into some sort of "safe" mode, that ends up causing issues with this drive. Make sure you set the ports to Hotswap enabled, and you should be fine. After I did this, I had a super fast drive with no hangups. |

OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:some firmware issues have been reported, have not personally had any trouble.
Pros:Fast, comes with mounting bracket adapter. Comment:
Picked this up to replace a 60gb vertex1. Obviously a nice step up in all regards. Very happy at the sale price I paid. OCZ toolbox software makes firmware upgrades a snap, though may require you to juggle with some drivers and /or what ports you are using to make your drive viewable in the software. Working great for me so far. |

Pros: Very fastSmall Comment:
Very good product, its fast and works great as a boot drive. The main issues I have are with its price and an annoying problem with system freezing that could only be solved by exhaustive forum searching - finally figured out I had to enable hot plug for the SATA3 port (seems to have fixed it). |

i use the p67a-ud7 and it just works.. I get the same read/write as teaktown's review.this is my very first ssd... and.. i know a lot of people said this already but its freakin' ture... its extremely fast...was it worth it? YESbest part is not the speed though.. after changing from a hdd to ssd... its so much quieter with no crackling noise..cheers guys/gals |
Nothing much to say, it is a vertex 3 120GB.Everything is much snappier than any drives I have ever used. PM'd down to $169.99 but still too expensive. Too bad I cannot take advantage of the SATA 3, but it is still at least twice faster than my agility 60GB. Reviews are showing the BSOD and frozen are happening pretty frequently. Let's see after a while what happens. Overall a great product.
