Was worried when hearing from a freind that compaqs are SUPER picky when it comes to ram right following i had purchased this, i personal a V5201US model and read one critique here saying that it wouldnt perform in my laptop as effectively soon after i scrolled a couple of pages in reading, properly guess what,IT DOES Operate. took much less then 2 minutes take out the old 256m ram cards and drop this one in, booted it up and bam recognize's it with no a problem, and even checked to see if the other ram would function with it just for a bit extra and it does as effectively :) from 512 ram to over a gig big difference specially when your shareing ram with the video card. none got it poped it in and off i go. do make sure to look up your specs first befor buying ram, if you have a manifacturer that you like to use check out there net sight to see if there product will perform proper for you, love new egg.

Value was correct, Newegg constantly on time. none apart from my personal stupidity I installed a pair on a Gateway MX6425, it is not compatible w/the system, not dependable 100%. I am not saying the memory is poor, it is not the correct sort of memory for that Gateway. Don't know why, it is supposed to be DDR 333 (PC2700) unbuffered. So, beware if you are going to use it on this model.
