Nice picture and sound. It plays DVD disc images (iso files) stored on my 60 gig USB difficult drive. It displays Chinese language file names. The HDMI output and the included HDMI cable makes connection really easy. Can only accept on USB device at a time.

Plays nearly all video files I have. UI is not excellent for youtube, no netflix. Has difficulty to manage ᡌMbps mkvs through LAN. I planned to use it to stream video from NAS. But it failed to do it due to 20Mbps limitation. WD Television plus can do it. I am not sure if it is brought on by the weak CPU or the poor software program.

Good little program, has about an 11 second boot up time, effortlessly navigated my network to my Win 7 Computer as nicely as my Ubuntu server. When newegg restocks they will most likely get new stock with the 1073DD+ but YMMV as there is now way of understanding till you get your unit.two.5" HDD's are additional costly per Mb than 3.5" HDD's are but I was in a position to choose up a 1Tb drive on sale from newegg for ๠ so it wasn't too negative.eSATA is not give so a bigger capacity external HDD can't be hooked up.Streaming through wired ethernet was glitchy but that might be an issue with a router or my 10럼 network. This player is customizable as Patriot has released the source code and it is regarded as "open source". Image/video top quality is what matters to me when picking up a media player.I compared DVD and bluray movies played on Patriot Box Office side by side with my PS3 by playing the identical title and using the identical HD Television. Works great for something brief of HD. Compact unit, doesn't seem to draw a lot of power or produce a lot of heat. It's GARBAGE! Oh certain, you can play some videos from your Computer on your Television, but you are NOT rewinding if you missed that word and it's in Blu Ray. You have to start off more than if you want to catch that muttered phrase.The folks who work on the software are managed by rejects from brief school buses. For instance, this device was released with firmware that automatically enabled close captioning. Yeah, consumer demand fixed that in the firmware, but it nonetheless shows you how poorly they recognize the markets. But you don't have to listen to me, just acquire the factor if you are not sure. LOL.

This device closes the gaping holes in my multimedia accessibility. The connection by means of Windows 7 Pro was a snap, and there is no sense that the PBO is obtaining significantly much more than slightly warm to the touch.I also have a Logitech Harmony 670 remote that loaded up the PBO configuration without any challenge. Ideal! None!

The Player has has played just about every file I've thrown at it. Like A lot of here my rebate was denied. I known as Customer service and was assured the INVOICE DATE falls inside the rebate date of 12Ǘ-12ቪ. "Don't worry about the 11ቹ ORDER DATE," she mentioned.Of course when I clicked on the e-mail link to get my rebate update it says:Present Claim Errors:The acquire date on the sales receipt does not fall within the program dates.There customer service does not know there own policies.P.S. Had trouble getting this to recognize the files on my file server, but after going through all the sharing options a second time I got everything straightened out. Works great so far. Nice picture, sound is good and the remote works well.

This small box plays every little thing that I've thrown at it. HD output is excellent, and firmware support is active on the Patriot internet site. The fan in mine was noisy, so I disconnected it as suggested by some of the forum members. Didn't definitely get it to use with an internal HD, so I think it'll most likely be okay. Will possibly hack it into a larger case and use a common 80mm case fan with a speed controller. The user interface is a little clunky compared to what I was use to with XBMC, but it works okay (it's been obtaining much better with successive firmware releases.) I did go into the box via Telnet and put in some scripting to produce shortcuts to my network drives (prior to this, it was taking like 8 clicks to get to the actual server and subdirectory exactly where my media content was just before I could start watching anything.) Particular file varieties weren't recognized as valid files using UPnP (this was fixed by going directly to the network.) I feel this is presently the ideal bang for the buck out there for streaming media players.

Decided to buy this because my TV only recognizes videos in .mpg format. So far it's performing great (except for the networking bit I mentioned earlier). Haven't tried installing an internal HDD, just been running everything through the USB so far.

I am really happy with my 1st PBO. I flashed it to a 3rd party firmware and can watch numerous IMS/MMS Tv broadcast, which is wonderful. In addition, it plays RMVB, MKV ... media files with no challenge. Streaming 720p via my Wifi and Windows shared folder is uncomplicated and smooth. so I am impressed with my first PBO, and went ahead to buy a 2nd 1 for my parents. And guess what, it is DOA. Turn on the power switch and there is nothing. No LED no fan spinning. I realize I am not the only victim. My friend who bought in the very same batch told me he got the similar issue. Really poor QC, Patriot Memory! so now I have to pay for shipping myself to have it shipped back for RMA. I guess it was on sale at such low cost for a reason. So I give five for my operating PBO and for my DOA PBO. The typical is a two.5 eggs, fair enough? Could play all the supported formats.I updated the firmware to the latest. No buttons on the unit - so when the remote goes - which it will - the unit technically will be a throw away. Have not attempted it for a extended time to see how it holds up

Although PBO player is one of the cheaper players out there, still this does not mean it lacks any capabilities of other expensive media players. I did notice however though playing very high bit-rate mkv files through the USB connection did cause some lag in playback and some freezes at random times. But other than these small nuisances, this player has my stamp of approval, get yourself one while it is on sale

Nice unit but nothing special. Very similar to Asus O!Play. I does not save my TV settings for some reason. Tried many different combination but it always reset TV setting to 480i. Very Annoying.

"WOW" is the word I'm looking for. I have seen a lot of different makers of movie box. Given the price I paid for ($49) after rebate, this is the BEST ever. Compatible with most file format. It can play all sort of video files including but to restricted to MKV, RMVB and FLV. Yup, MKV/RMVB playback! Something that's lacking from our PS3. I'm Asian and "boil" drama is our culture. This lil guy plays my RMVB collection of drama and able to play them one episode to another without any interruption. Of course, as advertised, it could play 1080p videos. Yes, I was able to stream 1080p nicely via 54G connecting across level. Of course, other than videi/music playback, there are other features including RSS Feed. It also provide all sort of ways to access your libraries, via USB, Wireless, CAT5 and different file share protocal including UPnP. OK. OWN one now!

Plays all the files I have. Unit ultra smaller & rather. Comes with all the cables iin the box. Willl stream videos, music & images from my pc. $$$ with rebate got it for ิ bucks! Yes, I got the rebate in much less then a month and a half. Will not play NETFLIX on its own , but there are function arounds. I wanted something to play videos files in my bed room, and didn't want to develop one more laptop or computer. This does the trick.

Literally one of the best media players even at full price. (of course NCIX has the best price) I really enjoy how easy it is to just download or rip a movie file to a USB drive, plug it in, and BLAM! instant 1080p movie player without the need for a big computer box behind your TV.
